I recieve calls from them all the time but i called the number back and it tells you to ring 08001218141 if you no longer want to recieve marketing calls. I did this and you have to go through the automated thing, they then tell you that it can take up to 30 days to take effect.

I also have had calls from this number but have ignored them, I'm not with Orange but I do bank with Barcleys. So this might help to solve who's passing on our information.

Same story here, the frequency has increased from 2 calls a day approx 2 weeks ago to a total 6 calls today. Like most others I choose to ignore such numbers. Also like everyone else it seems, I'm a Barclays customer. Not impressed, and will be paying a visit to the branch later to air my grievance. I'm just glad I googled it and found this site, saved me some hassle. Thanks.

it is from barclays i rang the number back and got an answer phone message but if you want to stop the phone calls then call 0800031856 and leave your details with them.

same with everyone else, getting up to 10 calls in 3 days... getting more and more frequent as well, at all hours in the day... been ignoring it.  But glad to have googled the number and found this, at least I now know what it is.  I am, surprise surprise, a Barclays customer.

This number has rung me 3 times so far today so far and yes, i'm a Barclays customer but not for much longer.

who are this people, i didnt pick upp coz i thouht they might be selling something and i couldn't be bothered to answere them. i wish these loosers stops callling and wasting our time.

Had 2 calls from this caller ID on my mobile today, one at about 12:30 and another about 17:00. I sometimes think it is a recruitment company but normally they leave voicemail. I pressed the red button on both calls as I'm at work and will only answer something that looks urgent. No voicemail was left. It doesn't bother me that much as I'll just press the red button again and if it's urgent they'll leave voicemail or text me.

Phoned me saying i was someone called Ashley Barker, when clear i am not, they also said i had phoned earlier on in the week, was very loud people in the back ground.

ive started receiving these phone calls from this number and i first thought it was someone trying to reach me for a job or something as it was very consistant. I had loads of miss call from them. It doesnt really bother me that much as its an old phone that i use only as an alarm clock! Im glad i found this website! Now i can relax and not worry trying to pick up the phone or call them back!

it started calling a few days ago and it keeps calling all the time throughout the day. I dont pick up as im working. But it is a bit annoying a guess. I hate phone calls like that.

just started getting calls from this number a few days ago.  At the moment it is occuring 3times a day.  Noticed other barclays customers are getting these calls from same number aswell.  I refuse to answer it.   Getting to be a real pain now as i have to have my phone turned on in meetings due to the work i do and being interuppted by this number all the time is peeing me off.

It's Barclays bank, I picked up the phone today and they tried to sell me life insurance !

You and Yours on BBC Radio 4 in the UK often report on phone scammers.
These are usually mass computer dial ups. You don't hear anything because the operators/scammers are still dealing with other people who have picked up.
These people are human filth who should have their ears cut off for the misery they cause.

Just had a call from this number, googled it and found this thread. Done a bit more checking, and it's from a call centre on behalf of Barclays Bank PLC. (not barclays itself it seems). They periodically call customers with offers they have been pre-approved for. The reason that sometimes you hear nothing or there is a delay between you answering and someone speaking is that the calls are initiated by an automatic dialler, and when you answer, it is connected to one of the call handlers.

I can't believe people are going into banks closing their accounts with Barclays on the strength of getting these calls! That's incredulous.

It would be a lot quicker and a lot less effort to answer the call, and within 10 seconds tell them that you don't want to buy anything and are going to hang-up.

I am also with Barclays. But can`t say where the call`s coming from. They hung up right after I said "hello". I think my balance is shorter but am not sure. Trully weird.

Am v careful who I give my number to & this number has called me every day for the past week - sometimes twice a day.  As I am very careful about answering these numbers - well I simply don't do it but it's just so annoying & if I'm busy I could answer it without thinking. Aaagh !!

Didnt read all comments first so interesting to know its got a Barclays connection  but did get call once saying it was Barclays head office & my mobile was on my acc. info. I begged to differ & said I wouldn't discuss my account anyway. Have also had calls previously from someone saying they were Barclays but when challenged wouldn't admit it was the 'real' Barclays Bank - selling account protection!! They might not have my account much longer either!
