This is definitley the CSA!!! I received a letter with 08457138118 on it.

0800783527 is the number they give you to ring, which I did too.

So give them a call and see what they want or pay for your children (if you can that is!). Some people just don't have any money, it is as simple as that and people who criticise parents that don't pay, don't understand what it is like to have hardly any money to pay for yourself. Thats why there are benefits for children where the parents can't pay!

Anyway, remember one major thing - you can't hide from the CSA, it will just build up and build up and will cause you major problems down the road eventually. They calculate things based on your and your childrens needs and what you have coming in. Its not the chuilds fault is it!

i had a call from this number at 1300 on my mobile phone,
the same number phoned at 1900hrs
on the same night,not asking for me,but asking for my sons mother,
whem i have never lived with,when i asked whom called they said they was from the govermentmi asked what department,i got no reply

i recieved a call today from this number but my mobile ran out of charge
tried to call back but just got an answering machine
what happens now???

It's the CSA, I refuse to speak to them, they made a right mess of a claim I put in and they pee me off when they ask for my details and refuse to tell me who they are even though it's me they want to speak to about my existing claim. For the record, don't go to them to help you to get maintenance you may be entitled to they'll leave you high and dry and destroy your family. Useless idiots.

I called the CSA today to discuss my long-standing case, now finally coming to an end.  Had a call a couple of hours later from this 0800 number - rang once or twice and I missed it.  When I called the number back I got a recorded message that they would contact me again and then automatically hangs up.  Having found this website, I called the 0845 CSA number thinking they were trying to call me back and they confirmed the time I had called them earlier, but had no record of calling me since that time.  Very odd.

same thing happened to me! CSA pretending to ask security information about my details, without actually telling me a thing. My husband does not work but they want me to pay for his children, from a previous relasionship. Sad! can't take my wages but can my chlid tax credits. No justice at all, his ex partner gets working tax credit, child tax credit, and a part time wage, and also receives a percentage of my tax credits that i receive for my children. What is the world coming to. Tried to ring the number calling from CSA but does not receive incoming calls. Wonder what they will do next.

Got a call from same number today. The lady refused to say who she was and after a second time asking who she was I ended the call. Decided to ring the number later as to any clues who she was the number led to a message saying we tried calling earlier and will call again!!! Still none the wiser, however I will always decline that call if it's genuine dwp or Csa surely they can contact me by mail.

CSA number is 0845 609 0062, if you try to ring 0800 78308527 after a missed call it transfers to a useless automatic message.  Unless they identify themselves before hand....do not reveal who you are or any other personal details.  As for the plonkers above stating Job Seekers allowance and the presumption that they will be stopped, it describes their level of interlect, no-one can stop your allowances because you did not answer the phone.  By the way I am a civil servant of over 30 yrs and so I don't claim job seekers allowance.  They can write to me if they wish.

I recieved several calls from this number and refused to give them any information and so the call was ended. I spoke to the CSA today and they confirmed they have been trying to get in touch with me.

I recieve maintenance from the CSA from my ex wife for my children who live with me, they have a new system where they can text you when the money is in and they wanted to know if I wanted to participate.

This is a generic number generated by many government agencies when the nature of the call is priviate and only for the person intended. It is to prevent people doing 1471 and discovering something for example as a partener's child, adoption information etc. that they were previously unaware of.

The reason they say business matter because it's a breach of DPA to leave a message on an answering service where the caller can't be 100% sure if you're phoning the correct person.

I had a missed call from this number too,but on a Saturday?Why? They don't work that day,do they? I have been in touch recently with both the CSA, and with DWP. I have even been in touch with social work,but these people never seem to actually call you about anything at all,in fact I feel like I am forever needing to phone them to find out what is going on,orelse they send a letter.
Another thing is that I find if I am in touch with any agency (the above or student loans company) I always get fake e-mails re. "tax return" etc that always turn out to be somebody trying to get you to give them your bankcard details and obviously are total crooks.
Now I've got good security on my computer...does all this then come from poor security in the agencies computer systems?

the c s a , seem to have laws to themselves, we need to stand up and speak out , your m p should fight your case for you thats what we voted them in for , but then who votes for the laws to be passed anyway ? big brother is watching you !!!  
maybe ill be picked up now for speaking out .... watch this space !

i had a call from this number 2day bout 20 mins ago, the 1st thing they said to me is that so and so, i asked who was calling they said they cant tell me, so my reply was im not gettin said person for u as i aint a clue who u are, she then asked for my dob and other details which i never gave, then i said if u know my details then post it too me, she got all shirty with me, and said she was going to send a letter to my employer, which i said she could do if i had one, i dont claim benefits are work, im a student ffs, she said can i confirm ur address, and said if its on ur system then post the letter to me
the funny thing of all of this that they called me on a number that is not in my name or my address, the number in fact is not in no way associated with me in any way shape or form, my ex who i have a private agreement with for money doesnt even have this number, it shows that this country has gone to pot, hmmm i wonder how many privacy laws have been broken to obtain this number,

It's the CSA people ... end of.

i got a call from this no a stroopy cow was on the other end is that mr ---------- then i asked who is calling please i got AREyou mr ----------------i need to speak to mr ------------------ asking again who's calling please got the same responce with an attitude in her voice having found out by going through the back doors low and behold it's CSA i will be putting this in writing and sent to head offic because i dont like to be talked down to by any body
