08445811014
Report a phone call from 08445811014 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- MartinTHIS IS A SCAM - 08445811014 and 11/12/13/14/15/16/17/18 are all owned by Colt Telecom whom sold them to Agilisys and no doubt ported them over to another company.
They are attempting to confirm who you are DO NOT ANSWER / DO NOT SPEAK...I have reported the problem but BT aint interested...Typical of them nowadays ah... Also OFCOM - Fraud Sq - The Sun - BBC
YOU MUST REPORT TO OFCOM - 020 7981 3000 yourself. - David BThey asked for someone who is not the account holder, and then asked for me to confirm my date of birth. I said I won't do that over the phone, and they said that in that case they will write to me, and they hung up.
They knew both my landline and mobile number.
How did they know these ?- Caller: Halifax
- CraigWho are first assist ? im getting 6 + calls a day inc weekends from them ?
- Caller: HBOS
- craigOk ive got a Halifax Current Account and Visa Card and these calls seem to have started since I registered with them for online banking at which point you have to register a phone number. I logged my work, and mobile number. I have missed a payment on my credit card so its is likely to be the Halifax but I never answer. Just in case they have got my number from the web site ive just been back into my account and changed the numbers and logged my number as 0844 5811014 let them ring themselves in future if it is from here they got my number.
- Caller: Halifax HBOS Sainsbury's Bank
- RichieI recently went into arrears on a couple of accounts, and before that happened I had called all the credit card companies to tell them that this was about to happen. Some of them were happy to know in advance, but HBOS and all its brands said that they couldn't/wouldn't do anything whatsoever (not even put a note on their system) until I had actually gone into arrears.
It was the very next day that their auto-diallers started work, and the most agressive of them was this 0844 5811014 number, and they always said they were from Halifax (although I don't actually have anything branded as such), although I have been getting letters from Intelligent Finance (owned by HBOS), and I had also told them about the arrears problem.
I agree with all the comments above about aggressive behaviour and their refusal to even say what it's about, and their insistance on getting MY personal details before proceeding (no way!).
Just now I called the number on the back of that credit card (0845 6006081)and the lady confirmed that the number 0844 5811014 actually IS one of theirs (from their Collections department), and she says they have quite a number of different dial-out numbers that are used.
I wonder if she meant that "they" could include external partners (debt collection agents) not just HBOS employees, so that could explain why so many numbers?- Caller: Halifax
- RichieIncredible! Ever since I called Intelligent Finance (HBOS) earlier today, they have now been bombarding our landline with automated calls and no-one answering when we pick up the call (we don't have caller-ID on our phone). I can tell it's the same number (0844 5811014) by using 1471.
So I called Customer Services (the number on the back of the credit card) who said that the Collections department was now closed (Saturday afternoon). I am supposed to call Collections back on Monday, but Customer Services couldn't stop the automated calls in the meantime.
Automated Harrassment, and not even Customer Services can stop it!- Caller: Halifax
- paulsLooks like they are now using a new number have had silent call today from 0845 331 2300 claiming to be Halifax and asking me to press any key to access security.
- GoldeneyeHad a few missed calls today, they phoned again and just talked to them.
"I'm James calling from the halifax, can you confirm your post code"
"Well no, since I don't have any account with the halifax, why don't you tell me my postcode."
"Well no it's a security question to confirm you are who you say you are.."
"Your phoning me, I know who I am, who are you.. "
"I need to tell you important information about a product you have with us."
"Well you'll have to send me a letter then."
"Is [wifes full name] there."
"No she's sleeping."
"Goodbye"- Caller: Halifax
- GoldeneyeHOLD THE PRESS.
Just realised I have an amazon branded credit card with the halifax.
Logged into the online account and damn it was in arrears.
Settled up straight away, caller may have been genuine after all.- Caller: Halifax
- PreetiI've just called my bank - Halifax - and asked them about these calls I'm getting. I have been categorically told this number has nothing to do with the halifax, and she is reporting the number to the fraud department. I have had security ramped up on my account so anyone calling me from the bank would need to know my inside leg measurent before I'd speak to them.
They just called again from 0844 581 1014 - caller had a very strong I would suggest west african accent, and he asked for my DOB since he was from the halifax, and I told him I had rung my bank and reported the number and had been advised to call the police if I got another call. I'm not sure who hung up quicker!- Caller: Halifax Allegedly
- Ethical Consumerism JakRefused to speak once I answered at 8pm and was appalled at the repeated call 10 minutes later at 8.10pm- again silent.
- Caller: Halifax First Assist
- Miss Vicki F SymingtonCall received on mobile numerous occasions but not able to answer in time. Last call answered and an Easter Europion gent asked for post code. When asked why he was calling he hung up.
- chrisI think this thread needs putting to bed!!!
This is most definately halifax credit card retail collections or affiliates!!
i have had 3 calls a day for 10 days as been away on business but my phone logs all calls who don't leave messages.
my bank messed up my direct debit on my credit card payment to halifax making me go in arrears , been away for 10 days and had a letter and these calls. paid the arrears online and then rang halifax card payments spoke to a scottish lady who said that it was definately one of there auto dial numbers and untill the arears were cleared you would have kept getting them until you answered.
So B*******D my bank and got it sorted. So she said no more calls from them from tomorrow.- Caller: halifax collections
- AnnoyedI have been called many times now from 08445 811 014 and they want my full security details without giving a reason.
When questioned they hang up.
This is a scam !
The number is not registered with OFCOM so it makes it hard to trace who owns this number.
Re Chris 12 Aug 2008 I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU!
It is easy for a scammer to put up a message saying that the number is genuine.
I advise anyone to read ALL the posts and make up their own mind. - marissaiv had this number calling me.My partner answerd and said im not in.They said its halifax but thers no reason for halifax to be calling me.
very odd - carolei picked up the phone, and listened, got a silent line. We both said nothing for approx 45 seconds, before they hung up. Checked my answerphone from earlier this evening and have had two missed calls from the same number.
- caroleto follow on from my previous comment. Just spoken to Halifax Collections service, who confirmed that the telephone number was theirs. It is an automated service, so in other words, if you are in arrears it will hassle you until you get fed up and pay. They confirmed that I won't receive anymore telephone calls from this number after 9am in the morning, we shall wait and see...
- S EVANSAsked for details related to a bank account
- Caller: SAID THEY WERE HALIFAX
- bexthey have been trying to call me for last 5 days but 6 or 7 times a day...never leave a message... if it is halifx i am not behind on payments so wt do they want!!!! on principle i am not answering!!!!
- MikeIt is Adecco in Bristol, I know this cos I stitched the [***] up
