Report a phone call from 08003896818 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- LeeThey are still around! - I just ignore them now
- Paul replies to Mrs InformationMrs Information,
In fact it is you who is the stupid one. Completely barking. - Malc replies to TLC WorkerThank you for a comprehensive and sensible answer. Job done !
- TLC Worker replies to Ian| 1 replyIf you didn't want it then just say so..... Also if you call MBNA and say you where called by the listening company and quote the number that phoned you they can verify the legitimacy of the call. With all the security on your bank account these days and the amount of ways you can check the legitimacy of the caller, why call the police? What a waste of our good tax payers money that would be. "Oh no, some man tried to sell me something on the phone, please arrest him"
I work on that team and the only time we would ask for that info would be if you wanted a Money Transfer in to your bank account interest free for the promotional period mentioned (which varies from customer to customer). We wouldn't just call you up and force you to give us your account details. That is illegal and i monitor calls to make sure that none of the staff are doing anything near it. We have strict guidelines that MBNA give to us and if we do not adhere to them then the person looses their job. The most info we ask for on a call is one part of your date of birth (day, month or year) and a single letter from your password (which is less than what customer services or online banking ask for). To do a money transfer we need the sort code and account number of the account you want the money payed into (which is common sense, we cannot magically put money into your account) and for the balance transfer we just need the card number across the center of the card, nothing else, no CVV codes or expiry dates. We ask for a lot less than the other card companies to initiate a transfer.
The same agents who call you are also there working on new applications for cards on MBNA's inbound line so these same people are the ones who would have signed you up for your credit card with if you called in.
The guys on the MBNA campaign are a great bunch of guys, they like to have a laugh with the customer instead of being a robotic voice down the phone reading a script. MBNA have big customer satisfaction morals and all of our agents have to abide by them.
Remember if you do not want phone calls then don't opt in asking to be informed about new offers. - old and slowGot a call today from this number - said they were from MBNA. I hung up and 1471'd the number. Rung it back and voice message says they are a marketing company.

- JulesJust answered the phone and no one there, hung up after a few seconds. 14:56 12th Nov 2010.
I am part of the telephone preference service and def should not get this or any other cold calls!
Really annoying - rubbish73 replies to TLC WorkerWhat a load of crap, these are just marketing calls, the person at the end of the line doesn't even know who they are being connected to, that explains the silence when they don't connect.
Why should good people have their lifestyle spoiled by marketing companies, if I wanted something then maybe I'd contact the provider.
As for MBNA, another bunch of useless Rubbish, how many times can you tell them that someone has passed away before they stop harrassing and trying to make contact, even as late as midnight, they wanted us to provide a death certificate in order to stop chasing a 50 pounds debt, whilst the family was in grief at the loss of a young relative in a traffic accident.
All a waste of space so stop talking about tax payers money, I'd rather pay extra taxes to have all telesales, marketing firms, cold callers and debt collecting agencies put into a pit of fire !!! - Kareni was called by this number this morning but didnt answer it - not sure who it was from does anyone know
- LynThis been calling for days and turned out to be a call from MBNA credit card trying to get me to transfer balances from other cards @ 0% interest!
- S HarrisonRang me 9.20 am today and the caller hung up immediately on hearing my voice; I suspect this was because they wanted to talk to a female. Action needs taking against this company
