I had 3 calls from this number in quick sucession today. My Husband & I both attend hospitals regularly, so if it is an NHS number & we cant answer it at the time & cant call it back  could be dangerous.

I am so annoyed at NHS. I am pregnant, I have just had blood tests a week ago and someone decided to phone at 6pm on friday evening, this is the second time this has happened in the past 2months, I now have to wait the whole weekend to find out who and why they phoned. I dont think there is a problem as they phoned out of hours and didnt leave a message but it is extrememly unprofessional and I am definatley going to be putting a complaint in as it isnt on!!!

i just had a missed call on my phone fom this number,and they left me a voice mail of themselves coughing......cheeky [***]! how the fook did they get me number???????

This number called my home and hung up when I answered. I did 1471 and returned the call and it said "this number does not accept incoming calls" then cut me off. Kind of wierd but my ex works for the NHS.... I may have a stalker!

Just got a call and it was my friend in Hospital in Glasgow - stobhill.

got a call from this number at 8.05 this morning, if its hospital, then its not accepting incoming calls.

I work in a Ladies Fashion Shop & received a call asking about opening hours etc. So obviously staff are using this as a private line .As it is a 0800 no. does this mean it`s free for them to call out on?

Im pretty sure it is a generic NHS generation number.

Missed the call but coincided with a call I was waiting to receive from NHS Tayside.

Yes its a generic NHS number - got a call from a secretary in Perth Royal Infirmary and this was the number I got when I did 1471

Yes, defo NHS!!!  I blanked this number because I thought it looked like a dodgy Indian call centre and it turns out it was my gf calling me from her desk 'cos her mobile's battery was dead!!!
Ha ha ha! She was furious!

They dont let it ring for long eh?  I@ve no idea who it is but i'll be calling to check my hospital appointment is still on next week just incase.  6pm is an odd time to call tho.

It's been confirmed as an NHS number by a friend who says this number shows up if her mum calls from work.  i called and checked my appointment next week is still ok, which it is, although I've had another 2 missed calls today- it doesn't ring for long, very annoying!

ive been callled a couyple of times by this number and i live in the north of scotland.. but i have had no contact with the nhs or hospital in years.???

count fife in as well ... persistmant to say the least .. either early morning or late afternoon .. does not accept incoming calls .. on a 0800 number?????
