Report a phone call from 08004082680 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- JoWhat a useful service this website is! I missed a call from them today and googled the 08004082680 number and found this. Have rung Axciom and the girl who answered offered to put me through to the automated line where I can remove my number. I agreed but pointed out that given I was ex directory and signed up to the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) it's rather puzzling that this didn't stop them ringing me, so I will be putting in a complaint too.
I've also had a whine to Virgin Media today too; they keep sending me bits of paper trying to entice me to their service and wasting trees while they're at it. After four attempts to have my details removed I think I might finally have got somewhere. I'm on a roll today ;)
Bleatingly,
Jo- Caller: assume Axciom or subsidiary
- jimbob| 3 repliesD-Day is approaching..heard that BBC watchdog have infiltrated them and are collecting proof which may be used in a court of law.
Can't wait til they 'name and shame'..it will be interesting to see how far up the ladder this goes and also those who are on the end of the phone lines (even if they are students!) - No replyWe are continuing to recieve calls from 08004 082362 and have been for the last few days, including weekends. Although not the same number as being discussed in this forum the 08004 is not list in the call charges published by BT. For various reasons we do not answer our landline phone but always check to see who has called via 1471 after it has stopped ringing. Needless to say we have not returned calls as we do not recognise the number. Due to the 0800 prefix on the number we have been tempted to call due to the large number of calls received. Thanks for the warnings.
- nemhook replies to Johnya know TPS doesn't affect BT and there special offers to people who have a BT telephone?, you have to request that BT do not call you themselves, and they provide offers on vision and broadband which isn't available on there website, and the reason 2touch call is because BT outsource there special offers, i'd rather have an english speaking person that somebody from india calling me to sell [***].
All you have to do if they call is tell them you would like to be taken off there list and its a simple as that, moaning and crying about it doesn't fix the issue, just answer it and tell them normally. - Barrys dog replies to jimbob| 2 repliesWell that's just not true! These people are just doing a job! I had a conversation with one of these people and asked why I kept getting called back, they said that if I took a minute to explain why I wasn't interested( I previously just hung up) they could update the system correctly, he was very polite and helpful, and 6 weeks later, still no calls, I don't understand why people get so aggrivated for nothing, a 2 minute phone call won't kill you. And if you don't want these calls then don't tick the box on questionairs or contracts that say "tick here to receive great offers", simple really
- Doreen replies to Barrys dog| 1 replyI agree with the comment above, I'm always nice to cold callers because these people are just doing a job and probably have to speak with some horrid people during the calls they make.
When I was called I let the girl explain what she was offering, and it was actually very good but I don't like to buy over the phone, she happily said she wouldnt call me again and thanked me for my time
It is 3 weeks now and she stayed true to her word, I can't fault that.
It's not a big deal at all, there is no need to go wild over these calls, some people need to learn to relax. - Mark replies to DoreenThanks above! I used to work there and it was a really tough job with about 400-500 calls a day! It was very stressful as its a company that employs regular in my city, so I needed work to support my family and had to spend a lot of my day being shouted at by people who seemed to think I was calling just to try to annoy them!! I am no longer there but I empathise with those who still do as they don't know who you are, your name just pops up on a screen!
If u tell them your on tps they won't call again, but ex directory means nothing.
And as above said, stop ticking those boxes then!! That is the way they get your details! Because you have agreed to it! That is literally the only way they get your info! So maybe try to rean contracts in the future eh?
Sorry to rant but I hate people moan for the sake of it
