It is the csa, i just spoke to them

This number has called on my work number around 15 times in the last 3 hours, there is never anybody at the end of the line and I get a machine when I call the number. Whoever is calling is starting to interfere with my work - it's very frustrating.

Well my experience is totally different from you all.  I had a missed call today on my mobile from this number, so I called it back on the landline.  A voice answered 'Drink Line' I asked "Who are you" and he answered "we deal with people who have alcohol related problems".  Now I was confused because I don't drink.  I told him "I had a missed call from this number" and he replied "it couldn't have been from this number, we only accept incoming calls".  So I Googled 'Drink Line' and the number advertised was completely different to this one, so I then Googled this number and found this web site.  I can't believe the things I am reading, I don't have anything to do with the CSA, my daughter is grown up now 27 years old I work full time and do not receive any benefits, so why would they be contacting me?!!!!!!!!!!

I can also confirm that this is the CSA.
They were asking for my step daughters father and said that this was his phone. When I said no it wasn't, they said then you must have lent the phone to him. I told them I don't even know the man and he has never had my phone.
How they got my mobile number I have no idea.

I think this is a scam.  All these people saying "it's the csa/dwp" could just be working for the scam/data collection organisation surely? Afterall, anybody can post on here!

Dear sir/madam,

I have just received a call from this number this afternoon and the caller asked for Mrs Pamela Campbell, who is actually my ex-wife of a few years ago.  Mrs Campbell has never actually lived at, or even visited this house, so you can perhaps appreciate my concern that she should be registered at my phone number, especially as my house number here is ex-directory.

I asked the person who called me to say who he was calling on behalf of and he told me that he could not do this becuase of Data Protection.  I asked to speak to his superior, who was equally unhelpful when he came to the phone and eventually hung up the phone on me.

I find this whole set-up completely unacceptable and would like someone to contact me about this.

I had a phone call from this number on the 15th Feb, 17th Feb, and I had another call this morning, nearly a month later! They only ever ring for a couple of seconds and then stop. Am I getting prank calls from the government?!?!

surely letting us know its the CSA could be a lot easier, its a very underhanded way of doing things.
the only reason i can see they dont tell you who they are would be that your new partner may have no knowledge of you having children.
having said that if they are calling a mobile number the chances are the person they are trying to contact will answer the call.

Got a call from this number today "calling on a private business matter" and asking me to call back 0845 6090042.

Just called them and it is CSA

Had loads of calls from 08007838527 to my mobile and landline....they just hang up after a few rings and when you use dial back it says - "your were called today and were not available, we will call you back later!"...I presume this is the CSA but don't want to talk to me?...damn cheak if you ask!...if it is a phishing scam then I would really like to know how to stop it?

hi my partner received a call from this no saturday tea time, they said he had csa arrears of £13,000 and they wanted immediate payment, when my partner explained that he did not have csa arrears and that his maintenance was paid on time  they said it was money owed to the state to pay for his ex"s income support. my partner argued that although she left him 13yrs ago and we have a daughter together we should not have to pay her income support back , she made the choice not to work why should he pay for it , they keep calling and have threatened him with THE CRIMINAL BOARD.  can they do this?

Its the CSA, Social networking sites are also being watched these days, wonder if they are reading my emails too?

I got a call from a welsh woman working for a "GOVERNMENT AGENCY" asking me to call them back.

This number has called me also even though I haven't given this number to this agency (rather a concern).  Many of you may not be aware but this strategy of calling and hanging up is all that 62 government agencies now need to do in order to track your movements to quite a fair accuracy. Recently a new law was quietly passed which allows all telephony records to be access by any of 62 government agencies from the CSA to HRMC.  By calling the phone these agencies can then request the cell information for the mobile at the time the call was made.  Just to be clear this is the government allow itself to access the minutia of detail about your telephone usage. Your received calls, your dialled numbers, your call charges, URL’s you have visited with your phone; in short everything you do and everywhere you go.

Write to your MP and demand the repeal of this big-brother law.   Only the police and secret service should have this power and only then with oversight by the judiciary and strictly enforce controls.
