    YOU CAN STOP THIS....

    This number is a BT number for marketing. Ring 150 (or 0800 800 150) and say that you don't want any marketing calls from BT. It will stop!!!

    I keep getting calls from this number.  It is so annoying.  It appears that this is a BT number so could they please tell us why this keeps happening and get it stopped!

    this number has called me twice this week when i rang it back it said it was bt and that they would try again, the second time it rang i answered and it went dead aftre a few seconds of silence.

    I got called by this number.  They claimed to be from BT, asking for the account holder.  I found it surprising that they didnt know who the account holder was.  The man said that it wasn't showing on his screen at the moment, which made me suspicious.  So I said I wouldn't talk.

    Don't be surprised by anything from BT.
    Most of them don't even know their own names, never mind much more.

    Caller claimed to be from BT, but was implying that while my line rental was  with BT, my calls weren't, apparently angling to get me back, although my calls etc ARE through BT.  Then asked my address before "confirming" that yes, I was still with BT.  I would be suspicious if it were any other company, but this sounds exactly like BT...

    This number called and spoke- it purported to be a BT sales rep who wanted me to change back to BT for my calls- instead of Sky talk- he had a american accent!

    x 2 calls from them today, phoned BT to complain, wasted 10 mins to get put through to india (HOW CAN THEY CALL IT BRITISH TELECOM ?) only to be offered a month free on withold numbers that i could always cancel if i didn't want at end of month!!!!, BT appear to be drumming up business by doing marketing calls to people thay know are on TPS. I am going to switch to another company, if everyone does they'll go under, they are awful.

    Was called numerous times by these today, BT wanted to sell me a call barring service when i complained, I said it was them calling me and they still tried to sell it to me!!, going to follow some of the others on here and ditch BT for good.

    Whatever area of BT is making those calls, if, like me, you have repeatedly answered those calls and told them you have telephone preferences set, they should not be calling you.

    They call during the working day, surprise surprise I am at work so they will not get an answer.  When I was off sick though they called and I told them to note that I have telephone preferences and they should not be calling.

    This week they have begun calling again, two to three calls a day show on my caller display.  I presume they are urgently trying to sell me something - I do not make that type of decision from a phone call out of the blue, when I want to change telephony, broadband or whatever it is when I decide to do it and I research it, I don't need BT harrassing me with calls.  I have no friends at BT, these are always calls of the 'we can save you money' type.

    BT are surely covered by the telephone preferences.  I get the same though with Talk Talk who provide my phone calls, they too think they are above the telephone preferences and continue to make calls.

    Thanks for the link above, I have put in a complaint and trust that will stop the calls.

    I have had dozens of these calls. they always hang up. BT think its their number but say it will take 8 weeks to stop them. You would think a telecommuncations company could operate a system that would let them identify where the call is coming from but its beyond the ability.

    Just had the silent call treatment. Put the number in my phones address book and assigned a horrible ring tone and when it rings again I know its a nuisance call

    I check 1471 after work on a daily basis. I find this number at least twice a month. No messages left.
