I have been recieving calls off this number several times a day for the past few weeks, but haven't answered one of them as i didn't know the number. I decided to google the number and found out that the same company had been sending texts to my partner,taking £1.50 credit off him per text received. I was baffled as to where they had got my number from as i am very careful who i give my number. Again, after googeling the ways that they could have obtained my number, we found only one common ground, FACEBOOK!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have put your phone number on facebook i suggest you take it off AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it was the same with me. they were calling 2-3 times per day but i didn't answer. after first time i answered they couldn't explain what they want from me!!!!!!!!!

funny how i get barcleys home insurance and phone calls start. never answer 0800 calls. suspicious of all cold calls. rang 08000831856 and followed instuctions, hopefully the calls will stop.

I'm on o2 though i was with orange i don't know about 5 years ago!! But the call was on the landline anyways. Barclays ..???

I started getting calls from this number when I was on holiday in Europe I didn't pick up as I would have high call charges they called up to twice a day for over a week. When I was back in the uk I answered it they asked to speak to a mr xx it was not me I said they must have a wrong number they said sorry and hung up. I am not a barclays customer so reckon it was wrong number but they are certainly persistant in their calls! They had me worried as I was away from home and they seemed really keen to get hold of me.

Number calls me once a day around 1pm, I have a current account with barclays but i am on Vodafone PAYG.

CALLED ME YESTERDAY...AND THE DAY BEFORE.....i ONLY KNOW AS i DID A 1471...i ALWAYS HAVE MY PHONE RINGER OFF SO i DON'T HAVE TO WASTE MY DAY LISTENING TO SOME MARKETING BLA BLA BLA.....ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW THAT IF THEY WANT ME I CALL THEM BACK AFTER 6 P.M. (COST ME 10P WITH THE POST OFFICE) ...SO MY REASONING IS...IF SOMEONE I KNOW WANTS TO TALK, THEY LEAVE A MESSAGE....NO MESSAGE THEN THAT'S JUST FINE...FRIENDS AND FAMILY TALK....ALL THE REST IS JUNK...SURE I SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE MY RINGER ON...BUT HEY....MAKES MY LIFE A WHOLE LOT LESS STRESSFULL AND I CHOOSE TO BE RINGER FREE...OH AND BY THE WAY..IT IS BARCLAYS AND ORANGE.....AND OTHER COMPANIES...THEY WORK OUT OF CALL CENTRES FUNDED BY COMPANIES LIKE ORANGE BARCLAYS...CPM BASED IN WARRINGTON WOULD BE ONE OF THEM....WHY THEY DON'T TALK, WHO KNOWS...PERHAPS TARGETS, THE CALLER HAS TO NOTCH UP SO MANY CALLS...THEN THEY PROBABLY JUST SAY OTHING..NO EFFORT ON THIER PART AND THEY STILL GET PAID AS THE CALL TO ME/YOU IS REGISTERED

I got this call also a little while ago at 18.38pm i am with both Orange and Barklays but never had these calls before...... why do they always bother you at tea time!
I wouldnt have answered it anyway as i never answer numbers i dont know but i hadnt even had a chance to get to my phone before they hung up. Annoying!

Strangely enough I just ordered a free orange sim card from "affordable mobiles" - perhaps there is some link ???

I don't usually answer numbers I don't recognise & also we registered with TPS ages ago.

Got a call the other day. Answered it but the line went dead.

got call at 19-00 hours on 3rd aug 2009 no conversation  and no noise then they hung up can anyone explain the logic behind these people

i just had this called. I didnt answer. I am from Barclays but not from Orange. Anyway I dont think is barclays, I think is a cheat.

this number rang me 08001218141 couple times in afternoon, saying its barcleys trying to sell me accident insurance, dont know how he new my name etc, ive listed my self to recieve these calls, im ex directory. lots of background noise etc.xflingzx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Four calls in the last 2 days. One last week too but hung up when I answered!! Just called again so I ignored it and they left a garbled broken message which I couldn't make out so I just deleted it.
I've read it could be Barclays or Orange and I'm a customer for both but why call me and then hang up? Weird and possibly dodgy! Certainly timewasting!

I hate this number!!!!!!!  it calls me so often that it mankes me sick, usually i don't answer the phone when i see this number, but when i do - nobody is talking to me!  Sometimes "it" leaves me a voicemail - but there is nothig there just a silent!!! What the hell is going on?!?!?!?!?!?

I did answer and let the guy do his sales pitch. I then said that I wasn't interested but was a bit concerned why Barclays were calling me when I have specifically asked for no marketing calls. He was polite & just said no problem I can sort that out for you - so I guess time will tell.

Ive had 5 missed calls in 3 days from this number. Who is it? I'm on T-Mobile and am NOT with Barclays????

had two calls from this number answered both times and both times there was silence second time i informed the caller that if they didn't respond i will report there call they hung up stright away, when i called vodafone and logged the call they told me that the number they had on there computer did not start with 0800 sounds dodgey to me

Got a call frm this number, but I never answered it.  Good job as it would have cost me !!

Im with Barclays and just checked their site.It doesn't fit any numbers on there.I don't answer numbers I don't recognise anymore.
