Report a phone call from 08001077333 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- funkalitis replies to moyYour bank should have told you that this is the number to get a full refund, I'd advise using the card first though, I do, each to their own!
0800 096 2925 - holoman replies to fwr2If you read your post when it comes in then you'll realise it's not theft !!
- goloe replies to DenisWell that's stupid advice, how about your advice being
1) don't agree to have anything sent out to your house
2) if you do have anything sent out then actually read it
3) if you find yourself in a membership that you don't want to be in, then call for a full refund rather than posting nonsense on a website.
4)Actually see what the membership does before you cancel it.
Ignorance is bliss - truth insider| 7 repliesIf anyone wants to know how to exactly get there money back with a 5 second phone call here is how you do it.
I used to work for these companies and I'm here to unveil the scam, and believe me it is a scam. No one here signed anything to give away any money and as such these are illegal transactions.
You can raise the issues with the bank or credit card company but if you want your money back immediately here is what you do.
Throughout the company there is a second team of customer service reps that deal with refunds, the people that answer the phones firstly cannot issue a refund and the more you deal with them the more you are going to be harassed into paying the charges, so what you do is, BEFORE you start talking to the customer service people, DEMAND that you get put through to the RESERVE SQUAD. These are the second team and ONLY they can give you the money back. Do no let the person that answers the phone start talking to you about the savings, this is only wasting your time and once they start talking they very rarely let you talk to the reserve squad. So before you even say hello, say you want to be put through to the reserve squad or else you're going to go to your solicitor.
I worked at these companies for 6 years and believe me this is just about the only way to get a refund. As soon as the customer service guys hear you say that, they know the game is up and immediately will transfer you.
So now there is no excuse, ring this number and stop these scammers, get your money back!!

- Joyce replies to truth insider| 6 repliesI have been conned as well. NatWest fraud team said I could not recover any money back, but I am going to try again after reading some of the comments. Poundsaver phone number is 08701602513 and classic living is 08700602540. That's what appears on my bank statement. Think I will get in touch with watchdog as well.
- Nan replies to Joyce| 5 repliesI had unauthorised money taken from my Natwest account under similar circumstances some time go. I contacted my normal branch and they did a charge back into my account and reclaimed the money from the company. I suggest you get back on to Natwest and tell them to get their finger out.
- joyce replies to Nan| 4 replieswill do. it's driving me nuts. needless to say, can't get through to the scammers either.
- Nan replies to joyceHave you seen the 0800 number in the post just above your first one? That might help as well.
- joyce replies to joyce| 2 repliesI have just rung the number truthinsider has posted, and they have said that they were very sorry, and my money will be refunded within the next 5 - 10 days. Watch this space.
- Gloria Leng replies to PAMELA-ANN LAMBERTHi
Has just happened to me. 89.95. after buying a steamer on tele-shopping. How did you get on complaining? - worker replies to joyce| 1 replyJoybe I was just talking to you, you were very polite and I was glad to refund you the money. :)
- joyce replies to workerJust to say I have looked at my bank statement, and the main part of my money has been returned i.e £89.95 & £39.95. Thank-you for taking notice of my complaint. p.s the two £1.60's have not been returned, but I am not too bothered about that.
- russell replies to Zara| 1 replyi just applied or a payday loan and the company poundsaver came on screen i clicked not interested and it welomed me as a member can they get my credit card details without my knowledge from the loan???? im really worried as going on holiday for a month and wont be able to keep an eye on my cc what do i do???
- Nan replies to russellRing the 0800 number given above and tell them to make sure your "membership" is cancelled. Contact your bank and tell them to look out for any transactions. There is a name somewhere on here for the company which actually takes the money.
- Truth insiderCan I just say, and CLARIFY once and for all, Lev8 is the name of the company that deals with your complaints only!! The ACTUAL company that is POUND SAVER and CLASSIC LIVING is GREAT BRITISH DISCOUNTS!!
Secondly, great british discounts are given your details and are told that you (the customer) wants to become a member for a trial period at least. Great British Discounts are told that you are made aware of the £1.60 charges and agree to have it sent out.
So, the real people you should be angry with are the companies that you buy your products off, they are, ZESTIFY, THANE DIRECT, DAILY MAIL, READERS DIGEST, FUTURE PUBLISHING.
All great british discounts do is give you a free month trial to see if you like it, and all LEV8 do is deal with you when you have a problem.- Caller: pound saver/ classic living
- anon| 5 repliesI have never had a call from these thieves but just to let you all know that they are despicable conmen. If they do ring, please do not have anything to do with them.
I ordered a steam cleaner from a shopping channel on TV - the company is called Thane Direct in Ireland. Paid for it with my Debit Card over the phone. I was asked if I wanted to receive details of discount holidays or weekend breaks. I received the brochures from a firm called Classic Living but just put them away.
This weekend, on looking at my recent Bank Statement, They have taken £89.95 from my Bank Account using my debit card details. Obviously these have been passed on or probably sold to them by Thane Direct.
I contacted my Bank immediately and they are going to ring me back.
Have read lots of complaints from other consumers with exactly the same story.
Hope this is made public on watchdog or something similar. They are taking money from people's bank accounts ILLEGALLY! Money that most of us have worked hard for. Beware of the shopping channels as well. - jimmy magee replies to anon| 4 repliesFirstly - Why wouldn't you read something that you had agreed to have sent out from you? It cost you £1.60 right? Everything was explained on the card, it's easier to blame other people though I suppose.
If we were conmen why would we offer a full refund at any stage. We have about 1,100,000 members and they save £300 to £500 pound a year on their groceries alone not to mention all the other stuff, 50% on home and car insurance...it's unbelievable how people won't take something for free.
A FREE MONTH means a free month to make the savings on...and even if you don't stay with it after the free month you get to keep the 21 nights hotel vouchers for the year anyway.
It's not ILLEGAL, it actually saves you money, sometimes a free gift is exactly what it says it is. - ggg replies to jimmy magee| 3 repliesjimmy magee - Your service may not be a scam but you only need to look at the previous 20 odd pages on here to see that the shopping channels affiliated with you are not making it clear what people are agreeing to, or in some cases it appears that they're just passing customers details onto your company without even telling them!
As your companies reputation is in the toilet because of this, why not sort the issues out at your end???? I'm guessing it's much preferable for you to sit back and let those £89.95 payments keep rolling in from people who have no idea they've even joined your club! - jimmy magee replies to ggg| 2 repliesWell I suppose the reasons for this is because...
A)The companies like Thane get paid for getting people to 'agree' to the free trial.
B) It's beneficial for our company to get more people signed up even for a short period of time because quite a lot of people decide to keep on the membership when they ring up to cancel once they are told the benefits and advantages of it.
But at the end of the day no people are tied to anything and any money that has been taken 'erroneously' will be refunded with no hassle.
I know it sounds wrong and I'd hate people like me, but the truth of the matter is it saves people lots of money and if people weren't so quick to dismiss they might see it also, but hey, it isn't for everyone. - ggg replies to jimmy magee| 1 replyJust because it's beneficial to your company doesn't make it OK for the shopping channels to mis-sell your product! Going by the posts on here and various other forums many people are being signed up without their knowledge - is your company going to put stricter controls in place with your affiliates to stop it happening? If not then you're going to appear that you're advocating the mis-selling and really are going to come across like a scam outfit!
Your savings may be great but people aren't really going to care about them when they've had large sums of money taken from their bank accounts without their knowledge!
