Had a call today from that number, didnt last long tho, they hung up.

I too received a call from this number at 5 p.m. approx. The caller said she was from Barclays in the North East of England NOT India. She wanted to discuss our Bank Accounts mentioning the sum of £20,000 as an investment. I refused to discuss my financial situation she suggested making an appointment in my local branch. I endeavoured to verify the source of the call by telephoning Barclays Additions Plus. They were singularly unhelpful and transferred me to India On-Line Banking having said she would transfer me to Fraud. Fraud closes at 5 p.m. !!!
Why are Barclays Management not aware of this web site and sorting out the problem?
My husband and I are long suffering customers of over 40 years but for how much longer?

I recieved a call from that number today and it just hung up as soon as i answered. Maybe they ring people to find out who answers, then get people to ring them and try and scam! or maybe i'm just suspicious...

They claimed to be Barclays bank. I requested they'd prove their identity by providing a call back number, which they refused to do, so I cut the conversation short. I'd advise anyone to do the same

I keep getting calls from this number. It rings I answer they hang up. It does not sound like those machines that sometimes are not quick enough to hear your "HELLO".

Got a call from this number today. They immediately asked for DOB when questioned about how do I know who is calling can they give some latest transactions they asked for bank details. With this the call was terminated. Then phoned Barclays bank and yes this is one of their call centres registered a complaint about asking for personal details and had a notation put on the account not to receive any more calls.

Very annoying !!

Fed up with these, calling me up and then hanging up by the time I reach the phone.  Did this last year as well but I complained and it stopped.  I didn't realise I had to complain to Barclays on a yearly basis to stop these nusiance calls.

This number 08000 852652 just called me. It was a nuisance as I was cooking so had to turn all the rings off to answer it. And then there was nobody there.

This number is ridiculous it is constantly ringing and none of us (we are all students) at the house have a Barclays account. How annoying! Having had my identity stolen in the past I have no wish for anything like that to happen again.

I find it interesting that despite phoning YOU, YOU have to confirm you YOU are (I too was asked for my DOB).

There must be a better way for banks to pimp their offers?

I got twice call during the day. I don't understand who they are. They told me Barclay's but I am not sure. They asked if I have a Bank account... that's sound strange. I'll go to my branch on monday for having some info.

They called today at 13:36 and 16:11.  Hung up as soon as I said "Hello".  We are Ex-Directory and TP Registered.

They have just rung again - and claimed to be Barclays Financial Planning Department.  I was given an 08457 number to ring back on. Hmmmm.. I may speak to Barclays tomorrow.

Just wondering - for those on here that have actually managed to speak to someone (other than just get a dead line) given a false DoB when asked for it?  If they carry on as though the DoB was correct - you know it is false - if they tell you that it is not correct, then try another one - or suggest if you give the date, then they tell you the month and year.

I've just had a call from these people this am.  This is the third in 3 days.  I feel this is definatley fraudulent and will answer the next time they call and provide a false dob to see if they continue.

I've been called by this number 4 times today. The first two I ignored it, the third I answered and it went dead, and the 4th time a woman said she was calling from Barclays, confirmed my middle name, and then asked me to give my DOB.

I was a bit wary and flustered so I made something up about there being someone at the door and hung up.

Can anyone provide proof that this is definitely a Barclays number? A couple of posters say they have called Barclays and that it is, but I'm still dubious!
