Its the CSA. They rang me to tell me that I was still owed £2000 (my daughter is now 21) and thatthey had been in touch with my ex partner's employer and could still recover what was owed.

This number is causing problems with a direct line for the above company

This number phoned my sons mobile, we missed the call and we rang back,. only for them to tell us we had missed their call.  My son worried all weekend until we thought to google it.  I am raging with what ever agency this is!!!  Its so unfair to leave people high and dry. Could they not have the cumption to leave even an automated message with a short explanation?

Not ALL us men are like that Joanna and you have a very jaded view on life.
I have 2 children. One who lives with me and has done for almost 14 years, the other one lives at the other end of the country.
I have always paid for the one not living with me and have never received a penny from the mother of the one who lives with me, BUT you don't hear me shouting about selfish dreadful mothers do you?
As for your "have it cut off" remark......should I insist his mother has a great big plug put in it? ....NO, because I am the one who has my child live with me and that is reward enough, so please stop tarring all men with the same brush.
Yes, you may have got a rough ride, BUT there are always two sides to a story and I wonder what your child's father would say about you?


In answer to the original post regarding the phone number, YES, this is the CSA and NO, they have never helped me in any way so in my opinion they need to be shut down and let the benefits agency take over and maybe they could do a better job.

This phone number is Indeed the CSA and they will harrass you to the ends of the earth if you do not answer . If unsure , just hang up and phone them back . Yes , the system that they use is completely hopeless and the company , as i understand it , is soon to be disbanded .

They need to look back to when it did actually work , i.e... in the days when the tax office used to run this side of collections as it is now known . It was a much fairer system and did not deprive good , honest , hard working men and women of between 35% - 70% of their earnings . This i feel is a scandal ! I agree with Marcuso completely , that not everyone is the same and the fact that people even feel this way shows how much our country still lags behind the rest of the world .

Anyway , as a rule of thumb , if in doubt , ring them back !!! Disclose nothing until you are sure they are legit !

i have just had a call from 0800 7838527 asking for a Mr....... who actually doesn't live here, asking me/or should i say him to call back on 0845 something or other, yesterday i had the same thing, same voice but from 08009949103 asking for the same MR but slightly different name, i'm very confused! both times it states he should have his NI number ready, oh and the caller says they are calling from DWP, not really sure this is correct!!! 2 calls 2 numbers 2 names?! also the call logged was the 0800 numbers but on using 1571 it says a diff number.... 01424 811355 ??

I have 1 thing to say bout c.s.a [***] them, them can ring of my phone till they get bored I give my children money and I spend time with them, it's the mums that DONT wanna work that reports dads before they go look work and do some thing with there lifes than stayin @ home.

I was called today - they claimed they were the CSA, they wanted my n.i. number to confirm I am me- I told them no. I would find the CSA number for myself and call back tomorrow, she offered me a number to call - yeah right. I restated I would google the correct number tomorrow and call.

It may well be a legit call, but......... the government spends millions on their campaign about identity theft, not giving out your personal details to cold callers (This was a cold call). Soooo are the govenrment departments thick or are they just wasting their money on the campaigns as they expect you to ignore their own advice..............

Well leave a message on answer machines and stop scaremongering people.....hearts flutter and skip beat when you get phone calls from this number. Put it in writing and explain yourselves maybe we'd answer the phone next time........

Some people pay above and beyond for their past, without being chased for extras. Don't get discounts for never seeing said children, don't even know where they live,if they're alive and are still in education!!! I tend not informing my partner that this number as rung as it makes into a nervous wreck....... whatever happened to letters....? Everyone has equal rights!

I've just missed a call from here - I don't understand why if it's CSA - I don't have any children!  If they can't leave me a message, I won't be ringing them back.

I've had a couple recently today 10am Sunday morning at my workshop. Not sure who they thought would be there. I don't get to the phone and the answer kicks in and it hangs up.

i had a call from this number this morning claiming they were DWP and calling to advice me that CSA want my childrens CTC at 26 a week... Since febuary!? And i would be receiving a letter in the post regarding this. Even though i have been in touch with the CSA several times since then? My hubby works p/t and earns less than 97 a week and we actually survive on less money than if we was on benefits, they dont take CTC into consideration if we was on benefits so WTF!!!! If indeed this was CSA posing as DWP for some strange reason as i said to them they are not getting another penny out of me and will have to take me to court :) they can [***] off.

Ive had a call from this number today at 2.22pm.  The woman was northern and quite short with me!  She refused to tell me where she was calling from and so I refused to divulge my NI number and D.O.B!  I was then told that she would have to terminate the call.  Fine with me!  Rude cow!  I phoned the number back and was instantly through to a recorded message which clearly stated that "Sorry you were unavailable when we called today.  We will call back another time."  Again, no mention of a company name!

It is a system it calles 1000+ random numbers and connects to 1st one to answer that is why sometimes it rings twice then hangs up. And has an auto response system which is why it repeatedly asks for same info and does not respond to questions in a satisfactory manner.

Like a lot of the comments on this site, it is the cloak and dagger approach, they adopt. You get a missed call from 08007838527.  So like 99% of people you return the call to get a message  that takes you no  further forward,  other than they will call again at some stage.
I have no objections to paying for the upkeep of my child, but I despise the CSA and their  attitude towards you,  especially when you question them.

I agree with people are saying here, I won't give information over the phone if I don't know who I'm talking too. If these people really need to talk to me they should say who they are and not start asking questions and if they don't like it they can write to me.

Don't you just love the Government Agencie.

This is the CSA when you call back in this number you get aa answerphone message saying "we tried to contactyou today and will try again later" if you call on 08456 090052 you actually get through to them.

I received a call from this number on a Sunday! . If this is genuine and the government,why are they working on a Sunday in a Christian country AND WHO THE B£$%^&Y H *&L authorised their overtime. I thought we were in a depresion...Just as a foot note . I work,(have done since I was 16) never claimed dole,support my children, am not of retirement age and do not enter my number on any paper work.
