- grace| 2 repliesWE HAVE BEEN CHEATED OT OF 200 £
- Caller: POUND SAVER
- fwr2 replies to steve| 1 replyThat may be the case, but some of us flatly refused the vouchers and £89.95 was still debited from my husband's account, that quite frankly is theft!!!!
- KJ replies to KimContact your bank, under FSA rules they should refund your money if you've not authorised the payment, and they should stop any recurrent card payments also, fobbing people off and telling them to go to the company as outlawed on May 2012. I complained to my bank because although the company did the refund the bank refused to help when it happened, my bank have since given me a decent little 'good will gesture', but more importantly they've assurred me that they've changed their policy. And ultimately... if the banks aren't fighting this off it'll just keep happening, and I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. You can mail the scumbag companies via Zestify TV, give aht at try if you feel the need to contact the companies, but at the end of the day the banks need to get their house in order as this has been going on for far too long. Good luck.
- KJ replies to graceContact your bank, as detailed in my later post. Tell them the payment was taken without you permission and also to stop any further payments. From all the posts I've read on other sites it seems that often people get back payments going back for the past 3 years. My guess is that it's a great little earner as many people either wouldn't notice or blame themselves so don't chase for the payment. I'm sure you'll get you money back, just keep at it. Start with the Bank though.
- Lol replies to Nikki| 1 replyYou work for a scumbag company who has no qualms about stealing money from peoples accounts, if it was a proper company it wouldn't hide behind carefully worded scripts and mis-using personal data & bank details... A proper company would make the cost / product clear - for example. do you want this - it'll cost 89.99, not 'it's a free gift'. Data protection, office of fair trading, watchdog, consumer direct, ICO, hope you've got a good back up plan for when your little money pit dries up.
- Check out the FSA rules| 1 replyIf you've been caught by this trick - tell your bank to stop the 'recurrent card payment', if they say they can'tt refer them to the FSA rules regarding this which states that if you ask for a recurrent card pament to be stopped the bank must do so, it's not up to you to go grovelling to the company who set it up without your knowledge for permission. If the payment wasn't authorised your bank should refund the money However, if you do contact Classic Living & Poundsaver they do appear to do the refunds and are generally pleasant enough when you deal with them. It doesn't alter the fact that this is a very stressfull occurance, and has been going on for way too long, the banks need to get a grip, work together and stop it. If it's any consolation they're also targetting people in America, so don't feel like you've been silly, they have been doing this for a long time, you were just unlucky to come across them, or put another way, lucky to have noticed that you'd been had.
- Caller: Zesify TV / Pound Saver & Classic Living
- KJ replies to moyYour bank should have noticed it was a recurrent card payment, when they dealt with the initial issue and as they'd not actioned it to stop they should re-imburse you immediately. Make sure they've stopped any future payments otherwise you'll find that you're having payments taken again annually. In extreme cases they can stop the card.
- Mrs Annie Ryan replies to j| 1 replyI am a pentioner and the money that has been taken from my bank account is depriving me of paying my heating bill also buying food that i need. I only receive £125 aweek and in one week they emptied my account and left me with £22 to live on.
- Anniemac20 replies to JackieI was caught out too after buying easylifts. When I called the company who I bought online from they told me that when I received a telephone telling me about poundsaver and classic living I had given him a password which enabled them to access my bank details! what a scam! I contacted both companies and cancelled membership then went in to my bank who advised me to report my card lost or stolen. Its all very well saying you can cancel before the 30 day trial period ends but the mail they send you just looks like junk mail, if I hadn't been looking out for it I would just have binned it! I have had two amounts of £1.60 taken out my account and am checking every day to make sure nothing else is taken out.
- Tracey replies to Check out the FSA rulesI have just had the same thing done. They have taken £49.95 pluss £1.60. I went to my bank Halifax and was told it is not fraud so they wont help me. I bought something back in April , so the bank is saying i must of gave permission. BUT I DIDNT.
- much older and wiser| 2 repliesYOU FIGURED... this company is scam and best way to shut this scam is to write to the bbc watch dog at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/gotastory
So if EVERYONE tells them their story, HOPEFULLY they will investigate it and eventually will shut it down - christinei have to been had by poundsaver scam £1.60 £99.95 have been taking out if my account , i have informed my bank and they have just sent me a letter saying i had made the transactions my own , i am furious i bought eye care from a shopping channel over a year ago and no one even asked me about vouchers what so ever ! so i cant be liable for any cancelation on something i am unaware of,how dare they pass your card details on to anyone , im getting straight onto watchdog now and right onto poundsavers tomorrow to cause havoc this has to be stopped.
- funkalitis replies to Sue| 2 repliesIt's clearly not a scam. I've had the card for 3 years now. I was asked did I want to have something sent out which I agreed to when I bought a steam cleaner.
I tried it for the FREE month and found I made massive savings!.
It's around £100 a year and I make that back in 10 weeks, so the rest of the time the discounts are mine.
I don't just use it, my mother and sister use it and sometimes my friends, especially for booking holidays!
My advice is, if you don't want to save money then say you don't want to have it sent out,
Some people wont even take something for free!!
Yearly I save approx £550....every year! Yeah, some scam :/ - Lynne replies to funkalitis| 1 replyJust got my bank statement and found two payments of 89.95 and 39.95 taken not purchased a thing looks like a trip to the bank tomorrow and an email to watch dog, have only found one positive reply and thats yours (funkalitis).
If everyones running in one direction and only one in another me thinks I know which way to run!! - fizzle replies to graceWell you haven't because you can get a full refund by calling them with no hassle, but i suppose it's easier to moan about it here though.
- fizzle replies to Mrs Annie RyanCall this number for a full immediate no hassle refund - they are very nice in the call centre.
0800 096 2925 - funkalitis replies to LynneAt one point everyone thought the world was round too!!
Only people with a full grasp of logic understand that if you save more than something costs you actually make money.
I actually rang them today and asked them could they do anything on the price, they actually knocked 25% off one of my memberships and 50% off the other and said if I still wasn't happy then they would refund me totally.
I just think some people like scaremongering without thinking.
P.S we've actually started a group at home where we all share the cost and use of the card so it's costing me on average 20 pence a week!! - Jenny replies to much older and wiser| 1 replyI'd love if you could define what a scam is,
If it's saving you money and then offering you a full refund if you're not happy, then yes, this must be a scam!
