my 95 year old mum in hospital, so can one imagine what my heart did? idiots! I never answer an unknown number, so it takes a little time to fire up my internet,work with a dongle, by time i trace ,ive nearly had a heart-attack! dont even live in that health area!

they rang mob and home and left no message--this is not good!

my dad was in royal infirmary glasgow. nurse let him use hospital phone to call me to let me know he was getting out.1471 showed this number. defo not a nuisance call.. an appreciated one...

i have had a call off this number today now that ive read this forum i know its nhs but how do we contact them to find out what they are wanting i am so worried somethings wrong as i just had tests done can anyone help

this is the NHS, in my case was the Edinburgh Stop Smoking clinic returning my call from the day before.

It's someone in the NHS phoning you, It could be a secreteray and to do with an appointment, might be worthwhile answering this one!

If you are returning a call to this, you should use a direct dial number for whoever you have been dealing with.

This is a call from the NHS. Anytime someone needs to contact you regarding a personal matter on behalf of the NHS will go through this exchange. Hope this clears your query.

had about 10 calls within the hour dodgy no one speaks they want your d.o.b. and name on their automated service watch out.

Had a couple of calls over the last few days from this number - never been in so not sure which part of the NHS is calling - not left any message.  Did 1471 - surely they shoud have a message on this saying it is the NHS??  Worried now, as dont know why NHS are trying to contact us!

I got a call just before midnight, which woke me up, but I didn't answer the phone in time - no message left and number wouldn't take incoming calls.
They called back 10 minutes later to say a relative was being taken to a new ward but no need for me to go up to the hospital!  So why phone so late?

Missed a call an hour ago which led me to this website.  Just like everyone here says, it doesn't accept incoming calls so I'm unable to trace it.

This, and similar websites, all claim it's a generic number from the NHS but there's no mention of this number on search engines to confirm this.  

However I would rant that, if it is indeed the NHS, then the caller should leave a messgae or call from a number which accepts incoming calls.  As I have not visited a hospital or Doctor in years, my mind is now running riot with horrible scenarios as to why the health service would contact me out of the blue on a number which I don't give out.

This number called at 10:50 on a thursday evening, tried to call back but does not take in coming calls, concerned that someone trying to call at this time of night!

It's the maternity unit at the glasgow royal infirmary.

Just had one of these calls from the number - at 6.30 am Sunday morning, naturally am concerned as have family, one of whom has v poor health.  Also have relative at the Golden Jubilee.  As stated here many times, no message left and as I didnt get to the phone in time am now considerably worried.  Cannot believe that nuisance callers would start at this time on a Sunday morning???

We are on the Do Not Call registry - how did this number call us anyway? Aren't companies who call numbers on the registry supposed to be fined?

Got a call from this number - Foreign person on line - eventually [ could not make out what they were talking about ]  and basicall told them ''to do one'' Wonder if they will call again
