u have missed a payment and they are calling to reclaim the payment, I missed this months setanta payment they called to recoup the money, its not a scam!

Been getting calls from this number up to twice a day for the last week.  Letting the answer-phone take the call the caller always hangs up (a sure sign that something is not right!)  I finally decided to answer the call today.  Caller was from 2Touch claiming to be calling on behalf of EDF to check my meter.  He didn't know whether I have gas and/or electric with EDF.  I told him he should know if he was acting on their behalf and need to inspect it/them!  Then said I would contact EDF myself to arrange the inspection, at which point the caller said he would send me a letter about it and ended the call.

I phoned EDF to check this call out:  EDF state that 2Touch would not have the information to know when meters need inspection.  Therefore this call was NOT authorised by them (although they have used 2Touch before for other things).  The meter company would call or write directly to arrange inspection.

I'm registered with TPS, and I'm wondering if claiming to be working on someone's behalf is a way these companies think they get around TPS and gather information.  Should 2Touch not be reported to OfCom?

always silent, then a click. last night it took us 15 minutes to clear our line as after the click the line stayed open.

I keep getting phone calls from 08004082680, When I pick it up it starts ringing as if i have called them. Then they ask for Mr or Mrs Bourne. When I tell them that they have reached the wrong number they don't hang up.Instead they start asking my personal details. It is very annoying.

Had these calls all day today; rings off when I pick up the phone. After viewing this site I phoned the number given by Kerry in a previous post (T: +44 (0)191 525 7000) and got through to the complaints department where I then proceded to give the poor lass at the other end a right mouthful about how annoying these calls are. I suggested she asks her superiors to get a better calling system than the one that they use.

I suggest other people phone this company and give them a piece of your mind as well if these calls are a nuisence to you.

after 25 silent calls I got one from BT Broadband this morning. I mentioned to the girl about this number and she got a bit odd and said she'd try and get the calls stopped.
checked 1471 after and guess what..yes it was the same number.

so now they have actually bothered to give me a proper call maybe that'll be the end of it.

This is the number we have just checked keeps calling us claiming to be SETANTA Sports. Called 12 times in last 6 days, and sometimes don't no-one there so quite creepy, and harrassing

I had a call tonight from these people at 7.30pm.  Did a little homework.  This company is called 2touch and they're a Telemarketer company.  These people are linked to companies called RED Debt Collection Service and Lowell Portfolio I Ltd.  

NB:  For anyone who is with BT, here's what you can do to avoid silent calls like that. Dial 14258. Choose To Refuse asks you to press ‘**’ to confirm that you want to bar calls from that number of it can give you the option to add the number that you don't want calling you.  If you don't have this feature, call BT and asked for it to be added.

been haveing these calls nearly 5 times a day.. silent then hangs up... getting really pissed off with it now, just complained to ofcom. told them i run a company from this phone and its getting on my secretaries tits now... and only im allowed to do that! =P
if only i new the manager of the company doing this... id f**k with his mind at 3am with calles! xD
nahhh seriously tho.. id report them to ofcom... enough complaints will stop this!

Got a call from this number at 6pm today *BEAR IN MIND I LIVE IN IRELAND* and on sunday at the same time another number rang at exactly 6pm. I missed the calls but I have a feeling it has to do with setanta sports as I recently cancelled the agreements!

If I get one more call I'll be on to setanta to get to the bottom of this.

Third call from this company today, as said before, the line goes dead as soon as I picked up! Its really getting annoying. We too are registered with TPS.

I'm so relieved and at the same time disgusted to see that I am not the only one that has to put up with what at best can be described as nuisance calls.
I too have put in a complaint to Ofcom but as yet, it hasn't made a difference as I am still receiving these calls.

I had 2 calls yesterday, the first in the morning, I didn't get to in time so I got the recorded message on ringing 1471. The second call in the afternoon was silent/abandoned by the time I picked up.

Read these comments last night and decided that I would ring their nuisance calls dept as hugh detailed - sept 2008 - in the morning.

Just had call from them (I ran to phone to make sure that if it was them my call would not be abandoned) before I had a chance to ring them. I was ready to ask if it was 2touch calling when the caller (in a Sunderland accent) said they were ringing from BT. She agreed, to which I said politely as possible, that I'd ring their nuisance calls dept directly to remove my number from their calling lists as I was registered with the TPS. She replied saying that she would remove my number immediately herself and thanked me for my time; she was polite, so overall it was a very low aggro exchange.

Hoping this has ended the calls and will be spared the grief others have had...

10 calls yesterday!  Called the 01915257000 asked to be put through to customer complaints dept who have assured me our number will be taken off the list.  They appeared to be straight up and once I mentioned that if they call again I will be contacting the police they seemed to take more notice.  We are TPS registered.  This is the second attempt to get this done so we will see.  Our next step will be legal proceedings and I hope they read this blog.

This number calls then hangs up - what can we do?

I've had this number call me 8 times in the last 3 days. Luckily I have caller display so have never answered it but I will be phoning 0191 number and getting this stopped. Whats the point in TPS if not all companies have to sign up to it? I never give out my home phone number and I'm ex-dir so it will be intersting to see what they have to say for themselves. Will post back with how it went.
