I was called today with the promise of £20 petrol vouchers. Unfortunately I accepted. Worried about it I googled the firm and then phoned up my creditcard company and blocked my card. Taught me a lesson today.

I'm another one to add to this very long list. I foolishly gave my card details but when I asked for a phone number and email address to contact them the operative said it would all come in the post.
I rang my bank immediately and cancelled my card and luckily nothing had so far been taken out.
I could kick myself, I'm usually very skeptical of phone calls like that but I fell right in.

I believe everyone on this forum is jumping on the same band wagon as each other as I've received my magazine and fuel vouchers. I've now decided to become a full member also as it actually works out that I save quite a bit of money. If you don't receive your vouchers they kindly tell you to ring the number they give which actually works. People shouldn't believe everything everyone writes. If you have problems take it up with the company instead of hiding behind a keyboard.

My mum received this the beggining of last week, she liked the magazine but wasn't too sure about all the vouchers because she didn't think that she would use them, so I gave them a call by the date they told her to call by and it got stopped. Still got to keep the magazine and the fuel voucher so I don't see what all the fuss is about, quite straight forward really.

I was telephoned by a young man at 17.04hrs on December 3 saying as I had carried out a recent survey - [I never do surveys] and I was entitled to a free copy of Saphire Magazine plus free vouchers for an assortment of items.  I immediately stated that I was not going to buy anything or answer any telephone surveys and was assured the call did not relate to either. He then started to tell me Saphire was a lifestyle magazine bla bla bla then asked me if I drove and whether it was petrol or deisel - I then repeated that I was not going to answer any questions or do any form of survey - he then continued  he would send me a free copy to sample the magazine in the hope I would take out a subscription - then asked for a downpayment in case I decided to buy the magazine - I then reiterated that I had said I was not going to pay for anything and he hung up on me.  On Googling Saphire magazine I find it is for Lesbians - and I am a healthy hetrosexual! so would not be interested.  The call was totally wrongly targeted and what a waste of time - or did my call count for his target number of people he spoke to?  I hasten to say I am registered with the Telephone Preference Register - and he knew my name?

Just got off the phone to one of these cold callers  for Sapphire magazine, my attitude is if the offers are too good to be true."They are a scam" this day and age you get nothing  for nothing!, and if you are daft enough to give your bank details over the phone to a complete stranger then you deserve to get rooked.
I use the internet a lot to buy whatever, debit mandates and giving the caller my bank details, you have no come back should it go pear shaped. always use a reputable company Pay Pal, or bank direct debit  Etc. I have just checked the internet and my instinct was correct, they are Con artists stay well clear

I received a call from this company from a girl who seems really lovely & genuine, she said for £1 I would get a Sapphire magazine through the post along with a £20 fuel voucher which I could use even if I cancelled within the 14 day no cost trial period. I explained to her at the time there was no way I could afford £79.99 to become a full member at this time. But I went ahead just to get the fuel voucher basically. So I then cancelled my membership via email as states on the letter I got with the magazine & fuel voucher...which was poorly printed & cut out bit of paper. In the meantime I'd also done some research on this company on the internet, they are also called Megroup & although they say to see the Sapphire membership guide for full terms and conditions....well where is that? Also on the website...www.meclub.co.uk it says click for terms and conditions but this does not work!
Anyway I was worried so I kept checking my bank account & the day after my 14 days trial was up they still took £79.99 from my debit card, when I rang them to say I'd cancelled my membership on time & they had taken my money anyway the guy would hardly listen to my side of the story (I wasn't being aggressive or angry towards him, because that doesn't get you anywhere when complaining, although I wanted to!!), all he kept on saying was that my membership fee was non refundable, even though they were the one's at fault. This company seems very misleading and doesn't seem to be customer friendly. Whether you would actually get all the vouchers and benefits they say you can as a full member who knows, but It seems wise not to pay them money and find out?
I rang my bank to disbute the money been taken and they refunded it that day but said if the company doesn't agree they could take the money back out again, so as soon as it went back in i rang the bank to make sure they hadn't already taken it back, due to card payments not showing up online straight away then i cancelled my card to ensure they couldn't. So I'm hoping that worked for me!
Sorry for the long post, but I thought it might be helpful :)

I had this call today,  I went a lot of online quizzes and fill in surveys for prizes etc they said they'd send me a £20 fuel voucher and a free magazine,  but when she got to the part about my paying a pound on my card for postage - I said no,  told her I'd be a fool to give out my details to a complete stranger.  What makes me angry is that she told me part of the pound would be donated to cancer research.  Bad people.

I had a phone call from a man saying I had filled in a questionare and my reward was a £20 fuel voucher, pay a £1 to cover postage also I would be entitled to a magazine for a year at the cost of £79. Stupidly I gave my credit card number but not the secruity number from the back of the card. Next morning I rang my bank and canceled the card, so far nothing has gone from my account. But in future I will just hang up!

I, too have been robbed by these people (.£79-99) AND AS A PENSIONER (84) you can imagine how annoyed I am especially at Christmas time.  These people are truly wicked and want stopping in their tracks.
