    keep calling but not speaking its the same number other people have put!!! how can i stop this, its annoying.

    Have called four times in last hour. First time we put it to a wrong number.
    Have now called twice and then hung up straight away.. third time just no noise,, so i hung up. just getting irritating now.

    I am a Virgin customer so I rang them. They gave me a BT number to ring 0845 602 4141. Great service by virgin, but the number is just an answer machine that says There is no-one available at present to take your call and it then hangs up. About as useless as a chocolate fire guard.

    Oh well looks like a letter to the BT chief executive  (AGAIN). If anyone knows an e-mail address of anyone senior in BT, place it on here and we can all send them an E-mail every 20 minutes and see how they like the continual interuptions.

    Just tried the number(0800 800 500 ) placed here by another 'angry' phone user. Obviously BT got too many calls on the number so sold it to the NSPCC, so please don't ring it and then hang up as we then become the nuisance callers.

    This number has been calling me for an hour, and when I answer noone is there. Its doing my head in, but Im not going to ring the number back they can get lost.  But Im pleased other people have put their comments on because now I at least know its BT - the little s***s

    Can somebody clarify what digits are needed to turn the system off altogether?

    I used 1 and 2 which reported that my curfew would be "changed" in the next 20 minutes. At no point did it give me an option to actually "choose" a curfew or "disable" the service.

    This kind of service should be OFF by default and the fact that it isn't is entirely down to the TOTAL INCOMPETENCE of EVERYBODY AT OFTEL and the ENTIRE GOVERNMENT.

    There is absolutely no need for this sort of rubbish service, and everybody in government whether at oftel or elsewhere needs to be threatened with the immediate sack if they don't insist that the default is OFF for EVERYBODY that hasn't specifically ASKED for it.

    Fed up with theses calls!!!
    08005875290 calls recieved at all hours and now got really fed up.     I have just called BT & they were extremely helpful & have now blocked my phone from SMS calls. I called BT on 0800 800 150. Best of luck to you all...

    4 calls in 20mins- when I recalled it was BT SMS texting and they gave a web address which advertised this service - this is anew low in cold calling - 5th call as I e mail you now - aargh

    I had cancelled my contract today and texted from the phone around 11.30am i think the person tried to text me back on the home phone and it did not stop rining up to the point of 1.30 i disabled the sms alert now bec it was driving em insane. but it sounded like someone put the phone down on the other end when i last picked it up which was strange. either way i checked the inbox on my phone for the text message and there was nothing there.. what the hell?

    just got my new virgin media phoneline in today and my wife went out and bought a new cordless phone. its a bt snergy handset and i thought id have a go and see if i could text with it, so i text my mobile phone and it worked.however, i have now had 8 calls from this mumber, i have followed the advice here and called up bt and choose to opted out of this service. but still the calls are coming. really annoying!!!
