Yes, I have experienced this and the heavy breathing when they leave a voicemail - least I know who it is now and I will not be answering any of these calls!!

Barclays are really starting to p*** me off with these cold calls. They kept calling me all week while I was at work and when I called the proper number for Barclays back I was told my account was frozen!! Imagine how worried I was and annoyed since I had given them no reason to freeze my account. I went in to my branch the next day and there was nothing wrong with my account. Turns out they only called me to sell me something! Tomorrow I'm going into my branch to ask them to take me off there marketing list.

If You call the number back (not free from mobiles) they give a you a number to call (freephone) that you can ring to cancel any future marketing calls.

This number rung me yesterday the first.Keep on gettin call of different 0800 or 0845 numbers since i got a contract phone what is really annoyin,especially im not bankin with barclays so they SHLD NOT have my new number!!

I have had a call each day for the past 4 days - was away from my mobile but they never left a messag!
I am Ornage and Barclays too...maybe they are giving our mobiles to Barclays???

Got a call from this number. It was a marketing call from Barclays bank. (It is actually genuine)
they got our numbers one way or another (i personally have an account with them) and they would like to sell us all insurance or something else we probably all have already!!!! arent we lucky! :-)

To "opt out of Barclays telemarketing" - call 0800831856 guys, take ur number off their list.

I got a call today from this number and said he is from Barclays. He is offering Personal accident cover. Even they are from marketing company why they have our personal details?

Been getting calls from this number 3-4 times a day. I'm not with Barclays or Orange, so some other company must be passing on personal info. My number is ex-directory and i'm also signed up to TPS!!! So who knows how they get the info, but i would like to find out.

I have been having the same problem regarding that silent call nuisance so I rang Barclays to complain. Having said that they would investigate it, the employee I talked to then tried to flog me house insurance! I strongly reminded him that, given the circumstances, it was highly inappropriate that he should try to turn a complaint into a sales spiel.

I followed the matter up by ringing the Barclays 0800 08531856 number as kindly suggested by another poster on here. It's all so impersonal how they ask you to provide your name, phone number and postcode but there is no mention of an apology for the hassle you have had from their annoying silent calls.

this number keeps calling me everyday, and i don't bank with barclays but partners does!!!! they are such a pain.

Very odd. I randomly got a call from this number today. I've got nothing to do with either orange or barclays.

This number called today. No answer. Annoyed as I have subscribed to Virgin's call blocker where they block calls when source number cannot be traced. But here 1471 reveals number and hence call was allowed through :(
