This was a man ringing regarding a survey carried out last Sunday.  No one was home on Sunday regarding Sapphire Magazine (which I had never heard of).  Got rid of him but googled Sapphire apparently it is a magazine scam were you pay £80 and get nothing.

A man rung me earlier asking for my card details for a pound.In return I would get a magazine with £20s worth of fuel vouchers enclosed .After reading other peoples comments on this website I'm glad I didn't!

Just phoned me there, saying it was Sapphire Magazine, calling from Wales, apparently i had done a Survey and was getting £20 petrol voucher and a copy of the magazine, in return all i need to do is pay £1 to cover postage. I hung up at that point.chancers

They have just done exactly the same to me and all the guy said when I rang was it's non refundable and that was all he said for at least 10minutes!! Absolutely disgusting

Sapphire called me too, told me all about the benefits I would get from taking the magazine, it sounded like the Candis magazine which I used to get, they gave a lot of money to Charities and I got cheap travel insurance and Airport Parking with them so I gave my debit card number for the £1 to cover the sample magazine and postage.  Now I have received a 4 page leaflet, no magazine, tried to get on the website to cancel and it doesn't appear to exist, I will try to phone tomorrow (Monday) and possibly write to them but it may be a good idea to pop into the bank and tell them as well. I am old enough to have known better and that is what is annoying me! They gave me a different phone Number 0843 507 0707.

I used to get Candis many years ago but seem to remember there was some sore of scandal about the amount of money they were paying over to the charities and they disappeared.

Sent in petrol receipts 16.12.13. Expected a cheque for £30 28 days later. Rang on 2.2.14 and Sapphire said, they closed for 2 weeks over Christmas so they are 14 days behind and have a backlog. They will dispeatch these 2 cheques, one for £10 and one for £20, from VANCOUVER, CANADA on 7th Feb 14 and they should arrive by 14th Feb 14. Won't hold my breath!!!!

Been scammed by these people. How can we get money back?

Someone i know got a call from them, luckily i got them to phone the bank before they could take anything.

Now they assure us that the payment will not go through and if it does just keep an eye on it and to to phone them back if it does.

but now the bank knows about this scam, in turn will tel other banks this will make it much easier to eventually get rid of these leeches.

I just got a call from a lady from sapphire magazine saying I colmpleted a survey on Friday, and same thing as everyone I will receive 20 pounds vouchers... I did complete a survey but I don't remember completing sapphires survey I'm so glad I never gave my credit card details because I have been scammed by ammy once and that has taught me a lesson. The lady seemed so polite as well and when I said no I don't want it she went all quite lol. Checked it out after I hung up and so glad I didn't give my details!!!

Me too!  Some bloke reckoned that I had filled out a survey and that he was sending me a free magazine and that I had won a petrol voucher (which was valid for 12 months).  He then said that as they were based in Cardiff, could I help out with th epostage by giving them £1.   As he was talking I looked up the magazine name and came across the scam.  When I asked if it was a scam he laughed and said no definately not....I put the phone down!

Yeah, me too!  Just been called by "Sapphire" offering petrol voucher etc.  It would seem they are changing their tactics after a while, but the cost is still the same.  Once she asked me to pay the £1 postage, I left the phone on speaker and wandered off to continue working.  She eventually got the message.......

hi, I have just received a call from the company at work, after listening to him for 8 minutes trying to sell me this magazine with fuel vouchers I said I wasn't interested, the number he gave me to call before I said I wasn't interested is 08435070707 I don't know if this is any help but after reading this site please stay away from this company.

just been called from a lady called ashley from this company told if i gave my bank details she would take a pound for that pound i would get a magazine and a voucher for £20 off petrol , im so glad after reading all your comments i didnt give my details thank you for sharing this

Just received call from this No. I see from others of you that have unfortunately been contacted by these pains!! have said they called themselves 'ME Group', they called themselves 'Sapphire' when ringing me, stating, as with some others of you, that they wanted to make sure I received the £20+ Petrol voucher promised safely and with it would be one of their magazines to read, a magazine of great interest to many people. I'd had calls similar to this before and knew that they'd be telling me, after all the rubbish they were trying to blab to me, that they'll be charging me for the magazine as out of the kindness of their hearts, because I filled in a simple survey, I'd be receiving the £20+ voucher for our petrol from them, plus to be even kinder to me, the magazine wouldn't be it's full price!! WOW! need I say, most probably because of embarrassment, as I told her I knew, she put the phone down at some speed, more training I think! LOL! others have gone on and on to me leading me to be the one who puts down the phone as they just wont take "NO !" for an answer.

Do let us know what happens, My message is further down the page, you'll see I certainly wasn't gonna be taken in! Really hope this doesn't leave you with too much of a problem, these people make me so mad, unfortunately I can't say how I really feel as this site does ask us to be polite when writing our messages!!!!! What a shame!  LOL!.  GOODLUCK!

Its horrendous what they are doing, Sick unlawful and wrong....

These people working there should wake up and realize they are as bad as the company themselves. It is them on the phones that are lulling people into a false sense of security and scamming them! How do companies like this carry on.......Sick!
