Got a call from this number today at 1600 hrs, it was the distric nurse, i asked about number and they stated it is a recent change due to not previous being able to get through to folk who have refuse with held numbers service on line, so the n.h.s. changed to this.

This is for a doctors surgery in glasgow

This number is used by most NHS Hospitals in Scotland, the number used to be witheld!!

keep geting them they just hung up by the time you answer even on first ring????????? quite annoying as my mother in hospital at moment in dunfermline

My husband calls me from NHS Fife and this is the number that comes up on my phone.

I was awaiting a call back from NHS-24, not sure if this is them but they rang,  I kepy saying hello... but no-one would speak, after about 10seconds they hung up.

This number came up as did the message not receiving incoming calls. It was generated out OF Edinburgh NHS about an appointment. Having read these posts I rang in an ascertained the source.
The reeptionist did not seem to want to understand that proposing that a tag such as 'This is a generic NHS number that cannot receive incoming' would dramatically reduce consternation caused by very private personal numbers apparently being on somebody's data base. It then assumes the category of email notifications that cannot be directly replied to - a helpful model perhaps?
Presumably most incoming NHS calls are 'expected' as was mine.

This number called at 07:02 am on a Sunday morning. Very annoying and no response on the other end. Live in London!

My wife phoned me and this is the number that showed up. She works at the New Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh So it is an NHS Number

i confirm that this is NHS Scotland, District Nurse in Edinburgh called me using this one

Received call from this number today, missed the call and when tried to call back, said it would be chargeable but could not put me through.  I also work in NHS, wondering if its a centralised number.

It's the number that will show up instead of withheld for all calls from anyone calling from an NHS Scotland exchange.

Received 3 missed calls from this number yesterday morning at 06:37 , 06:38 and 06:41  - would have thought a bit early for NHS to call to change appointment?

yeah i just googled it cos i got a missed call, my mum works for NHS in edinburgh so reckon it was her and is just a random number any NHS phone gives...surprised there was so much about it online!
