Just got a call telling me I had won a holiday for 4 people (4 countries listed) gave me freephone number to call 0800 988 9900 and a reference number which, if I called immediately would also entitle me to receive £50 worth of high-street shopping vouchers.  The only cost to me would be FROM £29.50 per person - I know that I have not entered any such competition and I believe this to be a Time-share scam.  If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is....

Had a call from these guys late yesterday afternoon.

I was told I had not won the main prize but had won runners up prize of a trip for 2 to one of several European resorts. All I have to do is ring the freephone numbe rto register.

My immeadiate reaction was that this all sounded a bit odd. If it was genuine then why would I need to call another numbe rand register for my prize.

Googling the freephone number brought me here and after what I have read I won't be calling them.

Second call in a week, after the first call I spoke to my partner who said do not call the number or pay any money, after the second call I googled the tel. number they said to ring and found this site.

Lady called Abi - if I called back before 5.30pm I'd get £50.00 worth of shopping vouchers

Hi, to everyone corcerned about clc resorts & hotels

my name is paula and i recieved a call from clc stating that i had entered a online holiday survey/competition and that i had been awarded a 7 night luxury holiday for up to 4 people inclusive of return flights and 7 nights accomodation to either portugal, the canary islands or spain.

There was also two uk destinations for people who did not like flying which were either scotland or cornwall.

I was told that clc resorts & hotels cover the cost of the flights and accomodation for 7 nights and that there was a small booking fee of between £29.50p up to £64.50p payable four weeks prior to taking your holiday which also included all airport taxes and surcharges and that the holiday was valid for 18 months.

I was then told i had to make a date to attend a meeting to collect my holiday award and shopping vouchers and that i was under no obligation to buy, join or rent anything to recieve my holiday.

At first i was like, this cannot be serious, i had never been awarded anything like this in my life before, so i did a bit of research myself and there seemed to be good opinions about clc resorts & hotels and bad opinions too.

So in the end i made a date with clc resorts and hotels and went to the meeting, as it happened to be at my local shopping centre. When i got there i decided to leave all my money & credit cards in my car, just incase they did try to hard sell me. All i took was my i.d which i needed to collect my holiday award and shopping vouchers.

I was shown around with my partner and told about the resorts and what clc resorts & hotels offered as a company and told that they had been established for over 10 years.

The sales reps did try to convince me and my partner into buying into a timeshare but i stood firm and told them i was not interested at all and that i was hear to collect my holiday award & shopping vouchers, the meeting did go on for about 2 hours.

At the end of the meeting i was told to prove that i matched their criteria, so i showed them my i.d which they accepted and i was awarded my holiday and shopping vouchers.

I booked my holiday up and got the dates that me and my family wanted and went to spain for a week, everything went well and our accommodation was first class, the kids loved it.

I enjoyed the holiday so much that i told my friends & family to phone up and use the same reference code, so they could also expierence what i had in spain. But i must stress you do have to meet the criteria otherwise it would be pointless ringing up as they ask you for i.d when your at the meeting.

To meet their criteria, you and your partner must be:

    - between the ages of 25 - 62
    - married or living with a partner
    - and a uk homeowner

If you match the criteria then call them and say you've been awarded a 7 night luxury holiday for up to 4 people.

Use this reference code and freephone number below to claim your holiday.

    REFERENCE CODE: T T T 312
    AND CALL: 0800 988 9900

P.S - it would be best to call them on a weekday as i never recieved calls on the weekend, when they were calling in the past and if i remember correctly i think they are open till 8pm.

Takecare and i hope this helps everyone

I've started entering online comps, so I guess that's where they got my number and why at the outset it sounded plausible. However, with 3 small children I haven't bothered entering foreign holiday ones, so I was very suspicious when he said a 7 night holiday in Spain, Portugal or Cornwall, and decided it was dodgy when I was told I had to ring this freephone number and quote a reference number - after all, if you've won a prize you've won a prize, why would you have to ring an administration dept to claim it???!!  I won't bother ringing!  Between this site and moneysavingexpert.com all my suspicions are confirmed!!!

Same here got a call from someone saying I filled a survey on-line and won a holiday to (choice of) Portugal; Spain and two other places one of them in England. That it was no scam, but that I needed to call straight away the following number 0800-9889900 the the person said actually let me amend that number to 0800-9880335 which is also reported here on this blog as a time-share scam the same as this one...So obviously I will not be calling ..just wanted to write this as both numbers as you can see are for the same company, and when they call you it is as reported,

Same as you guys, got a call saying I had won a free holiday. When I questioned if I had WON it she said NO it would cost me £64 per person but would have to attend one of their 2 hour meetings to arrange destination, timescale etc. Needless to say that I will not be going to their meeting after reading all of your comments, I only wished I had googled the number before ringing it. Never mind, we all learn by our mistakes.

My husband received a call saying he'd won a holiday and had 'phone the above number. He had no recollection of having entered a competition and 'phoned. He was offered a holiday to Portugal but had to book immediately and pay £29.50. He declined and called again on another day out of curiosity, only to be offered a no obligation appointment at an office on Tottenham Court Road. All very odd when having "won" a holiday to be asked for £49 per person to go to Scotland or Cornwall!

Just got a similar call - they tried calling last night at about 20.00, at 10.00 this morning, at 12.30 this lunchtime - I just kept missing their call and they just called again at 12.32!!! I've just started entering competitions as I'm getting married next year so I wanted to listen but it sounded dodgy (you can tell when you can hear loads of people talking in the background normally and by the way they speak!), got a reference and a number and googled it straight away. Obviously won't be calling it! I am also very sure Paula works for them.
