ok where do i start! i am single, live on my own, work full time, and have 3 kids.. 2 of which live with their parent and my youngest lives with my parents. i have regular contact with all of my children every week. i see my oldest 2 at my parents with my youngest. the parent of my oldest 2 pays nothing towards their upkeep of weekend visits. i pay towards their up keep every week and buy them toys, clothes, food and days out. CSA contacted me every year for the past 6 years. i explained the situation and they said to me it was ok and they would not contact me again as i was spending enough money on them each week. continued to get phone call every year. i am not working full time since dec and they contacted me then and i again explained how much i was payin for their up keep as the other parent would not contribute towards their stay, they again said that was ok. i then get a letter through from them DEMANDING 8 years of backdated payment?!?!?!?!? who the hell does this company think they are?!?!? harrassing me every year for money that i already pay and now demanding backpayment!! they seriously need to get their facts straight and update their system properly! last week took all my children on holiday for a week.. all they arrived in from their parent was the clothes they were wearing... i provided everything else and also sent them home in a new school uniform ready to start their next school! so how can they have the nerve to demand more money from me after they said i was payin more then i had to anyway?!?!?!

In my case it was the CSA phoning me to update me on my case.

Look up NACSA, they're really helpful. Costs a bit but their service is good & independent - and for £30 per month they take over all communication with CSA for you - without them you have no barrier against their wrath and they won't rest until they've got you with nothing but the shirt on your back if you're in arrears. Their powers become limitless if they decide you're owing no matter if that's their error; they are the judge, the jury (they have their own pocket court), and executioner (they have their own bailiff). They will make sure you can't appeal to any of their decisions at their tribunal for clerical reasons. YES children should be supported by both parents, but CSA is not about children. Child Support is dealt with so different in the UK from the rest of the EU that the other countries don't even recognise it as being child support - UK residents are being treated like vermin under the current policies, there are loads of stories like yours, if there ever was a reason for a public revolt this would be it.

20 consecutive calls one after another and nobody has the decenby to talk at the other end maybe you have the time to answer the phone we dont

They called today to tell me that they are closing my claim. I thought it finished when he became 19 but they say not.

I have recieved a call from the Csa 08007838527 and this was a genuine call, did worry at first and asked all questions regarding case, before handing over any information.

It's not the DWP, I work for DWP and I got a call froom this number twice today, first on my mobile which I missed the call, then on my house phone, they knew my first & surname, when I said yes speaking, the woman then said "can you confirm your national indurance number" I told her no, where are you calling from, she said no she cannot say untill i give my national insurance number, I asked do you think I'm stupid. anyway she continued to listen to me have a go at her, and I could here her tv in the background.
I cut the phone.
when i called back the number, the message said."we tried to call you today but you was out we will try again later.

IT'S A SCAM!

Alright, I just got called by this number on my mobile ;)
They were asking for a person (that I believe is one of the previous tenants).

So the lady goes: Are you Mr........
I respond NOPE, you must have the wrong number.
But she keeps insisting. So again I tell her that I'm not that person.
She asks me who I am. So I tell her:YOU ARE CALLING ME! Who are you?
She responds that she looking for Mr....... on personal business.
Tell her: already told that I'm not that person!
She said: ok I'll check for another number.
YES PLEASE DO THAT!!!!!! byeeeeee ...and I hung up.

I think hmmmmm and this on my mobile nr? I tried to call that number, but got their infamous message: we'll call back later.

How do they get my mobile nr with another name? Strange!

i had a call from then tonight ragarding my late ex husband after the call i thought i had just been conned into giving out my personal details but after reading  all ur comments i now know its legit and they genuinly have money to give me lol x

Christine, you are the second person to unfairly have a go at Ralph. All he said was that it was a legit number! You are also another person to have a go at Labour (who were in power at the time these posts were written). Do you really think the Tories would be any better? Come on! I'm sure they'll be getting rid of more 'red tape' to enable private corporations to get hold of your private information to enable their pals in the boardrooms of big businesses to receive a few more million in bonuses each year. However, I am of the opinion that voting for Labour or Conservative will result in nearly the same thing, apart from Labour throwing a few more scraps to the poor. Writing to your M.P. is very likely to result in absolutely nothing, as the loyalty of these 'care once in four years soundbite manufacturers'  is to the party and not to their constituents

Also Christine, you are another person who has implied that this kind of intrusive action would be carried out by a communist state (Daniel above suggested that Labour were becoming more communist because of this!!!). I would just like to point out that these are really more the actions of a fascist state. However, you were correct to say communist states- as the Marxist/ Leninist communism (having a communist party in power) can and often will lead to a stifling hold over a country. These communist states, however, do not adhere to communism in it's purest sense. This could be described as a classless and stateless society, where the means of production (land, capital) are under common ownership. Note 'Stateless'- no government means no-one prying into your business and no-one trying to control you. Anarchist-communism would result in 'to each according to need, from each according to ability'. No state, no money and the only way true democracy can exist. This would result in no annoying sales calls, no scamming calls, but many more phone calls from friends and family due to a much more harmonious, trustworthy and loving society. Ive just answered the phone to this number and they wished to speak to my husband, i said he was unavailable and asked if i could take a message, the man was very rude and said 'its personal i will phone back in an hour' I explained he would not be avaiable then either, I asked for his name and contact number so he could phone back, he refused as its a personal matter and would write instead.  So it will take me a few days before i know if this was job centre or csa! Daft thing is I open all mail and sort for hubby's attention or pay bills etc, so if it is the DWP, why all the secrecy, why not just say its 'john Brown from.....job centre plus/csa/dwp etc'?????

I  had this this number contact me 3 times. 2 men and women left sperate mesages saying it was a private and confidential matter and gave me a number to call to speak to someone. When i called this number it was a ortimated message saying 'thankyou for registering your vote'"!!!!! SCAM.....

If it is the CSA or JSA why are they calling on a saturday morning ?

I got the call today - girl asked me to confirm my NI number - i did not....wanted date of birth and address regarding child maintenance for my daughters she named correctly which i have been paying for ten years under a documented agreement with my ex wife she named correctly too. Apparently my ex wife had opened a case with the CSA and decause of this they have to progress it with me, i asked why she had done that after 10 years and the caller told me she would check with my ex wife and get back to me.......she did not and the ex wife knows nothing about it!  Tried to call back and get a message "sorry i was unavailable when they called, we will call back later.

Anyone have similar experience?

If your ex has applied for any of the state benefits, your agreement will be mentioned as 'income'. This is where the CSA get interested and start sniffing around to see if they can get involved.
