- irate pensionerI received a call at tea time tonight telling me that as thank you for completing an on line survey ( for what ?? I have no idea )
they would like to send me a fuel voucher to the value of £20 and a free copy of Sapphire Magazine . they requested a payment of £1 to cover cost of postage which would be taken off my bank card . I could cancel further subscription and payments as long as this was completed within 14 days.
As we had family in for tea , once they had left I decided to check all this out on computer and was rather worried to read that this is a scam ....... lots of very bad feedback .
I then proceeded to contact my bank .....they were very helpful .....cancelled my card and blocked any payments .
THANK GOODNESS I did that .....gave me great peace of mind ......we should all be aware of anything sounds too good to be true then it probably is .....DON'T BE FOOLED INTO BELIEVING YOU ARE GOING TO GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING because there is NOTHING in this world free !!!!- Caller: ME GROUP ( SAPPHIRE MAGAZINE)
- OLD BUT NOT SILLYI was called as a result of a survey, they even gave me the time I completed the survey, again asked for £1 postage via my bank card and all the other scam details. I may be old but not silly no details no voucher and they had NO luck. It seems to be linked to a reputable survey, BE WARNED.

- Joyce MacdonaldThis company phoned asking my husband for his bank details after he had completed a survey. Called themselves Sapphire Magazine. Woman called Claire said she would phone back when I told her don't. Bother she said she had to. I said no you don't we then got to repeating she then hung up and I have reported them to TPS

- jo| 4 repliesI had a call from this number a couple of months ago, spoke to a very polite young welsh girl who said id done a survey which I had done with another company that passed my details on to them, she explained everything, that it was no obligation and if I didn't want to become a member to cancel in the 14 days or id get automatically charged, and if I became a member or not I could still use the fuel vouchers, I gave my card number and expiry date, the £1 was taken, she gave me all the contact details, when it came out it wasn't really the type of thing that would save me money (not vouchers I would use personally) so I called the customer service number, spoke to another very polite welsh girl who cancelled it for me, no more money has been taken from my account and I have since used my vouchers and received my cash back for the fuel. Most people on here are just saying they're glad they didn't do it or they cancelled their card, which is not a fair review to give unless you have actually taken on the trial. I have not been ripped off or scammed by this company but maybe that's just because I actually listened to the young lady on the phone and cancelled when I was supposed to. Alot of companies do similar trials, like Netflix, its a no obligation trial, if you don't want it make sure you cancel, why not take advantage of a £20 voucher when all you have to pay is £1. Completely legitimate company in my experience.

- lisa replies to jo| 2 repliesI too have been one satisfied customer. Most people commenting on here are saying scam yet they never took up the trial to see if it was genuine or not! I paid my pound got my 20 pound of petrol and decided against joining only because I'm actually going abroad for a few months. I called them up to which I got through straight away and cancelled and the 79.99 was never taken as promised. The only stupid people on here are the ones refusing to pay 1 pound for 20 pounds worth of petrol or diesel plus a lot more if you subscribe
- George replies to lisa| 1 replyOf the 25 pages of posts have you checked out how many people have a) not got the magazine, b) not got the vouchers and c) tried to cancel without success? Have you checked out how many people have had money taken from their account after the have cancelled? They seem to outweigh your two comments. Incidentally, why would two people who were so happy with the service check out a site used to report unknown, unwanted and scam telephone numbers and share information?
- lisa replies to GeorgeI seem to recall that they actually told me that if I had not received my pack within 5 working days then I was to give them a call so to anyone that did not receive it then that's their fault for not calling. The reason why I'm on here is because I found a number that I had jotted down and couldn't remember what it was for then I read through the comments and thought it was unfair for people to be slating this company when most of them are going on what others are saying. My personal opinion is that I have never had a problem with sapphire magazine and if they were to call me again I would definitely pay my pound for my cashback vouchers
- alfonzo69manWho is this calling
- VeeBeeI just had a message from them saying they were sending petrol voucher and what I thought they said a wildlife magazine. I said I wasn't interested and was registered with TPS. They said I had filled in a survey as though that was OK. I put the phone down and have put them on my blocked number list with more like them.

- isabelToday I was called by someone who said her name was Rachael from Sapphire (call came from 0844 5670460). She said this was a follow up call to an online survey that she said I had completed on Wed 15/10/14 at 12.00. I definitely did not complete such a survey. She was offering me vouchers and said that her company saved people money. When challenged about the online survey she said this was carried out by a third party company and she did not have any details about them. She said I should ring the customer service number 0843 5070707 as they may have more information abut the other company. It was clear from my response that I was not the least interested in vouchers.

- maggieHad the same call from another no. selling saphire mag askinfgfor £1 last year, would get £20 fuel voucher with mag. Mag came so complicated to get voucher sent it back. They have your banks details by now so they tried to claim £70 subscription. However I had already put stop on the account before that could happen. Same co rang me up yesterday so kept them talking for ages then said no thanks I think the call would have cost them more than the £1 they got off me.

- SalmonGot a call from Promotional Media Services Ltd, offering a 20 pounds fuel voucher + free magazine with promotions in return for 1 pound, the annual subscription is 79.99 which could be cancelled within 14 days of receiving the free magazine. I'm new in UK & didn't think that such scams take place in a developed country like UK. Has a gut feeling that it's a scam, went on the net & found this site.
Called the bank right away, they were not very helpful & said that I voluntarily gave my account details. Then I went to the branch to report the whole incident, the staff there was more helpful & called the fraud department.
Nevertheless, the next day my account was debited for 1 pound, I called the bank again, and went to the branch next morning to cancel the card.
My question is: is cancelling the card sufficient? Or I need to close the whole account?- Caller: Promotional Media Services Ltd

- Irate Reader replies to goldy| 3 repliesI'm sorry, but you state that this magazine isn't a gay magazine for lesbian/gay women, yet It catorgorically states online that it is for " feminine lesbians"!
Considering you have reportedly worked for/with this company, I find it remarkable, that you don't know or remember who or what you were working for!!!!!!
I think before you put stupid comments on here for all to see, you want to get your stories straight at your end and stop SCAMMING innocent individuals out of their hard earned monies.......
Companies like this make me sick to the stomach!!!!!!
