I keep getting calls from this number but up to date they just hang up when I answer. I am really angery as it can happen at all times of day and night

Realy sorry but reading some of your other comments I now realise that it is the CSA Plymouth and totaly legitimate. I think they probably press redial and forget that your No. was not the last call.

This number does belong to the CSA I have had lots of dealings with them over the last 7yrs due to my ex partner not paying his child support and avoiding them at every cost to which they are now enforcing his debt of £10,000 through a liability order and bailiffs finally after 7yrs.

i had an odd call off these today.. sunday saying the where CSA but they didnt ask me any security questions and just staryed talking about my case.. im not dealing with plymouth office as my case worker is in berkenhead so think it is strangw that they would call on a sunday afternoon to ask me questions i answered last week and without proving who i am

Helen you're lucky you're getting somewhere my ex hasn't seen my daughter (his choice) for 9years and has tried every means available to avoid paying his maintenence.  My daughter added up how much he has outstanding and it's in the region of ££22,500!!

I have just received a call from 08007838527 and they just hung up. Not very happy about this at all.

Recieved a call from this number today, the person did not identify himself. The gentleman had a liverpool accent and asked for me by name. He claimed to be starting work for the company I worked for and asked about the benefits of joining the union, he then became argumentative and hung up on me. I would appreciate
finding out who had given him my phone details and the fact that I was a union rep

Got 1 call from 08007838527 on the 11th March - they hung up immediately when i answered

A while after that i got a call off this number 01612094880...a woman on the other end calling herself Jay asked who i was and then mumbled something about being from a financial services company - i said i was not interested and had to repeat myself about 4 times before she finally said no problem and hung up..
Today (12th March ) i tried calling this number back...it rings once....picks up and automatically disconnects

Got 3 calls from the number 08007838527 on the 12th March, approximately about an hour apart and every time that i answered the call they immediately immediately hung up??!!

Got 2 calls from this number today, ignored both as I tend to do that with calls from numbers I don't recognise.  They haven't left a voicemail message.  I have no involvement with the CSA as some others writing here have, so I doubt it's them.

Just this moment gotten off the phone with the CSA. This is absolutely and categorically their outbound number. They use it when they've been unable to contact you by mail (which was in my case because they had an old address).

Ringing the number back does indeed land you with an automatic message saying they tried to contact you (which is admittedly useless, as they don't say in the message who *they* are).

I then Googled CSA to find my local office and then after a little passing around, spoke to a pleasant lady who is dealing with my case.

So, it's NOT a scam, however it IS unhelpful as a means of contacting you.

This number rang once and hung up. When I caled it back I got a message saying "sorry you missed our call today we will try again later" and then ends without saying who they are.
I think its the CSA or some other government scum.

i got a call on a SUNDAY at 2pm. They wouldnt give my mom any information about who they were when she answered the phone as I was on the loo, yet they wouldnt hold for a minute to wait for me to come downstairs. I didnt think the DWP people worked on a Sunday...

DWP & CSA admin do not work on a Sunday. This is an old scam run over a VOIP network with a spoof caller ID. Just hang up and email the www.dwp.gov.uk ministers on ministers@dwp.gsi.gov.uk and at some point they will say enough is enough and get the police to shut it down. Were it genuine they would write.

its not CSA or DWP or whoever people keep saying it it. They tried to ring me, yet again, an hour after the last time. Spoke to me, asked for my NINO and i refused to give them it. They hung up so i tried to ring CSA up, and lo and behold, its closed as its a Sunday. Im no longer answering my landline on a weekend.

Yes and if you are asked to hand over personal data only ever do so on a number YOU call and that also appears on a www.dwp.gov.uk website or official DWP correspondence. These people are simply gathering data to defraud you with at a later stage and fill these forums with stooges saying it's genuine etc Any scam network can make any number show on your phone these days, so always hang up on cold-callers. this number called my mum and the woman asked for me i have not lived there for 22 years. when i tried to call it back i got an automated message that said "we tried to call you ,we will call back later" so i left it and 2 days later i receive a cheque from CSA after 16 years they decided to open up a case to see how much money they can get off of my sons dad. i dont know how they tracked me down because my mum gave them no information about me other than i havent lived there for over 20 years.

Oi Ralph...why would anyone who has NO children or WORKS for a living have need to speak with DWP?

maybe you can give us ALL a bigger insight into just how devious and sly your departments can be!

I had a call off this number and thay asked for my babys dad im not with  him I told them it wasn't his mobile number  but how did thay get my number I asked who it was thay said the goverment and its private matter for the dad weired
