After ringing the CSA over a month ago to tell them that my working tax credit had been reduced by £20 a week and could they recalculate my Child maintenance payments to reflect the lower income, I gave them until the 29 April to give me the new calculation if nothing received by this date then I would cancel the DD - which I did so as from today they have started ringing me again, even though I've told them they can ring me at work (which they didn't rang my mobile) or put everything in writing.

I just got a call from this number asking for my partner, I asked who was calling and the woman ignored the question. I tried calling back and it went to an automated voice saying I was unavailable today and they will call back later, no hint as to who it is. :/

ive had a few calls from this number..it is the csa...but what baffles me is when you have to ring them its a 0845 number,yet when they ring you its a free phone number......that just says it all dosnt it really,

Its the job centre number Re benefit claims such as LSA etcc its legit

Its CSA. They were just ringing to confirm my bank details have been updated

Looks like this is definalty a government agency phoneline, which whilst used by multiple agencys they give different 0845 numbers to call back on, my was the CSA.

i had a call from this number but when icalled it back it didnt say who the caller wa and i would like to know who it is?

Was called by this number 3 times today but didn't answer it, they seem desperate to get hold of me.  Could well be the CSA, will keep you posted!

Yes I also recieved a phone call today, but was weary of answering cos of the number, when they asked for my name, I asked who this was firstly, but they didnt give me any info, so they rudely said They will be sending a letter!!
Not impressed, got very concerned all day!

Hi Richard I agree with you the csa need to do their job properly.
My husband paid child support for years, his son is now 20, two years ago we got a letter to say he owed £6000, we were shocked and wanted it all NOW

My husband said he paid a debt collection agency Philips, and said it was clear.
I tracked the company down and it was confirmed he had paid it all up.

I phoned them to tell them, they was so rude, and said well, send us the evidence, I said you set them on to him in then first place, so you must have records of all payments.

They said no, I sent them the payment details, and they agreed they had made a mistake, and said they owed him actually £6700 and hang out paying him out, and we had to get our MP to deal with them, 6 months he took to get paid out, they said the system wasn't up dated correctly and were sorry.
We went to our local papers about it, as it's disgusting how they can make such a huge mistake.
We had to make payments of £100 a month while we sorted out the past payment details, and the moral goes, if you owe them, you get harassed big time, when they owe you, by them making a HUGEEEEEEEE mistake over £6000 mistake you have to fight to get it back.

If you think they have made a mistake fight them we did, and won, go to your local MP to help you, we did and when we did they soon backed down, we got LIAM DUNCAN SMITH involved head of DWP

Do the same please you all need to stick together, the system can make mistakes, we are living proof of that

I am a receptionist in an office in Liverpool, and I keep getting this number on my switchboard.
Sounds like a fax is on the line, bloody annoying as I could be upstairs and have to run to the switchboard, After putting phone number into Goole they came up with this number being from the CSA.
I understand that they might have to get in touch with the HR Department of the company, but could they make sure that it does'nt sound like a fax on the line and nears deafens me!!

Y cant they leave a proper message to y they called instead of leaving a message sayin they called and will call again later.

i used to work for HMRC and when we have to call people we have to ask security questions before we can usually even tell you who we are. we can advice hmrc but specific depaartment normally.

although its obviously not a comfortable thing to actually do the advisors cant do it any other  way for data protection.

they have to give you a number to call back if u dont believe its them

Glad you left - perhaps the misspelled HMRC communications will now improve.

The called today and wanted me to give them somweone elses tel number, who does not live at my address.

this is the csa as i have just phoned the number i have for them as i have a case open with them and they confirmed this was one of their numbers and they were just calling me to let me know about my ex having to pay more to me and when that will take effect and like i said to the guy i spoke top the lady refused to tell me who she was so i refused to give my personal details

I made a claim for csa on 3rd of august as my son's dad is shafting his responsibilities & making excuses all the time, & 08007838527rang me on the 11th of august at 5.35pm & left a message saying this is janet from a government agency about a business matter & to call an 0845 number I couldn't even hear - so why are they ringing me when the person I spoke to when making the claim said I will be contacted via post!!
