have beem receiving calls from this number for weeks, havent answered though, i generally dont answer if i don't know the number, but they phone me every single day, its prety annoying

Had a call of this number bout 8 times today and it costs me money on my contract because i work over seas.

i've not anwsed it and they refuse to leave a message.

Had the call today, she sounded as if she was in a call centre, refused to give details asked why the "Halifax" would ring me if i didnt have an account so how would they know my secuirty details were true? She insisted she had them so DOB 01/06/1884 and my post code was TH3MOON. She hung up??!! Listened to Jaxxie's advise and gave them sh*t, i suggest you do the same.

Have kept calling on mobile and landline day and night.  Picked up and person very rude and threatening. Said I would not give out info.

called the halifax after having a read of this site, they are now removing me from direct marketing so should stop these calls, they did say they have a connection with firstassist, which is why the calls were received

Keep getting calls from this number at least every hour.  I'm getting really annoyed now.

they called me today , phoned range for 3 times, i answered the call but silence on the other side than hang up,i do not know who they are.

Wife took a call today, they asked for me and by the time I had taken over the phone they had rung off.
1471 came up with this number.

this must be some scam many calls and hanging up, who can deal with this rang crimestoppers,didnt want to know!!

I work for the Halifax and a customer of mine had a call from this number. It is a number we call out from when a credit card has had 1 missed payment and results in being 1 payment in arrears.

I called our outbound calling department and notes on their system confirmed the name of the person calling and hence it was a genuine call. I understand that many people are reluctant to give their details over the phone when asked, but the staff have a duty to make sure they are speaking to the correct person - particularly in relation to any possible arrears.

Clearly, me saying this means nothing as you cannot confirm my identity, so the best recommendation I can give is if you do receive a call then you should call the number on the reverse of your card to ensure you are speaking to the right people - they should pass you through to collections where appropriate.

one big scam

we getting about 4 a day they just hang up, cant someone do something about it ?

They called claiming to be from Halifax bank, And asked for my year of birth. I told them I would call them call them back. If they call again, I will completely take the p*ss

It's a call from the Halifax as far as I'm aware

I refuse to answer numbers on my mobile that I don't know (i.e. aren't in my address book) and they don't leave a message ...

This number calls my home about 10 times per day and this has been going on for weeks! Often when I answer there is nobody there. When they have spoken they say they are calling from halifax and that they need to speak to my husband about his credit problem (of which he has none). They hadn't given me a number that he can call them back on until this week (my husband works long hours and is never at home when they call). I was given a 0870 number to call them back on and when my husband called this number they said he hadn't paid his halifax credit card bill and owed them 100's of pounds (he has never had a halifax credit card EVER)! He then went to a local halifax branch and they have no record of his name or details ever!!!!! Explain that 1!! I must add most (not all) of the people making the calls were very rude when I questioned why they kept calling! Having been to halifax and being told that my husband has no credit problems the 0845 number still calls every day x10. I now don't answer when I see the number but it is very frustrating as there seems to be no way to stop it!

Just called me at 9am on a sunday morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very mad!

My partner has been recieving calls from this company for over 4 weeks, 8 to 9 times a day from 7:30 to 22:00. They refuse to speak to me and say they will write to my partner (they never have) and have american accents. These calls coincided with funds being withdrawn illegaly from his Halifax account from a company called Epoch. Halifax have returned the funds and have given the number to their fraud dept.

The man from the Halifax also stated that they never call or email their customers they only write to them.

When she is really bored my daughter answers the phone and tries to sell them a fridge!

Well they started again about a week ago... a quick call to the nice people in plymouth on 0800 107 4377 (Who are FIRST ASSIST) and all seems to be well.

I spoke to a chap this time who apologised again and mentioned that it might be a good idea to have a word with the Halifax about getting my details removed from their marketing database. Sounds good to me.

He seemed to think the that reason that the calls have started again was because the Halifax updates their (First Assists') computer dialers (you know the ones... you answer and no one is there) every month and if your details are still on the Halifax database you will receive a call (lots of them :o( ).

So it all starts again, only this time I am off to my local branch of the Halifax for a word or three.

Good Luck folks and if you enjoy an argument keep taking the calls from the callcentres as they have more than one! otherwise give the 0800 107 4377 number a call, tell them about the calls, be nice and all should be resolved in about a week.
