Already pay ex through csa, but had a call today from this 0800 number wanting me to contact them with my NI number, why phone when an arrangement is in place? Would they be after a re assessment?

Might not be circumstances could of changed or to see if what your ex says is true

It's CSA!! They rang me to confirm a payment was going in to my account, it's not a scam!!

I got a call today from this number asking "could they place a order please"then she said right away oh have I called the wrong number?

This is the number for csa they use this number and you phone back a different number I suppose this is so they have free lines.

Got a call said her name was Martina, from the DWP, not so she's from the CSA, isn't it against the law for a civil servant to lie to you!

In my case it was CSA no government scam or whatever some people are saying it is on here.I understand in today's twisted greedy world we need to be careful of phone scams etc but this number is just another government number....deffinatly not a free 033 number that the hmrc are saying to use on there website,but hmrc none the less.

I have been receiving calls from this number at least 5 times a day, but I am deaf and employed therefore I am unable to answer the phone......I do have dealings with the CSA ( who doesn't ) but I managed to speak to a guy and I told him no point in calling me as I can't hear you ;)

I have just had a call from this number and can 100% confirm that it is from a government office, which houses the CSA, and possibly the work and pensions office as well.

How do I know, they left a message saying that the change of details I had passed to them at weekend had now been processed, and the payments I need to make were as discussed on the phone previously.

Take that up with politicians -  they're civil servants and would never lie to you.

This is the generaliosed outgoing number from the DWP - covers JobCentre Plus, CSA, Pensions, Income Support, ESA , etc.
The reason they ask for identity data is that they are extremely worried about giving away your data to others.  Every time that happens, the government gets bashed in the papers.

Contrary to they post that says they have done some digging and this number isn't dept of work and pensions they rang me and left a voice mail message and it most certainly is.

I have just received a call from this number, had a message left by the same person I spoke to last week at the CSA, so it is the CSA. It could be a general number that all Government departments show when making outgoing calls.

I had received this call and asked to speak to a George someone didn't get last name when i said you have the wrong phone number they went ok sorry to bother you and when i put the number it in my search engine it came up even the woman said i might have dialed  the number

I have received a call from this number 08007838527, 11:39hrs 24/02/2014. I called the number back and there was a message saying, "We are sorry you were unavailable when we called you. We will call you back later". I then Googled the number and came across this website. I have read the threads here and used one of the other alternative number given here. It certainly went to CSA. I answered my mobile as per normal but the caller had already hung up. I believe this may be CSA and I am not happy about receiving calls from them yet they dont talk to me. I know in the past this has happened and I received a letter to say, they are having problems contacting me. Yet each time they call, their call is so short that by the time I answer, they would have hung up. Please people, lets unite to eradicate this CSA bullying tactic. We want to work with them, yet they use timid methods to discredit us. Thank you.

You are asking another poster to call you? Apart from the fact that he posted nearly 7 years ago, even if he had been from the government department you need to speak to, he would be unlikely to see your message. You will need to contact them directly yourself.
