Report a phone call from 08445811014 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- MarkinReadingthey're at it again - phoning now 6 times a day. I ask them for their identity - name, spelling, surname, company they work for, geographic location etc and they hang up.
VERY IRRITATING- Caller: "HALIFAX"
- Brian StewartOk guys/gals a quick update about the number that keeps calling
THE NUMBER IS REAL!
IT IS FROM HALIFAX/RBOS
Its a new department who run this service which is why alot of the customer service reps in halifax have no idea who it is
i can confirm this because the fraud department actually contacted me back directly after i complained about the number calling.
so it is real folks and it happens only if you do transactions online or anywhere in which they are not 100% sure are real.
so the number asks for your details and then it will run from confirmation the transactions (transaction only u and HALIFAX would know)
so dont worry folks its fine
you can get this confirmed by speaking with halifax head office and the new fraud department - Brian Stewartquick update to my last comment - although my comment is valid it may not relate to this actual number
but the fraud team ahve a few numbers they use
so if u get a call from a computerised voice claiming to be from halifax then continue with the call (it will not ask you directly for any information it will only confirm information it already as about you - i.e it will say your full number, post code and confirm transactions ) - Gear08445811014 - these [***] are phoning me daily, despite my saying to send me a letter. I have an amazon halifax card, but i pay it off by direct debit, so there would be no reason to chase me for debt.
I strongly suspect some of these fuckwits on this forum who are telling us it isn't real are part of the scamming team.
Can't believe it's gone on this long!
And never, ever get the amazon credit card it has the worst customer service I've seen.- Caller: Halifax
- GeoffSaid they were from the Bank of Scotland and I would have to verify my date of birth, etc
- suspicious@ Brian Stewart
You Said...
"so it is real folks and it happens only if you do transactions online or anywhere in which they are not 100% sure are real."
I've just had a call from this number (and have had many in the past too) but my h/fax card has been officially in dispute with them for months now, and I haven't used the card for over 2 years since they put a stop on it.
So you're wrong. Perhaps you work for this scamming company?
When I picked up just now, the call was very crackly, there was a lot of background noise, and the woman was so foreign I couldn't hear what she was saying. I asked her to call back and she just hung up; presumably she'd added to her call quota just by speaking to me... - NealThey call our landline and mobile, some silent, some claiming to be from Halifax Bank.....very iritating
- Caller: Halifax Bank
- davethese guys rang me earlier today but i missed the call. googled the number and found this page. they rang back about an hour ago saying they were from the halifax and asked for some security details - i told them no and that i'd read dodgy things about them on the internet, to which he replied "you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet. we're going to keep calling you until you give us the details we need." and then hung up.
- NigelThey claim to be the "Halifax" but OFCOM tell me they are a company called "First Assist".
Before OFCOM can take action they need a "body of evidence" so please report it to 0300 321 3333. - SimoneI received several phonecalls from this number. Once they even said they were calling from Sainsbury's and asked me to confirm my year of birth. I feel such a fool for volunteering that information now.
- helenI am so pleased to hear that other people have been / are being pestered and confused by these calls; I thought I was going mad. I bank with Halifax and BOS so there is a reason for them to call and have my details, however, the way in which they deal with you makes me question if they are genuine calls. They ring, leave no message but say that they will phone back. After discovering this website, I was ready for them and have taken two calls. The first came from a man who sounded like he was phoning from his own living room, asked for my dob and postcode which I refused and hung up. The second call sounded straight from an indian call centre, asked for the same details and when I asked what it was regarding and questioned his authenticity, he got shirty and just said call the bank. I called BOS who said that they would never call out of hours, never ask for personal details over the phone, would always say you don't have to answer if you don't want to and would never hang up. THESE CALLS ARE NOT GENUINE, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THEM. REPORT THIS NUMBER TO THE BANK AND LETS HOPE THEY GET HOLD OF THEM.
- Mrs G WilliamsHave had several weeks worth of calls from this number. When I pick up the call it is from an automated voice machine asking for my husband by his full name. Today(sunday!!) we had a 'live' call from them again asking for hubby, there first question was' What is your National Ins.No. & Date of Birth. Sent the Asian sounding caller away, telling them to send us an appoitment to visit our local branch of Halifax. Said we were on TPS and not to call us again. Hope it stops them, but I doubt it!!
- Caller: Halifax plc
- ClaireI have been getting calls from this number for about a week now, i only answered the phone just the once but the caller hung up. Now when the number appears in my caller id i refuse to answer the phone. I was not happy when they woke me up yesterday at 9am (Sunday is the only day i get a lie in!)Then this morning they called at 8.15am! My answerphone comes on but they never leave a message, in my opinion it must be a foreign call centre that they make the calls from as companies in the UK know they can not call during unsociable hours i.e. early morning and late evening. After reading on here what others have written i will continue to ignore their calls, it is not the sort of behaviour you would expect from a large company such as the Halifax, furthermore, if a company wishes to contact you about a matter they will always write if they can't get hold of you successfully!
- BethI have received various calls from this number over the past week or so. They have been on my mobile and no message left. I did answer this morning and it sounded like a foreign person on the other end of the phone, said he was from the Halifax then dived into asking for my details to verify who I was. I told him I couldn't talk as I was busy and he just hung up without another word.
- DaveI can pretty much quote Helen from 17Jan. I do bank with Halifax but I answered once on Saturday and I was very dubious about the lady I was speaking too. She was incredibly rude and I just dont believe a ligitimate body on thier behalf would act in such a way. They have called 6 times today and never leave a message?
- AlisonBeen getting several calls a day from this number. They know my name and want to know my postcode and date of birth. I have no accounts with any part of HBOS, and never have. When I don't give them the info they are asking for, they ring off, only to call later.
- craigerHi all. This number has called me today along with the 0203 number. They have been calling me approx 4 or 5 times a day for a week. However, It IS Halifax.
I am arrears on my credit card payment by 1 month. They will pester the [***] out of you to get it too!!
Not sure how many of you guys are in arrears with either credit card/bank associated with Halifax, but this seems to be legit (although I didnt think it was.- Caller: Halifax
- craigerSorry, adding on to my comment. How many of you who have these calls are in arrears? or do you have the calls even if you have nothing connected with Halifax/BOS?
I seem to remember having calls the last time I was in arrears on my CC.- Caller: Halifax
- AndrewGot a call from this number claiming to be from the Bank of Scotland. Long delay before anything's said and a very poor line quality, as well as a foreign woman who's obviously reading from a script.
I have no accounts nor business with this bank. When I told her this, she told me to call this number.
0708501291
I'm dubious of calling this number for obvious reasons.- Caller: Claimed Bank of Scotland
- Stephen EadeHad 10 calls from this number in 10 days!!!
