This number is the Halifax. It relates to their collection department. I missed a £5 payment on their credit card and this was enough to get me on their collections list. I had numerous phone calls from them over the weekend on this number, even though each time I was not prepared to provide them with any details. This didn't stop them from calling again and again. Suggest you just have fun with them and leave them hanging on and see how long till they hang up.
Certainly wasn't hassle I wanted and have now cancelled the account with them. Just hope the calls stop.

it's a legitimate number I've dealt with them today concerning my card care with Halifax and St Andrews company - if you get a call from this number and they cannot give you any of their own security details, my thoughts would be someone has cloned the number and it would be best to hang up and contact your bank to confirm any issues!

got this number calling me up to 10 times a day, arrggghhhhhhh how annoying, usually just silent but did answer once asking for post code

Just had a call from this number, they said they were from the halifax and that it was regarding a business matter. I said that I don't have any dealings with Halifax as far as business is concerned and he hung up.

Had missed calls and a silent call from them so looked the number up.  When they next called I answered and they said they were from Bank of Scotland and asked me to confirm my date of birth and address to which I said if they phoned me they should have my details.  He said he did but for security I needed to tell him. He began getting rude because I wouldn't give it, to which I asked "well for security can I have your name first" because I wasn't going to give my details to confirm who I was without him confirming who he was?

"Frank" said the foreign person but when I asked him his Sir name he said "Just Frank" I began to say surely if you work for the Bank of Scotland you must have a surname, but he quickly said "oh we'll send you a letter" and hung up. Now, I work in a call centre for a good company and I would be killed by my manager if I spoke to someone the way he did, didn't give my proper name when asked and most of all hanging up the phone in the middle of conversation (unless the customer was being aggresive or swearing, which I wasn't)

So it's either not really the Bank of Scotland or it's really bad customer service from them!!

I would suggest:
-you ask them their name (including surname)
-where the call centre is
-if asked for your personal information, get them to give you four options and you'll tell them which number it is because it may not be convienent anyway to say your personal details, say if your on the train, you don't want the whole world knowing your information
-Give them the wrong Date of Birth and see what they say. I'm going to do this if they phone again because I want to see what their reaction is.

These people are frauds do not give them any of your personal details they are con artists.... If they do happen to answer when they call you, you will notice that it's the same person calling so there is no way it's from a bank call centre. Be careful

Its supposedly halifax...sounds like a scam though.

omg these people are such frauds they keep calling everyday for my dad, and when i question them they get very agitated as if they have just been found out so their is no way they are genuine.

I just wish i could block this number easily! i get called dozen times a day on mobile and home number.... even at 8.15 on a sunday!!! Do you know any banks that work and call customers at that time? !!!

yeah, got this call at 8am. i did miss a payment recently on something and know they have been ringing asking for deatils, even banks have actually been legit doing this.although i never give out any sort of details anymore. for some reason this was didnt seem right either. there was silence and just a muted 'hello' again.

i put phone down. here's ofcom's number. if we all ring them and report these scumbags we can hopefully get them shut:

They keep calling and asking for dtails including account numbers not just id verification. say they are hailfax but this is notthe norm,al sort of acll from halifax. refuse to speak and they say they will write ainstead and hold the calls. but they still call everyday several times. dodgy if you ask me.

Shed loads of similar calls, have now started answering and giving the phone to my 2 year old daughter, which is entertaining.

Called Halifax and asked them to remove me from this number, which they have said they will do.

I received such call and claiming that they are from Sainsbury's credit card company. Tried to get my debit card details to pay off the fraud transactions made by someone else online by using one of my old credit card. Please report to the police or your bank not through the number they gave and this is a serious criminal company.

they are driving me crazy, they phone constantly, i usually ignore but when i do answer all i get is 'postcode please'? well howdy, nice to speak to u too! [***]. glad i checked on here... oh look, my phone is ringing again! argh leave me alone!!

Called me 3 times on fri ,but I could't answer.Then called me on sat-miss me again.But when I was calling was strange recording that there are from Royal Banc of Scotland,Halifax ect.But the weard thing was that they call me on sunday!?

this number called my mobile and landline every day but is silent when you pick it up, they claim it is from the Halifax, I dont have any Halifax products so I reckon its a scam

This number is calling me repeatedly, 7 days a week, seven or eight times a day up until 9pm; they have also called my landline. I answered the call once and just got silence at the other end and then someone hanging up. I have been ignoring these calls ever since but am seriously thinking of reporting them.

Please can you help I am getting numerous calls aday from this number including late night calls all weekend. I owe £9.74 to the halifax and told them I will pay it next week but they still keep harrasing me. Who should I report it to?

Had two calls from this number already today - and it's only 3pm!  They refuse to tell me what they are calling about unless I give my security information.  Why should I be expected to give my personal details and security information to someone over the telephone when I don't know who they are ..... my phone's going again now - it's them again!
