SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!!

Just called us... Scam written all over it.

Said to my partner........... " We have to confirm your security details before we go any further love....  "they called her "love"... Jesus, I cant get away with that....  She asked themfor confirmation which they WOULDNT give...  they called US!!!!!

They keep ringing me and I say the same thing every time.
"If you are Barclays then send me a letter."
So far I have received no letters and yet they still keep ringing.
Definately a SCAM.

Hello this number keeps ringing my phone line regularly each week and numerous times disturbing my sleep pattern as |I work nights its been going on for at least 3 years on and off fed up with this pestering nuisance caller.

i agree if we didn't give u confirmation which we should do then its not barclays especially with the "love bit"

dont send letters simply because we cant do a conversation in a letter plus if your not happy a branch will certainly take u off the call list

let us know via branch or tel we will take u off

got a call today 7/3/2012,she said she was christina,and asked for mr.peter thompson,which is not my name .i asked  who are you?she hung up........be carefull do not give and take with them.....the call smells very very bad !!!!!!!!!!!!

so it was a wrong number and if it is the wrong number y would u ask who it is and y would we tell you?

This number is definitely from Barclays. I spoke to them recently after they made the call from this number. But yes be suspicious. They had a lot of information about me and my accounts so it was definitely them!

I was sceptical and refused to give over my date of birth and personal details.   The lady reassured me and gave me my details instead to show she was genuine.  Either this is a very good fraudster or the real deal from Barclays.   The lady knew the number of accounts I had, the recent transactions, the fact that I had linked accounts, an ISA with them etc.   I genuinely told her absolutely nothing at all about me and all she wanted was to ensure that Barclays was selling as many of its products to me as it possibly could.    

When I point blank refused to answer her questions she was also extremely patient and understanding and so don't put the phone down on these people.  Politely say "no" if you want but they seem to me to be just trying to make a living like the rest of us.

bb what you don't seem to realise is it is a different matter when I enter my information online at the correct website and when someone cold calls or emails me and asks me.  Ever heard of phishing?

Can these "bb workers" learn to spell?  And please try to understand you're (short for you are) is the correct word to use here!

I also received one of these calls today claiming to be from Barclays and wanting to discuss financial options on my account. I was suspicious and gave the guy no information. He had addressed me by name and I guess he could work out, if he didn't know it already, that I had an account with Barclays.

i have a very very loud whistle that I blow down the landline phone with, this stops them for months...seems to work! The next door neighbour always knows when I get an crank call   :  )

Had call today, after a few yesterday, and to all who say they have your details, be careful, they can still be fraudsters that just want that extra peice of information to complate a fraud task, they could have got your information in many other ways that you dont know about, e.g statements thrown away, your phone number and name can allow them to look you up on the 192.com website, they could even pay them to get full address of the electrol role, internet banking on a virus effected computer and much more.

If a call center working for Barclays have your details, you should Sue Barclays under data protection act

We are Barclays, that's like saying a personal banker at Barclays cant have your details under data protection. Get a grip honestly
