Most telephone numbers are recycled and, as she asked for someone else, that person probably had the number before you.  The fact thst only10 people in your circle know the number doesn't count.  Perhaps she rang on Saturday because the DWP like to think most of us are gainfully employed Monday to Friday (:  Hope the taxpayer isn't paying her overtime!

just had a call from 08007838527 . caller would not identify themselves .

I had a call from this number both on Saturday and today and both calls were genuinely from the CSA

I recieved a call today from this number, leaving a message on answer machine (which had to play 12 times just to understand because of how fast they spoke) Dwp they said was ringing from, i eventually got the number and rung back but to have no joy,
I rung the helpline desk but to be told its not one of there numbers and be careful in case of scams. ..
Sounded very genuine on my answer phone to ring back,   0800 7838527 very worrying if i had answered

This is a genuine number used by the DWP / CSA who are processing a query on my case.
If you put away all the conspiracy garbage, and speak to them, they will give you a direct line to contact them on in the future.
I've been hammered for over 10 years by the CSA with a series of foul-ups, so am no advocate of theirs either.

Had 11 missed calls from this number in the last 24 hrs!  One at 0815 this morning. Sounds like the same automated woman voice when you call DWP

It's the csa I'm dealing with them for an absent father payments so I answer to them as the number is stored in my phone. Not a scam number at all

Yes it is the csa because I am owed payments they ring me from this number that I now have stored in my phone so I know who is ringing me and speak to them regularly. It's not a phishing number as other people keep saying.

Got this call, wasn't ringing for long. Seems like CSA but CSA does not exist anymore it's CMS, upon calling my case handler at CMS my account has been attempted to be accessed numerous of times and is now blocked. Took ages to get back in to my account.

when you do call back it is an automated answer.and when you find out it is the
csa you cannot get through to them.any ideas to get them to pick up the phone.

My son received a message from this number, but the chap on the other end spoke so quickly & indistinctly, he couldn't understand the message or the phone number given, to reply to! You say to 'answer your phones'.... is my son supposed to take the phone to the toilet with him?...I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate him taking the call in the middle of THAT! The only reason we knew which number called, was because his mobile logged the call.

Chased up this number and it was CSA regarding an old case.

Yep - exactly the same problem here. Message left. Chap (Keiran I think) spoke very softly with a broad Irish accent, & so quickly that after listening to his message over 20 times I still only have a partial number to return the call on...

Oh, and I don't think it'll be from the CSA for me, seeing as my son is 21 now - unless they're ringing me to tell me that they've finally managed to get 15.5 years worth of maintenance from his father... Ooh, that'd be lovely! But unlikely.
Probably from the DWP as I'm on ESA - hope they call before I go back into hospital on Friday for even more surgery...

Called saying from CSA asking for my NI number

I received a message from someone called Leon who claimed to be from DWP and left an 0345 number to call and asked for me to have my National Insurance to hand. When I called this I discovered it was the CSA. As I have no children younger than 25 I hung up. Very strange.
