Report a phone call from 08003289393 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- AshleighI work for a well known UK bank and this is a generic BT number. So it could be any company calling you that uses BT themselves.. Dont worry!!
- Caller: Any company!!!!!
- RichadIn the last 6 weeks I have had at least 14 calls a day from this number, whether the number is a generic from BT or from another externalised company. I have found it neither amusing nor particularly helpful, as many correspondents above have stated I do not answer unknown numbers and as I have never requested either information or anything else from BT in the last 2 years, It is a mystery. I am often out when the number calls and I often get the dreaded silence that occurs with some of these calls replayed from 1571 on 3 occasions when awaiting calls from friends this number has called prior to and following their calls literally seconds before and seconds after, these calls seem to be responded to with background hums, squeaks and other offstage noises on one occasion, a resounding fart was followed by the cut-off, no one ever speaks and whereas in the past I would answer with my number, I now answer with Hello, and if silence ensues put the reciever down, today having recieved a call from the number while awaiting a friends call, not only did they not answer but they stayed on the line for 37 minutes making it impossible for me to make an outgoing call! This sort of call is highly annoying and totally thoughtless, I do wish we could get the number and it's user firm or individual banned from ever using this number again, permanently!
- Caller: unknown/unverified
- HeatherI was called on my mobile today and the guy called me by my first name (strange to use a first name) and promptly hung up when i asked who was calling... how the hell did he get my mobi number? grrrrrr good job my husband isn't the jealous type.

- PaulI'm sick of getting cold callers, despite being on the TPS. I had this number call me this evening just as I was about to start eating my tea. I told them that the person they were asking for (me) had died.
- RogerI had this guy ask me (20.45)about my personal calls and he ask how I felt about having free calls at the weekend, I told him I was not interested and he became very arrogant. I then told him I was going to politely finish the call which I did. Does anyone know how to contact BT to get these calls stopped?
- Melinda StevensI got a call from this number the other day, when I answered the man just laughed and hung up!
- NeilThis number kept calling my answerphone day after day for more than two weeks. Ultimately I took the call. It was BT, wanting to know why I'd left them for another provider. I stopped the person as they launched into trying to sell me a package. I complained that I didn't want sales people repeatedly calling me out of the blue, she told me that if I rejoined BT they could register me to stop sales calls! I said I didn't need the service until BT started ringing me! The irony was utterly lost on her. Ultimately hung up the phone. A month later and they've started ringing me again!
- SteshaI did not answer as never do if number not recognised (and especially if starting with 0800) What annoyed me even more is that on top of my own ring tone, this number also produced a 'calypso' ring!! What next....
Although TPS, I also get cold calls getting through occasionally and have resorted to paying BT for 'Choose to Refuse' which is brilliant. But why bother when BT themselves are circumventing TPS! I know anyone with an existing connection can call you but this number sounds like a franchise type thing for selling BT stuff which should be caught by TPS surely? - RhonaI recieved several missed calls a day - My house phone is on Orange so BT have no reason to contact me. Any way I can stop them?
- ScottThis number is BT's generic number. Any person that calls you from BT weather it would be sales... technical ECT. I work for them... if you call it back it actully tells you its BT
- Caller: BT

- AndyThis number is definitely from BT. It is a generic number that is used when they attempt to contact you, it may be from sales or from the fault department etc. Many internal engineering calls to engineers etc. display this number.
- M. HutchinsI've had many calls from this number. I suspect that it may be possible to rent this number so that, for example, credit card companies can use it to harass people. My advice to anyone being harassed by ANY company on ANY number is simple - get yourself TRUECALL. You can refuse or accept any numbers you like, even rejecting WITHHELD numbers.
It's not cheap, but will save you endless time and upset!
Check it out at http://www.truecall.co.uk- Caller: blank
- carolthis call is from bt 100 reverse charge i get at least twice to three times a week i know who is calling me but i cannot stop these calls unless i pay virgin media 2.50 a month so its just about not answering the call
- JessThis number comes up everytime my dad rings me from his office, or work mobile phone. He works for BT.
- Paul100% BT - and it wasn't an Indian call centre
- Caller: BT
- Who cares?Caller called and asked to accept a reverse charge call!!!!
If so many people, working for BT, claim that this number is of BT, then why none of them are taking up this matter within their organisatiOn and have this practice stopped?
Or is there no one in BT responsible enough or have the courage to take up this matter at the approriate level to have this mischievious calls stopped?
This seems to have been going on over couple of years now!!!
Come on BT employees, do something about this!!!!- Caller: BT????
- MikeLThis number just rang me, when I answered it just played music ..... what's going on???? If, as some writers suggest, it is BT phoning what can I do to stop them?
- Dussy HoppersMy husband works for BT and this is the generic number that is displayed whenever he calls me from his office in London.
Hey! So you can all blame him!- Caller: B T
