Received phone call from a gent stating he was from Sapphire Magazine, Cardiff (4/11/14).
I told them I wasn't home ( I pretended to be my daughter) they repeatedly asked as to when I would be home to call back......
Glad I did now after looking on web and seeing the amount of complaints about this bogus firm.....

I just got a call offering 20 fuel vouchers they wanted a pound from me glad I googled the scam before I got tookin my advice is to google every thing on your email offers and don't get caught out

i also got taken in by this scam by the lovely polite young woman who called me. offered me a £20 fuel voucher and a load of other offers for jst 31 postage and packing. as of today i still haven't received my magazine or any other correspondence from then but they still put a hold of £79.99 on my debit card. i have rang them and got a reply and was assured that they would cancel the payment and the money would not actually leave my account. i have taken the name of the representative i spoke to and wrote down the time and date i spoke to them. the number i called 08006696480

Just got a call from someone in cardiff with this offer, £20 diesel for £1 postage charge for subscription of Sapphire Magazine, don't remember filling out a survery for them, glad I checked here first!

Called at 17.15 today. Asked for me by name - I asked who was calling him and with that the call finished. Female, Welsh accent.

Got a call from David in Cardiff offering the fuel voucher for twenty pounds of fuel all I had to pay was 1 pound gave my bank details then come off phone and thought that's not right so contacted bank to cancel card so they can,then even get their pound

Endless calls from these idiots.I don't answer as Caller Display gives this number. I think I will put it into the blocker.

Just been called by  0844 5670460.  Don't bother to call it back all you will get is sales lies.  The best way to deal with it is to call  Recreational Services  on 02920 364220  and complain, moan to them.
Maybe they will get fed up with the calls and stop the telemarketing calls from happening.

Are you aware of the fact that there are at least 2 known Sapphire magazines? Just because one is a lesbian magazine does NOT mean that is the one who called you. (That Sapphire, based in Australia, actually go out of their way to state they are not part of the Welsh one that people complain about)

i never answer a call unless it has a name to it i now barr my number for these companys and shall do this one to this company is a magazine company dont want ur mag either .

We are expecting a baby in this family and don't want to hassled at the moment but I am getting 2/3 calls a day.

they did the same to me I cancelled my account with the bank and visa direct but they still managed to get £79.99 so don't be surprised if they still take it, still having ongoing row about it being paid

How could they do that after the card has been cancelled?

My bank cancelled my card as being "LOST" & issued me a new card with completely new serial number

They assured me that no further payments can be taken fro my account

you state that you don't cold call well I have not filled out any forms yet was called today by yourselves and when I asked who was calling the phone was put down on me I do not appreciate being cold called and I certainly do not appreciate some one calling at a ridiculas time I have 3 small children in bed and If I am contacted by your group again I will be filing for a harassment claim as I did not ask for the call and most definitely do not want another !!!

Lady offering £10 petrol voucher if I pay £1 with my credit or debit card.
Sound like a good way to have your account drained to me.
This followed a call from an Asian gentleman who asked me to take part in a survey.
I did this but gave nothing personal away.

I have just received a call only 5 mins ago from this company.  I've just seen what everyone else has wrote.  I didn't give my bank details.  The guys name was kireon brewer. All I was doing was to try and save myself a bit of money I didn't know that I was going to have to pay a £1 for postage to get fuel vouchers.

Just had a call from 08445670460, spoke to someone called 'Liam Walsh', which he told to use as my reference. Apparently I had done a survey last night, which he couldnt tell me what it was! Told me I had won a £20 petrol or diesel voucher, and that they will send me one free copy of the Sapphire magazine, I had never heard of this magazine and hadnt done any surveys last night at 6:15pm, as I supposedly had done. He told me that I would need to call or email within 14 days to cancel my membership, and I could email cancel@sapphiremembers.co.uk. He mentioned some work they do for charities etc, and then that they would pay £1 of the postage, but I would need to pay the other £1. He then said that he needed my expiry date and 3 digit security code from my card to take the pound. I quickly googled this whilst he was talking to me. It flagged up that it was a scam. I told him that on Sapphire magazines website, that they have published an article saying it was a scam, he said if you google mcdonalds that you would also get bad reviews, and that people only didnt cancel their memberships and then blamed the company which is why there was bad reviews.

I put the phone down and blocked the number! This scam is very much still active.
