rang yesterday at 8.45am silent call, not with british gas for anything and this is a new phone number, only had it a week and NO ONE has it yet so where have they got it from?

rang and hung up as soon as i answered hapens weekly

I have a contract with these for my boiler and received two calls from this number on the same day whilst I was at work which was most embarrassing as we are not allowed personal calls!

Constantly getting calls at all different times of day. Absolute nuisance !!!

daily calls unsolicited. i have now taken to waiting till the answer machine kicks in before answering the phone. they just ring off

Rang today at 1pm.  I didn't answer as I did not know the number on display.  Glad I didn't.  I am not a British Gas customer.

got a call from 08009806166 at 11.45 am ...answered it they just hung up......sad sods

just called me at 18.38 and then when i answered they hang up, disgusting...

just rang at 1405 and they hung up !!!!!

BG appear to also use this number to pester (remind) you to give them a meter reading if your on one of their online tariffs and within 2 days of the time they expect a reading.

Happens every month like clockwork, with me as I usually leave it until last minute, stupid thing is they act like telemarketers and only let it ring about 3 times.

I got a silent call from 08009806166 and this is not the first time. Who is it?

Got a call at 14.54 Monday 4/4/11 from 0800 980 6166 they were silent. Who are they and why do they do this?

I answered and the chap asked for my husband. Said he was out and could I take a message, he put the phone down. Rude as well as a nuisance!!!

Number keeps calling me not sure who it is.

received call 11.48 - silent call

Just got a call to my mobile from BG using this number asking if I was needed any advice after my boiler failed in the middle of January's big freeze.

The parts were no longer being available and a new boiler was installed by a n other contractor within 3 weeks.

The girl caller didn't seem interested when I said I was surprised it had taken 4 months for them to follow it up and offer me a quote on a new boiler which they had already provided at the time!

If I had been an older frail person and had waited for BG I would have froze death waiting but owuldh ave thawed in this fine weather....

They are a total pain. Ive been receiving these calls for the past 3 - 4 weeks every day at least twice a day.Got so fed up my son answered and they said they wanted to speak to the home owner. Once again it was British Gas. Whenever I see this number I just ignore it. Everyone do the same, you never know, they might actually get the b....y message!
