Had a call at 5am in the morning. No message left

Got a call from this number on my mobile at 08.41am and also on my land-line at 09.00am, BT call center.

Deffinitely BT, the number showed-up, whilst the BT engineer was testing and clearing a fault on our phoneline

Have just received a call from 08003289393 and need to know more.  Our business has recently been a victim of dial through fraud, so are extremely wary of these calls.

It was a Chinese lady calling, who could barely speak English, saying she was from BT Phonebook.

My husband tried to make a reverse charge call from a BT phonebox to our home landline and this was the Caller ID number that it came from. For some reason, he was unable to get through.

I got a call this morning at 5am...Its not nice as with 3 children an 2 young grandchildren a call that time of morning is very scary.....

I switched off my mobile last night because the battery was low but when I turned it on this morning it said there had been a missed call at 12.15am from this number. No idea what it is about but it seems hard to believe BT in the UK would be calling people at this hour.

I keep getting calls from 0800 328 9393 to my 02 mobile. Not answering it, does anyone know who it is? Thanks

I just got rung on this number, and didn't answer as I was suspicious. However, a voicemail was left and it was my Dad (who works for BT) ringing from a work number. So perhaps a generic call out number as suggested above.

Had a call from this number and it said the caller was trying to reverse the charge at a rate £1.99 for 30 seconds!!! If this is coming from BT, for each time a recipiant answers the call, they are making a whole lot of money out of us in a rather devious way.People answer the phone only for the other one calling to hang up-They've earnt some money because the call was accepted! The annoying thing is our phone is not BT and why is a so called "0800..." freephone number asking for reverse charges????? THIS MUST BE STOPPED!

A lot of people on these messages are insisting the calls are from BT. It seems as though they are trying to settle peoples nerves by saying this, but for anyone checking their itemised bill/mobile credit etc they may be getting charged dearly for answering these calls. If it's making BT a tidy profit, if the y are struggling in this recession, then BT workers will endorse this number as OK. But WHY are BT ringing other phone companies landlines/mobiles/reversing charges and hanging up as soon as people answer? TO MAKE MONEY OUT OF PEOPLE DISHONESTLY-DON'T ANSWER FROM THIS NUMBER IF I WERE YOU.

this is BT, the number came up when they called me back after I left a complaint with them about broadband

This is BT we have ordered a new leased line and the chap wall calling me to confirm the install date.  Felt compelled to post something as loads of 1d10ts seem to have some fairly whacked out ideas on this number!

same experience as others- left a message stating a fee of £1.99p per 30 seconds if i rang back- but no actual message left, just the auto message. Will be watching this one!

This number called my business line at 4 a.m , two rings then rang off , since we work from home it woke the whole household up . No amused.

I've got my car up for sale, and a girl rang yesterday saying she was interested (to my mobile) in buying, when I said I wasn't at home till today, she said she would ring me back. She never did

Had a call on my VoIP phone, I didn't answer it, but my answer phone kicked in and I got charged for receiving the call! Some sort of devious big business bullsh*t this is! The telecom companies must know it's going on, but are happier to rake in the cash than stop this clearly criminal activity. I'll show them criminal, I'll take their kneecaps out if I find out who they are! Well, maybe I wont go that far, a simple punch in the chops should suffice!

This no 08003289393 has been calling constanly today I am now ignoring it but what if it was a call i reaaly wanted to take sick of these people.

Someone from this number calls my business line several times a week asking for a job reference number for an installation job. I thought it was some kind of scam at first, as when I said I had no idea what they were talking about they were very persistent in asking me questions. However, a very lovely chap just called and it turns out they're trying to reach BTs Open reach planning department who has a very similar number to ours. After reading some of the comments here from people who claim to work for BT and this being a generic BT number, I'm satisfied that there's nothing sinister going on after all :)
