- NyxHi ... Some one call this num about 3pm today I can't answer phone I'm. At wrk so may I. Know who is this...why call me..
- Caller: I don't know
- emei had many calls from this nummber during the last week, yesterdays i did answer there call, they've told me that theu where barclays,i did not believe it
- Jon T, Fareham| 5 repliesA geordie guy called claiming to be Stephen Burnham from Barclays called for a "5 minute chat about a few things". Lots of flannel, lots of "like I say, my name is ...". Not very convincing so I left it. If this is really Barclays it is scandalous that you cold call and expect customers to give away all their personal details and breach the very security measures the banks advise us to take!
- Caller: Barclays
- real bb replies to Jon T, Fareham| 4 repliesno offence Jon but it would be a convincing argument if you knew what you were talking about.
first, of all these details we ask does not break data protection.
second, cold calling is calling a customer who has no relation to the company which buy the way YOU DO
Third, if that is correct then facebook and other internet companies must be braking the law by displaying personal details such as d.o.b on their website. oh and check the electoral role your d.o.b is also there.
So please when you try to cause an argument get your facts right. - AdamI replies to real bb| 3 repliesThis is getting infutiating. I don't have an account with Barclays or Barclaycard and these numpties keep on phoning several times a week. When will they get it into their thick skulls that if I or anybody else in the household was interested in their services we would have responded positively by now. They keep ringing when the person who they are after is out at work - the number of times I have had to tell them to ring after 6 when they return. Sometimes they do, so how many people need to tell them to stop pestering? We have accounts with several different banks and only Barclays markets in this invasive and persistant way - good way of making sure I am very unlikely to be interested in a Barclays account in the future.
- reall bb replies to AdamI| 2 repliesfirst of all we have to establish is it actually barclays or barclaycard if you dont have an account with us then i dont think it is barclays if you have credit cards elsewere then it may be barclaycard, which in that case has nothing to do with barclays as we are seperate companies.
one way to block b/card is via tps
as i said in previous posts only time barclays will ring and you DONT have an account is if you have a business else were and we want you to move over.
simples
you say intrested in the services does this mean someone has an account because its a weird phrase to say if you havent? - EmileI got a call from 08000852652 and when i picked up the phone, music was playing for about 10 seconds and then it stopped. There was some whispering in the background and then they hung up. SPOOKY!
- Caller: Unknown
- dbacRec'd several of these around the same time. May be from Barclays as others have said (or may not)! More likely is it is a 'lead generation company' trying to sell or make an appointment. If they are using auto-dialers then they probably don't have enough operators to answer all the calls where someone does pick-up. However, their system probably logs someone at home at that time of day and that will generate repeat calls.
- Adaml replies to reall bb| 1 replyHappy with the services we do have, clearly disinterested in the services they are offering. Their persistent calls are becoming a bit of a harassment and as I said their continued efforts to try to get us to sign up to this service (I don't know what the service is - it isn't for me, hence they are wasting their time ringing when I am the only one home is futile and frankly annoying.
- real bb replies to Adamlif it is barclays which im not sure it is but if the person who they are ringing for theres two ways to stop it
either
.the branch as long as they take id
.over the phone when we call as long as they go through security
if its barclaycard then you would have to contact them direct through the website
if they are not a customer of barclays then it probably barlcyacard - Kay replies to Rucker| 1 replyhad 5 calls from this number this morning, each time when I've answered they would hung up. Last call finally some guy had spoken and said they are from barclays - wanted by DOB as a security check once I've told him that I opted myself out from any calls he was giving me attitude. If thats in fact barclays, they need to sort out their staff - very unprofessional
- real bb replies to Kayu need to give an example of attitude because if ur really unhappy you can ask for a copy of the call but you have to defy attitude.
and im sure if you yourself were giving attitude im sure it probably would of been mirrored - MariamI checked my last call two days ago and this number appaired to be there with no message left .
I usually don't answer the phone anymore as most of the time I have nonsense callers on the line . - mike bradfieldThis is Barclay's bank and they are making what they term a service call, explained did not need service and please do not ring my number again. the lady did say if you write to barcalys bank headoffice in leicester and say you do not want contacting by phone for sales/account service calls they will tkae you off their list of numbers that are rung.
- Caller: barclays bank
- joefoxSick of these people calling me - particulary when wont answer or talk...
- Matt| 1 replyThis number has called me 7 times today. I did not answer as I have caller ID and know it to be Barclays Bank!
After the 7th call they rang on another number = 01452 510059- Caller: Barclays Bank
- real bb replies to Mattnot barclays if they changed the number we only have one set number
- marie London| 3 repliesSeems to be the concensus...Barclays cold calling...call me almost every other day. Save the number as ignore in your phone is my best advise then you are not bothered.
- Caller: barclas
- Call type: Telemarketer
- reall bb replies to marie London| 2 repliesi still dont think anyone grasps COLD CALLING if your a part of an organisation such as a customer of barclays you are part of that company cold calling is ringing out the blue with NO relationship with that company.
- Markreceived a call from this number the other evening from someone claiming to be from Barclays and asking security questions which I said I wouldnt answer. Contacted Barclays telephony fraud dept and have had it confirmed that this is a valid outbound number from their company. Have requested not to be contacted for telephone marketing in future.
