Report a phone call from 08445811014 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- hbos worker| 2 repliesI am a halifax/bank of scotland/sainsburies worker and here is some info
any1 ringing and requesting your YEAR of birth and POSTCODE is legitamate for data protection purposes
you will get calls between 8am-9pm monday -friday and 8am-4pm saturday and sunday 9-2.
its uk based at these times so all you people making assumptions that it is international are just being racist- we are all english but not every1 has a typical english acent..
and as for BANK HOLIDAYS- it is legitamate also- we work on good friday/easter monday and also the bank holiday at the end of this month..
so stop getting so paranoid every1- if you doubt it so much call the inbound telephone line and own up to your debts and pay up..
oh and its realli annoying when customers blame the bank for themselves stupidly spending and getting into bad debt- its your responsibility not ours-we do our bit to contact u to keep u informed of ur debt. - PeteThis company is NOT Halifax Bank of Scotland, but an insurance company called First Assist who try and sell HBOS products and services.
However, they sell these products with the blessing of HBOS who actually pass on the customer's details to them in the first place.
Read the small print at the bottom of HBOS contracts and you will see the "We may pass on your details to carefully selected companies. Please let us know if you wish us not to do this".
That's why they call, because technically you have consented for HBOS to pass on YOUR contact details to this carefully selected company which just happens to sell HBOS products.
First Assist do the cold-calling, allowing HBOS look the "clean" whilst still making money on any products that First Assist do manage to punt.
I wouldn't give these idiots the time of day.- Caller: First Assist
- BellaSadly this kind of attitude from most HBOS staff in this position is all too common. Other banks are by far more professional.
Not everyone is in debt stupidly or entirely through their own fault and not everyone is tryng to avoid paying. The banks must take some of the blame for uping credit limits willy nilly.
HBOS worker should be grateful that they have a job and hope that they don't find themself on the other end of the phone having to deal with someone like them. Be careful, you should consider treating others as you would wish to be treated, you get back from life what you give out. - SolHad a call from this number to my mobile, but missed the call, so they've left me a message. But as I don't have any credit & from the other comments left I'm not going to bother listening to it.
- DarrenDo they ever give up?[***]
- Caller: Halifax?
- lisaHmmmm im also having this no. ring me several times a day on my mobile although i havent answered any of the calls yet, strange thing is that its a new sim card that i only registered on 29th SEPT 09 and following afternoon 30TH SEPT 09 i start receiving calls from 08445811014 and as yet i HAVENT given anyone at all my new number!!!!!
- maythebankscollapseHbos worker. Since I have never been in debt until this year when my husband was made redundant in May and then myself in September. His boss didn't pay him and left me with debts to have to pay to stop us getting a court order as my husband had let him use his building account. And just in the last couple of months several businesses have gone down in our area leaving very few jobs. And then after 52 years of never missing any payment I find myself being hassled by numerous numbers such as this.
This can happen to anyone and when the banks collapse, which they have a couple of times. Their debts get paid!!!!! We all know that story.
This debt is hitting everyone. Whether they have stretched themselves or not. Just take a breath, circumstances can change in the blink of an eye. - lisajust checking to see if there's a common link between us all....... what phone network for instance, im on orange
- anarchistMaybe if HBOS actually helped out people in financial difficulties then people would be more willing to start paying their debt. Increasing the interest when the person is clearly struggling to help is NOT a way of helping. Denying everyone a loan to consolidate this debt is NOT helping. Calling and harassing people is NOT helping.
To anyone being hassled by these clowns - you can make an official complaint about them! Also if you are getting these calls because you are missing payments then investigate how to get the fees back, late fees, overlimit fees etc which put you in even more debt. Basically all the credit card companies try to act like they have you over a barrel, they don't! Without you paying the stupidly high bills they send they will go under. People should make more of a stand to these bullies and show them they can't encourage people to spend the credit then later penalise them for doing just that!
Yes people should be responsible for the credit they spend but the banks shouldn't see it as a way to screw every last penny out of everyone! I bet most people here have paid back what they spent a few times over and now it's just mounds and mounds of interest. I truly hope HBOS screw up AGAIN but this time go under. I won't feel sorry a single one of them. They deserve it.- Caller: Halifax
- manchestmanHave deliberately not answered this number for months but as I wanted to know whoit is for definate I answered today. The bloke said he was from Sainsburys - which makes sense in my case. told him the person he wanted was not here - won't be answering it again. Sainsburys have been told several times in writing NOT to telephone and that I will only deal with them in writing.
- Caller: Sainsburys Credit Card
- Touching ClothRing the number, they'll list which companies HBOS own.
- peteDon't ever give any of your details over the phone when they ring you, that's exactly what the banks and credit card companies tell you not to do , and then ring up asking you do it (F**k**g Hypocrites).
I always tell them that I have a list for who gets paid first, and the more they ring the further down the list they go. Hasn't worked yet because they can't add it to my account as I wont answer the security questions, but we will see how it goes. - BenjiAre ringing me upto 4 times a day on my orange mobile phone.
I havent answered as I am exceptionally suspicious of bogus phonecalls, and numbers that are not in my phone. This is becoming a serious bit of harrassment and I am starting to lose my patience. I have also spoke to orange to try and get the number blocked from my contacting my phone and they werent very helpful with the situation either.- Caller: ??????????
- kerriI got a call from this phone number on wednesday night. i was in a hurry as i was waiting for a taxi and told them it was not a good time. i told them i would ring the bank back tomorrow, which caused the man to get rather flustered and tell me he would give me a number to call. which is really rather odd, since i already have the number for my bank! at this point i asked him if the matter was of particular urgancy, to which he replied; "it is quite important that we get in touch with you". then i asked him with reguard to which account he was calling- to which he replied "i cant divulge that over the phone"?! i hardly think the real bank would ring me up and then tell me they cant actually let on which account they're speaking about. obviously this is a scam, and the idiot on the other end of the line had not anticipated that i would have more than one account. anyway at this point, rather suspcious, i told him i was not prepaired to speak further and hung up. where do these con-artists get our numbers from anyway!!??
- Caller: CLAIMED to be bank of scotland
- Alan Pearcethese [***] have been reported to the police. they even tried to call my 11 year old son. sons of [***]
- Annoyed!A person stating they were from Halifax called and asked for my husband - whose name they struggled to pronounce and it's only 3 letters long!! I said he was out at work and they said tell him to call Halifax - no other msg or even giving their phone number?? So I did 1471 and this is the number that came up!
- Caller: Halifax
- Peter John Faganit's Halifax credit card. you have missed a payment, i get it every month. it's not a scam.
