Same as the others. I didnt trust it so asked him to email me the details which he refused to do. Said he couldnt even email me the number i was supposed to be calling! I then asked him to send me a text which seemed to annoy him. he eventually agreed so I do now have a mobile number in case they ever decide to call me again!

I received  the same "You have won" a 7 night luxury hotel for 4 in ... blah blah, blah.

I just found the prize draw receipt and terms and conditions on the back: "Please note that we reserve the right to contact you before or after the Prize Draw to make awards which are entirely separate from the Prize Draw and that those awards are subject to attending a presentation  and are subject to their own qualification criteria and terms and conditions.

I think the legal implications are in between the words "Award" and "Prize". Also by making sure partners attend, one can't claim "I must talk to my husband first". Home-owning assures them of financial capital, and income of over £25,00 ensures financial stability (of sorts).

This company was also taken to task by the Advertising Standards Authority in 2006 and found "guilty". They could have cleaned up their act by then, but it might be worth googling "CLC Resorts Advertising Agency Authority"

Just received a call to my mobile, telling me to phone the 0800 number immediately cause I'd won a holiday. I supposedly entered a competition last year.
I didn't enter a comp. I don't give my mobile no to anyone except friends. Won't be ringing their landline.

Just answered to a 'withheld' number, have missed loads lately.  Same old crap that everyone describes here!  Glad I 'googled' the number too!

I had the same call just now requesting that I call the above free phone number and quote a reference number. Just taught to Google both the landline and free phone as the reception was not good in my area. The free holiday gave me a check. The scam just confirmed my suspicion.

Just received a call today from CLC Resorts & Hotels congratulating me on winning a holiday comp that I had apparently entered whilst at Olympia International Horse Show Dec last year. I knew that I hadn't entered any such comp so traced the number I was told to call on this site. This is also linked to another 'freephone' number 0800 9889904 so please be cautious if asked to call either of these numbers

Got asked to answer a survey whilst coming out of Wickes.(wasn't told what the survey was for) Didn't think any more about it, then suddenly got a call telling me that I had be awarded a free holiday and all I had to do was ring this number. So be aware if you are asked to take part in any surveys.

Same Same, I have had a call from a very effecient sounding lady who said that I had won a holiday, Dont know why I googled the number but I'm glad I did.

I happenend to mention the call to somone else who was very excited for me, I explained that It was very likely that it was a scam, She would have totally bought it if the call came through to her. Baaad!

The strange thing was when she asked if I was a homeowner and quoted my post
code, I said that I am the tennant. She told me then I would not be able to claim. How very odd??

Apparently if I go to the Exhibition centre in Bristol at 3pm on Sunday I will get £25 in my choice of high street vouchers along with tickets for a family of 4 to a 5 star hotel. Flights and rooms paid for, all I need to pay is airport tax and also £29.50 admin fee. I assumed instantly it was timeshare and from googling the number I see I was right!

I feel so angry that so many people fall for this sort of scam. I can't believe after over 2 years of using the same numbers that the company is still going strong! Just shows how many do get too tempted. All we need in times like these are people stealing from their fellow countrymen!

I did fill in a questionnaire at Menorca airport then got a phone call to say I'd won. Got suspicious straight away though when told I'd have to ring somone - why not just give me all the info in the first place. When I said the other people I'd be taking on holiday would be my friends because my husband wouldn't travel they said it had to be him. Alarm bells rang as it was obvious it hadn't been been a competition at that point but a way of finding out if people fit their criteria. VERY UNDERHAND
