I've had a number of calls from tnhis number recently, but as ever I refuse to answer 0800 calls, unless expecting someone.

They are a menace.

calling everyday for 3 weeks but never picked up. no message left either.

Just got a call from this number at my home asking for my partner by her name "can I speak to ....?". I said "no" and laughed a bit being nice as she was out. I was expecting a response but after five seconds of silence he hung up.

If he was legitimate then he would introduce himself and explain in a minimal way why he was calling and potentially leave a message.

Doesn't should like a "great bunch of quys".  Somehow they will take your money.

My nan has had this number ringing her for over a week now. When she answers the phone they either hang up or make funny noises down the phone.. Swines!

I've twice received a call from this number on my work mobile; I didn't answer as was suspicious, seeing an 0800 number.

As my number's almost never given out, one can only presume that provider 02 can be thanked for possibly selling numbers (?).

Just had this number call about 5 mins ago.

Didn't pick up, no message left.

this number rang today... 9/2/11, on my mobile.. BUT I NEVER ANSWER THESE KIND OF CALLS OR WITHHELD NUMBERS ON MY MOBILE.. just press the red phone.. and BOG OFF.. so googled to see if this number came up to see who they are and hay presto found this website.. good job i didn't answer the phone as i always give these sort of people a gob full, i'm already in a bad mood, so they lucked out today!!! lol

Just rec'd a missed call from this number, anyone got any idea who they are and what they are about?

Only just had my phone line installed, haven't given my number out to anyone yet and I'm getting a few calls a day off these a$$hats already! The usual routine - no answer on pick up. Just gonna unplug the phone for a bit...

rang this morning asking for my hubby and said they are from E-On?

This number just called me and left no message. As always i never answer 0800 numbers still not sure who the call is really from but suspect its all a bit dodgy!!

Just got called first time by them and knew str8 off they were not 02 by the poor quality of the salesperson and their hesitant explanation of 'checking our records held on you' which I told them if they were 02 they already should know as they bill me every month for the last 15 years.so gave them zero info and asked them to read out what data they had.

Told them they were clearly some spam phone call outfit and not much good at telesales as I am a Sales Manager and the guy basically mumbled, went quiet and hung up in shame... useless script reading amateur. Googled them, and lo and behold here we are!  Annoying that nothing can be done to stop them really.. it's just lies and misrepresentation!

I have worked as a professional sales Manager and Director for more than 25 years and no matter how you try to cover up for the actions of your company you have one of the worst recorded unprofessional reputations in theUK. The fact that simply Googling your outgoing call number produces page after page of references from angry customers is despicable - that your business is allowed to even operate after several YEARS of attracting such anti comment is even worse.

When called by one of your colleagues lamely claiming to be from 02 I challenged him to confirm he actually worked for 02 to which he repeatedly said ' yes sir, We are 02' yet he wanted me to confirm my details without verifying that statement. Not only did this fellow repeatedly LIE, misrepresent himself and your company falsely but he was stumbling and mumbling and couldn't even sound vaguely convincing against a reasoning articulate customer. Clearly amateurish training at your place.

No amount of fudging on your part on this forum can disguise that The Listening Company has a despicably poor standard of ethics and operating methods and is reviled by the general public and business alike. This message you should be passing on to your self promoting overpaid Directors who instead of boasting about their charity PR exposure should be tackling the heinous reputation your annoying company has with consumers.

just had phone call saying it was from eon was on a loop saying it was connecting to advisor wont be answering again though thanks to this site

Just missed a call from these clowns! Not in a good mood as I have man flu so couldve done with a rant. Strange however that I have never been an Orange, O2 or Eon customer. Random.

This is a standard data call centre that work on behalf of a number of companies. They make cold calls to verify that they have your details correct so they can add it to their database, which in turn allows various different companies to contact you. Had a call today at work and they asked if we had any private medical insurance for our employees. Told them it is not something we are interested in.

The calmer you are with them, the more sense you get out of them.

They are a Telesales company that handle work for many different campaigns e.g sky, o2 etc.......i used to work there, so son't be scared haha! It's just a general number they have when making  outbound calls!

Had a phone call today at 1.51pm and another yesterday but don't recall what time. Didn't pick up as it looked suspicious, both times a message was left but nothing was said, I could hear chatting in the background so assumed it was a call centre. Googled the number and I found this helpful website. I can't believe they've been going on for so long! I won't be picking up and can only hope that they'll eventually get bored.

Call received at 1355 hrs on 12 May 2011. One of many over the last few months. Caller hung up when answerphone kicked in. When I called back having put 141 in front of the number to block my number from being read by them, there was no answer. I tried this several times. When I phoned back without using 141 to block my number, a recorded message says ' you have reached The Listening Company, a marketing company working for various clients.'

A large company with nine offices around the country employing 4000 people, possibly affiliated to 'Serco'.

Suggest everyone bombards them with calls to the above tel. no. which is what I'll be doing!
In the meantime I've lodged a complaint with the 'Telephone Preference Service'.

They called again today. Twice. Once at 5.18pm and again at 8.19pm. I didn't answer and they left no message.
