We are receiving a ridiculous amount of calls from this number daily.

i wish people would listen to the previous comments and stop writing that they dont kno who this is! Its a general nhs number to withhold number - can be any hospital, community mental health team or any other nhs team. So if you are being called by this number it is the nhs and you should probably kno the number to phone back.

Thanks for the recent information about this number.Called today but did not answer icase it was a call centre trying to sell you stuff,But will answer the call next time.waiting on an operation to get done.

who is calling me

Have had 3 calls from this number (08006783393).  Just received one today (Thursday 24th March 2011) at 13:05.  Had one on Monday 28th Feb 2011 at 09:43.  Call did not ring long enough to let me answer or to connect with my answerphone.  When I dialed the number "this number does not accept incoming calls" is what the female voice on the other end said.

I got this call today but it left half a message about being entered into a £50 prize draw and if I didn't want contacted again to press 9 - so I doubt its NHS

On the contrary I think it may be a "masking" number that the NHS may use but is also used by others - being left a message about a £50 prize draw and being given an option not to be contacted again isn't consistent with an NHS reminder call

I answered it and it was the Glasgow Council On Alcohol.  They call my work to book meeting rooms for them to meet clients.

It's a call from someone in the NHS.  Usually a hospital or clinic or resource centre rather than a GP.

I am in Cambridge and just got a call from the number, so not sure about the Scotland NHS thing.  I answered the call but nobody spoke.  Will not answer again.

don't know who this is

got two calls this evening (Easter Saturday at 1930) from this 0800 number. answered both calls but received total silence apart from a bleep.  From the many other comments on this site it seems that someone in the NHS is having fun and games and causing mayhem. Shouldn'tthey be working?

Like other people I keep receiving calls from this number and also another number 02920822691 and I do not answer either. Is there any way that I can stop receiving these calls

Ive had this number call me twice today, i never answered because i did'nt know the number and do not know how they managed to get a hold of my number. i've read some of the comments and seen that it mite be somthing to do with glasgow nhs appointments or somthing or other,but i live in ayr and dont know why they'd be calling me,its strange.

I got a call from that number at 0706 on a sunday morning!
