    Mrs P
I have had 2 calls from this number today saying that my husband did a short survey and they wanted to say thank you by sending a free magazine. The guy had a Welsh accent and said the company was based in Cardiff. When I spoke to my husband he confirmed no such phone call or survey took place.

    SCAM be warned!!!!!!!!!

    BEWARE -
The Sapphire Scam Merchants are still at it !!
Alas, in addition to the £1 and £79.99 we also had £6.25 deducted from the account.
And of course the medical cabinet is awaiting shipment with the new issue of the Magazine....
    REMEMBER-
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH !!

I've just had a call from 'Sapphire magazine' claiming they got my number when I answered an online survey which I have no recollection of? They asked me for £1 for me to receive £20 fuel vouchers and a complimentary copy of a magazine. When I refused to give my card number and expiry date they hung up. It was a very well spoken young man so quite believable at first. DO NOT BE TAKEN IN! This is a very sophisticated scam.

Was taken in by a cold caller saying because I had did a telephone survey on Friday the 15th of November I was being sent a fuel voucher for £20.00 and a free magazine for women called"Sapphire". But they wanted a card number for the £1 donation going to cancer research. Sadly fell for it. Went straight on the internet and found this forum where people have had a full £79.99 taken from their account and no magazine or fuel voucher. My call was on the 18/11/13 at 1805 hrs. Phoned them straight back but only recorded message. Emailed them straight away. Now very worried.

Yes, just put a block on any transactions from this company and emailed them. What fooled me was I had done the survey. Thanks to the internet think I have been for warned.

I too was taken in by the offer of "Sapphire" membership and free "fuel vouchers" (which turned out to be one which I have to send off for and a few more only valid if I don't cancel my membership - and I am not exactly holding my breath about the refund of the one I can claim!).  I gave my debit card details for the £1 postage.  Of course what turned up was not a magazine but a brochure with silly offers and vouchers for things I don't want.
Having EMailed them (cancel@sapphiremembers.com) twice with no reply and tried to contact them by telephone (answering machine) I contacted my bank (First Direct who are excellent) who put a stop on the "continuous payment authority" without a problem.  I managed to do this prior to the £79.99 being debited so I am hoping I have avoided this scam by taking the advice on this forum so my thanks to all whole submitted messages.  Advice, of course, is don't be taken in and don't give out any bank details as I was foolish enough to do!

I got a call from this number asking me if my password was xxxxxxx and said I had provided this password on a Telephone Survey that I answered in October. I haven't answered a telephone survey as am telling anyone who says they are doing one that I am not going to contribute and hang up.  So, how did he get a password that is known to me?  One I haven't used for years.  He said he was calling from Scarlett Magazine.  Told him that I have not taken part in any surveys, do not take part in any surveys and certainly never took one in October and he apologised and said he would remove me from their records.  Scarlett magazine on google has varying results one being that this magazine no longer exists.

Sorry it was Sapphire Magazine not Scarlett.  I had someone who deducted from my bank account a couple of months ago, when I called them to find out why, they said I had asked for a magazine and they had sent it so, I didn't return it within a given time so I was auto enrolled on membership.  Had great fun finding out how they gained access to my bank details, apparently someone I had internet shopped with had passed on my details and the bank said it was my fault for allowing the mail order company to share my details - I don't ever use the card they deducted from for any internet or mail order purposes.  The bank put a stop on that company and the company did refund my money when I said no acceptance of a magazine had been agreed.

As my mum used to say..... You don't get anything for nothing these days, I have had 5 calls per day for the last 4 days.... My husband did the survey but had to go away so I have been left to tell them each time he isn't here... Still getting the calls though... Glad I read the reviews, good luck everyone in getting your money back,

    Mrs Maureen Anne Longstaff
On Thursday 21 st Nov 2013 I received a call, to say I had been chosen to review a magazine called Sapphire and would receive a £20 fuel voucher to do so . all I had to do was pay £1 which I did on my bank debit card , then would have 14 days to decide whether I decided to continue . Only then would £79 be taken from my account.
I told my daughter bout this and , obviously rather more sensible than I, she suspected it was a scam and looked into forums which tend to suggest it is as 79 pounds had been taken from others accounts without permission and had not being able to contact the caller.
I have contacted my Bank and cancelled my card , which will hopefully stop any future payment to Sapphire .

    Regards ,
    Maureen Longstaff

Just had a call from Amelie at 'Sapphire Magazine' informing me that as I had taken part in their online survey I would be getting a £20 fuel voucher.  She gave me a number of 084535070707 and their opening hours of 10am - 6pm. However in order to cover costs I had to pay £1 now and she asked for credit/debit card details over the phone. I declined saying that as I was at work I wasn't able to do that at this time and she promptly hung up! Something bothered me about the call which is why I decided to check it out and I am gald now that I did as clearly it is a scam.
