Looks like an NHS Stobhill number. - feefifofumThis is a general NHS Scotland switchboard number for outgoing calls only, I had calls from a department from the Forth Valley royal, and the same number came up when I received a call from the Queen Margaret Dunfermline. The person phoning me the first time was sensible enough to leave me a message to let me know who it was and gave me a number to phone back! It seems if anyone phones you from an NHS Scotland telephone it comes up as this (or a very similar) number.
- Caller: NHS Scotland
- SaIts a hospital number. Not necessarily Glasgow as I attend Forth Valley Hospital and had a phone call this afternoon from the Dr I've been seeing
- sandra replies to JobsworthIts an NHS number! It can be you doctors surgery, hospital, they all come under that number.
- sandygirl replies to DavidIts a general NHS number in Scotland. If any hospital calls me or my doctors surgery to give results or change an appointment etc. this is the number that comes up. It costs more for them to call mobiles so would imagine they would choose a land line first. Maybe the call was for who ever had your new number before you. It doesn't take incoming calls.
- camasaThis is a NIH Scotland number; it is to let you know that they have an appointment for you. Unfortunately you cannot call them back because the number does not accept incoming calls. You have to contact them some other way.

- Rob Ce| 1 replyThis number was my local surgery - it is a general number used by the NHS. Do not ignore, it is probably related to your health and therefore important ! Don't assume it is a call centre, as i did originally :-)

- bandikootThis number has called twice today and I have, of course, ignored it, presuming it to be some sort of Call centre. Out of curiosity, I typed the number in and up popped this forum. Thank goodness for this forum actually. This first thing that springs to mind is that this is a totally unacceptable way for the NHS to be contacting people. As I'm sure most people will agree, we are constantly plagued with nuisance marketing calls - even with TPS - we don't seem to have much control over whether we get peace in our own homes from the menaces.
For the NHS to be using a generic number like this cannot possibly be for the benefit of the patient, as 9 times out of 10, it will be ignored, suspecting it to be a nuisance call.
Since I can't call it back, I shall have to wait and see if it calls again to answer it, that's if I'm actually near the phone when it happens. :-\
