Don't know, don't care who it was. I don't owe anybody money and having checked my credit rating recently was quite happy with it. If I don't know the number ringing me I won't answer it, I won't even listen to their voicemails. If they are that desperate to contact me they have my email address and they can work out how to send an SMS.

this number called me, it is retail bank collections for lloyds banking group.

Today I have rung Lloyds Bank customer services and they confirmed that this number is for the Collections department.

Just had a call from this number, told me its Halifax and about personal banking. Give away is i dont bank with them, but my mortgage is with them, also would not give me details, saying had to give him personal info first. If its a real call, ask for the dept, and a phone number you can call back, then check that number against your paperwork for your bank accounts etc. Even bigger way was the way he spoke so quick, if real he would know that i dont phone bank as I'm deaf!

Just answered the landline to this number and no one at the other end as per usual. The simple answer is ignore it and they will get fed up with calling. As for giving personal information over the telephone to someone you don't know the cardinal rule is don't. I am being bombarded by spam emails (70+ per day) that my email provider is dealing with and you certainly wanted press the links unless you are foolish!

I had exactly the same thing last night, I received a call at 9pm and she said to me exactly what she said to you. I said that she was calling me and so I shouldn't have to give her my details and asked what she wanted and she kept saying it was about a personal banking matter and she had to verify my identity before she could discuss it with me. I said I wasn't prepared to do that, she suggested I call the bank and I said that I would go into the branch today and she hung up. This morning I have had the same call saying exactly the same thing, I have told her to remove me from whatever list my number is on. This definitely sounds like a scam so I will be blocking this number!

Received a phone call from the said number at 08:30 this morning on my mobile and no message left.

Called about 14.00 claiming to be Halifax Bank, called me by surname and asked for D.O.B and address. Apparently they needed to discuss important account information - I said I would go to the branch.

Calls on average 5 times a week, Indian lady from halifax she says... Mmm doubtful.

I keep getting these calls the lady on the other side 1 got my surname name wrong 2.asked if I'm with Halifax (I'm not with any bank !) of course I didn't give her an answer BUT I did tell her she's gone the wrong person even after telling her this she still calls? I answered to see if it was the same lady IT WAS !! So it seems to me the want to record your voice for automated purposes and scams so be careful please don't give them info coz if you do at a guess they will use your recorded voice (with info) and draw money out of your account (I'm guessing??)

Had 2 phone calls today..one on mobile and the other at work, this worries me as i don't give out my works number and am likely to get into trouble if this continues. Scared how they found this out...even the bank does not have my works number. Caller would not leave any details just said to ring Lloyds Bank.

Man with a strong Asian accent called one evening claiming to be from "Lloyds Bank" asking to talk to the "account holder" and confirm security details. He was just fishing for personal details, he was completely unaware who I was and that I was not a customer of Lloyds TSB.

Looking back I have had several unanswered calls both before and after from the same number still trying their luck.

Criminal to think that this is an ex directory line that was installed within the last couple of months and the only people I have disclosed this number to are banks, utilities andthe relevant insurance companies!

Several calls from this number at strange times. Called back and got the Lloyds group message. I used to work for Lloyds and know they do not usually call at strange times.  Rang the bank who could not find the number on their database so concluded this is a phishing call. If you don't want receive any more calls just block them as I have done on both my landline and mobile. However I find 'International' calls more irritating!

When you call back (I did, putting 141 before the number in order to withhold mine) it just says you were called today by the Lloyds blah, which includes blah and blah. No option to speak to anyone; nothing saying they'd try to call again. Bit of a waste of time really. Unfortunately, it's ours as well as theirs (and for the latter I care not one jot).

just had a phone call from them said they were from lloyds can i vertifie some details so i told them i would check number first on my computer whitch said they were fake so i told them to get stuffed and stop trying to rip people off and they put phone down .
