SCAM SCAM SCAM......


This number called today said they were from SKY, we phoned sky up and they said it was a SCAM!!! that they would NEVER ask for the details they asked from us.
They asked our Name, Address, Postcode, PASSWORD AND MOTHERS MAIDEN NAME.....
never ever give this info out when someone calls YOU, phone them back on a telephone number you trust if you want to speak to SKY to make sure you are speaking to the right people


luckily we didnt give out MANY details....only name and address.... !!!! bad enough tho.

It was Careline Ltd, a dodgy warranty operation who like to pretend that they are Sky which is the first scam. The second scam is using details to set up a warranty. The third is multiple charging. The fourth is denying it all!

Said they were 'Michael from Sky' and asked to speak to my husband. Ominously only an hour after we'd received another call from someone pertaining to be from a kitchen company. We are ex directory and signed up with the telephone preference service. Our calls can be recorded. Perhaps worth a try if another one comes through to get it looked into.

Too many calls all weekend, bang out of order!!!

This number has called a couple of times. No one is there when answering. Clearly an automated dialler. I am unlisted and on call preference

Several times a week I get a call from this company saying they are from Sky trying to sell insurance for our Sky box. They aren't Sky and no matter how often we say no they just ring again a few days later. Hubby went mental at them a few weeks ago but it still continues.

Hello, I received a call from this number with the foreign sounding gentleman saying he was from Sky. I asked him where he was based and he replied 'West London'.  I asked him where in West London he was based and he replied by saying that he was not obliged to give this information..All very suspicious so I hung up..A sub note to this is, I asked him why he was calling..He replied by saying that I may be entitled to discounts..No-one will call you to give you money..Just remember that!!!

Don't ever call my number again with fraudlent telephone number which has no origin.

Hubby answered call from this number and he was asked for by name, when he confirmed it the person asked if he was free to talk, he said depends about what and then it went silent and he was sure he heard giggling.
Just left the line open and then it went dead. My son advised he had had a call the previous day from someone claiming to be from Sky but can't be sure this is the same number....

I wouldnt normally pick up a call from a number like this, but last week I phoned sky with a problem on my broadband and they had promised to call me back this week.

So when the number appeared on my mobile yesterday I answered it, expecting a Broadband solution. Instaead it was a lady from SKY offering me a subscription to the MUFC TV channel for being " a loyal customer".

To say I was annoyed would be an understatement. I had to give them ther mobile number so we could check there was no fault on the landline, and they obviously gave it straight to their sales and marketing team !

More fool me I guess.

Just had a 2nd call today from same number on my mobile, so I am now destined to get at least one per day (I didnt answer this call and they didnt leave a message)

Whover this is they keep ringing me-during the day and evening. I don't answer numbers I don't    recognize and they never leave a message

Just had a call from this number 08433 770119 sayin they were from sky, said called to look at my account 2 see if can offer me any offers or upgrades, told them got full package and I fone sky regularly to see wat discounts available, lol wasn't much he cud say to that bt was very pleasant (which is VERY unusual) and apologised 4 disturbing me.

This number calls numerous times every day.

On one occasion I answered to hear someone repeating the word Ramadan over and over ad nauseum.

When I ring the numer it saya they belong to 'Assume Nothing Ltd'

I have been receiving frequent phone calls on 012... numbers from an Indian sounding gentleman who wanted to know if I had Sky. When I told him  it was non of his business and not to phone again because I would report him,  he threatened that he would if I did not answer yes or no.
Now I am getting frequent calls on 08433770119. Is there a connection ? I phoned this 08433770119 number and a recorded message says  if you do not want them to contact you again , leave your tel.number. Two hours later I got another call.
IT IS TIME SKY CLEANED UP IT'S ACT.

Got an unsolicited call from this number claiming to be in connection with a SKY loyalty reward scheme at 20:36 tonight 18/08/2011. Voice was "Afro- Caribbean" and a bit hesitant. I got suspicious when he started needing my personal details "to confirm my eligibility for reward". I rang off but when trying to make a subsequent call found that the caller had deliberately left the line open thus blocking my phone from making outward calls. After about ten minutes the line became unblocked. I then did 1471 found the 08433770119 number , stuck it into Google and found this site

My phone has caller display luckily and this number rings about 4 times a day even close to 9pm, I never answer it they can sod off!!!!

Like a good many of the contributors on this site I receive 3 or 4 calls a day from this number. I have caller ID on my phone so never answer them but i'm disabled and the distress caused by these calls is enormous.
If I could get hold of them physically I would ring their bloody necks..!!

I have been receiving silent calls from this number (presumably an autodial machine), although I am registered with TPS.

I have 3 of these calls daily for the past 3 days. Earlier I think they must have forgotton to hung up and my "message" sounded like 2 teenage girls in a talk centre talking to each other. Last week I did have an Asian gentleman calll me, claiming he didnt want to sell me anything, went through a series of questions (who was my phone provider, did I have cable etc) then at the end asked me to confirm my name and address. When I questioned why he needed this if he did not want to sell me anything he became very cagey and he hung up. I am not sure if this was from the same number, as when i put the phone down, a friend rang, so I did not get the number
