i was called on this number on 30.09.2009 at 18.13pm she said it was the c.s.a i called the number back no one there

I've had two missed calls from this number and found this thread, I have recently taken my ex to court as she kept my children from seeing me, I won and since then this number calls, I was made redundant 3 years ago and have lived on savings but it must be the last stab at me from the ex. Got to be the CSA...

Oh and I have a background in mobile technology, there is no way they need to call your mobile to gather data, they could go directly to your provider to get that information if they are allowed to...

had this number call me twice. next time the police will be involved.

It is the CSA...they are only trying to sort things and if you put everything down on paper they will look at it from both angles.

My hubbies ex has tried her best to screw everything she can from us and even threatens to turn up and leave the little girl with 2 strangers.

The CSA have looked at all this and contact us now every time she tries something on.

I get a daily call from these people around 10 am, cannot call back and tell them I am not in at that time so get this call every day.
Whoever it is they are persistent but very evasive - ring back and you get a 'we will try you again' message.
I read that this may be the CSA but that makes poor sense as my 'child' is now 21 years old.
I suspect this number represents a con and am glad I have never answered.

Just had someone call from this number and asked my other half (in a very aggressive manner) would not say who they were and would not leave a message.  He is involved in a case with CSA so am guessing it is them (especially as the children are due to come today and the ex has issues).  Not sure why they have used the landline number which is in my name when he has never given it to them as they have his mobile number!

The Child Support Agency have a poor reputation for truth and integrity. At least if they write to you, you have some evidence of their intentions. Taking a call from them is like writing a blank cheque.

Answered the call from this number. I was told it was the CSA. They asked a few questions for i.d but knew a lot of details about my daughters so i had no reason to doubt who it was. But then they asked if i lived at a certain address but it was somewhere i'd never lived & not an address i knew. Very odd. I ended the conversation at this point. This is no way for a goverment agency to behave. Any future calls like this will be told to address me properly by mail.

This is the CSA, we recently had contact from them to update the details of the kids absent father, and heard nothing more. They asked to speak to my wife this evening, but she was out.

She just said it was a "Government Agency" which was a little suspicious.

Hi all, this is the telephone number used by the Department of Work and Pensions. This includes Job Centre, CSA and Pension Service.

In days gone by it would just show as a witheld or unknown number however this obviously scared people and they wouldnt answer the phone.

IF you do decide to answer the phone to this number you will be asked to confirm some personal information to confirm your identity etc. This may include your date of birth, the last time you spoke to them, childs name etc. You will not be asked for your national insurance number etc.

If you do not wish to provide this information then that agency will write to you. However this may make the situation drag on.

The best thing to do, as with all unknown numbers is to ask to be given their main helpline number. This can be verified by going onto that organisations website.

You may not have given them your mobile number but if you are unreachable on the number they have they have the legal power to check certain databases such as credit reference agencies to find the most up to date info.

unlike a previous post the DWP has no ability to "triangulate" your position by ringing your mobile. I cant speak for any other government agency however the DWP cant.

Took a call from this number,asked what they wanted - they just gave a name and asked if they were there. The woman was very abrupt and when I asked who was calling she basically hung up. You all sure its the CSA and not the CIA !

Had 08007838527 ring me and ask for my D.O.B, foolishly I provided them with it and they provided me with my home address. They said they were from the CSA and wanted payment to clear arrears, I told them to go and jump. Having just rand the CSA number and not the one that rang me, they confirmed no one from the CSA had contacted me. Moral of the story never answer calls you don't know who it's from.

got a call from this number today and it is definatly the csa demanding information over the fone if you do speak to them just be careful what you say to them, despite reassurances about not recording the convo they try and get you to acknowledge or confirm what there saying it seems like there trying to catch you out and admit to things that they should request in writing. like other notes on here this is turning into a big brother state the uk is the new russia

Yup, defo the CSA, they just called and ask for money owing to them.. The real [***] thing is they want full payment NOW!!!, When I asked if I could make a couple of instalments & {I'm on about two}, they said NO WAY, we know how much credit you have access to and want it all NOW!! I was amazed that they new all my credit on all my cards and accounts, I still have no clue either, as to how they got hold of my mobile number as I never given it out to anyone but my friends...Boooo!!!!!

Apparently this is a csa number , but when they rang me this morning the guy said something about transport and asked me to verify my date of birth. I told him I wasn't giving that information out as I didn't know who he was. If he had identified himself properly I would have answered him. When I rang the number back again it did not identify itself and said it would call me back. They are ringing me so surely they know who they are speaking to. If I ring a company or government organisation then I expect security questions to confirm my identirty, but I object to being asked for personal information by an apparent cold caller.
