- gmbget frequent calls from this number saying that they are from the Halifax Bank -I tell them that I can't hear and ask them to write - they never do!
- JessGot first phone call on Thursday whilst holidaying in Spain. Was told it was the Bank of Scotland and could I please answer some questions for security purposes. At first I was relaxed and told them the year of my birth but when I was asked for my postcode, alarm bells started to ring. I asked why this information was needed and I was told that it was so that they could give me information. I declined.
But I was rung on numerous occasions thereafter. I answered another time and irately told the caller I was not interested. The next time a more convincing person called and told me that they needed to give me information on one of my accounts but, when I challenged the need for doing this over the phone and my mobile at that, she said that the number was the one the bank has for me and that information will be posted to me if I prefer. However, tha calls keep coming.
Now that I am home, the calls are persisting on BOTH my mobile and home number. I am just ignoring them and plan to phone my bank tomorrow to find out exactly what they have to say about this. If our banks are passing on our phone numbers without our permission, I will not be happy. - MarisaIm constantly plagued by this number and I always ignore it, funnily enuf Im with the halifax also!!!
- AnonI've been getting calls from this number at home and on mobile for over a week, up to 4 times a day on mobile and probably about the same on my home numbe. I have been caught out by them in the past but now I am getting extremely fed up of them phoning.
The Bank has not passed on my details, but I have since withdrawn my mobile phone number from the bank and will be blocking this number on my home phone as soon as I can. - roberthas anyone tried giving them flase information? would this mess up whatever system they're using?
- sammykeep ringing me all the time, just rang me at gone half 8 in the evening, it is really winding me up now, try to ring them back and it doesnt work. really really aggravating
- Caller: first assist
- confused dotI found this useful site by googling the phone number after a call. The contact who works for First Assist says that they used to be a Royal Sun Alliance Company. Royal Sun wrote to me on another matter to say that First Assist were never part of them - I'm bewildered
- Caller: 08445811014
- SteveReceived 2 calls from number today on my mobile (I'm sure there will be more!). Glad I found this site, will not answer and hope they get bored. I'm also with HBOS so you'd think that they would do more about trying to stop it.
I noticed that someone had submitted a 'happy customer' comment about this number saying that they had given their details and received 'useful' information about their account. Now forgive me for being cynical but why would someone bother to search this number on the internet and then add a comment about it being a genuine number. You just wouldn't. This is a scam number and no doubt the comment was added by the scammers. - JoeBeen bugging me on home and mobile now for well over a week. And yes, I'm another Halifax customer. 5 calls a day to each. Have now registered with the TPS. Will that stop it? I now just answer and leave the phone hanging until they ring off. Surely this kind of thing is illegal??
- NOT DUPEDit's bank of scotland - or a collections company acting on behalf of BOS (including halifax and sainsbury's bank). They are the bully boys whom BOS try to say not exist. i know this as I going through IVA process and insolvency practitioner has told me all the tricks they use. halifax and sainsbury's collections dept use 0870 numbers, not 08445
- Caller: bank of scotland, halifax, sainsburys ba

- angelitai dont know who this keep calling why do you need my details i have always been told not to give my details which i have not done
- MichaelHave had this calling me on home and mobile for the last two weeks often more than once a day. Straight in they ask for security details. I respond "you have got to be joking" to which they reply they will put details in the post. So far the letters have been either lost by the postman or are invisible and I've yet to find them on the doormat!
- Caller: halifax
- Martyn BreckenridgeI have been recieving calls from this number for a while now and, after some digging, I can confirm that this IS a legitimate call.
HBOS passes your details onto this company to chase customers up about credit cards that are above their credit limit and havent been paid. The call centre is based abroad and they do seem to be a bit up their own [***].
Although this is a legitimate call, I play games with them anyway :), usually given them incorrect details, playing the "hold" game.
If you really want to annoy them, just get BT or whoever your telecom provider is to activate call transfer on your phone line, and set it to forward calls from 08445811014 to your local police station.- Caller: Agents on behalf of HBOS
- VerdoEvery weekday morning without fail this number calls my home around 9.45
How can I stop this nuisance call? Who can I report it to?- Caller: Absolutely NO idea
- KazHave been telephoned by these people three times in quick succession today. We had just left my dying friends,as you can imagine I had other things on my mind.We missed the first call, thank goodness and were shopping for her the second time, so I asked them to let me return their call( supposedly the Halifax )when I was free. I did have the foresight to goggle the number when I got home which led me to your site thankfully. The third time I told the girl, with the Indian sounding accent, that I did not give out my details over the phone and she put the receiver down(she was polite though).Hopefully I won't get anymore calls but I won't be banking on it.How on earth do they get our phone numbers?
- Caller: said it was the Halifax
- KhanI had these people call me yesterday about money i owed Halifax. the girls were very rude and said they were calling from Ireland but i'm pretty sure it was some village in India! they said their company was employed by Halifax to collect money etc. i refused to pay the money then went into a Halifax branch who said the call was genuine and i did owe the money on my mastercard (even though it was a nil balance!). they waived the debt(?!) this time. then today i got a call from a very rude man at this company saying i still owed the money! i told him it had been cleared and then he started asking me about contact details. i refused to give more details and said i want his organisation to stop contacting me and harrassing me at which point he hung up the phone! if this is how Halifax treat their customers (after being with them for nearly 20 years!) i think i'll be changing banks! i also have a missed call from number 2031034000 who i'm assuming is the same thing.
