get 3 to 4 calls a day every single day from 08445811014 stopped answering phone now coz its driving me crazy

I have had this number calling for a few weeks now, always asking for my Husband.  We do have a Halifax Credit Card so until I read this I didnt think too much of it.  I was so glad I read it tho, because today they called again, and when I said my Husband was no there they asked for me by name, and then asked me to confirm my date of birth and post code.  I told them I would not do this over the phone and had received an email about this particular number and the person put the phone down.  Beware !!!!!

Got a call on my mobile today from this number - claiming to be from the Halifax.  Sounded like an Indian call centre.  Also had an identical call on my landline today from 0844 5811014.  They both asked for me by name and asked me to confirm my postcode.  I refused fairly sharply on both occasions.  Also had about 30 calls from a 'robot' (0845 3550046) in the past week, from 0845 3550046 - claiming to be from Bank of Scotland, asking me to press any key to continue.  I've reported the robot calls to Bank of Scotland via email - so far no reply.  I think all the calls are related.  What on earth is going on?  It's driving me demented!

Continously called by this number. I usually don't answer. Only did today as I thought it might be my husband calling from abroad.
Latest today (SUNDAY) at 12 noon. I answered and an Indian sounding gentleman asked for my husband by name.

Man"Hello, Can I speak to Mr. A *** please?
me "Whos' calling please?"
Man" It's the Bank Of Scotland"
Me "He's not available at the moment, can I take a message" ( True- he's away on business)
Men "Can you tell him the Bank of Scotland called. I'll try again later"
me "he doesn't have an account with the Bank of Scotland"
Man " What?"
Me " I said he doesn't have an account with The BoS"
Man...long pause " Erm it isn't about an account with us"
Me " What's it about then?"
Man " I can't tell you that madam, it's a personal business matter"
Me: Ok well he'll be away for a while so it would be better if you put it in writing, ok?"
Man....."um...ok"
He hangs up.
If this is genuine then I worry about their staff training!!

I had a call tonight for my Wife (who is abroad and her bank knows this!). I asked who was calling and was told by a women with a foreign accent with lots of noise in the background it was the "Halifax Building Society" - the name before it became a bank!! When I started to aks her name and department the background noice suddenly disappeared. When  pressed further she hung up on me! I called the Halifax and they confirmed they did not call and it is number they do not use and do not hang up unless the conversation has finished satisfactory by both parties. If you get a call, note the  number, call whoever they claim to be from but NO NOT CALL BACK. Either they have confirmation they have the correct number or you maybe charge a rediculous charge for connection.
IF YOU GET ONE THESE CALLS HANG UP. CALL THE INSTITUTION THEY CLAIM TO BE FROM AND NO NOT VERIFY ANY DETAILS.

I've had dozens of calls from this number, always when i'm at work and my phone is on silent in drawer, they refuse to leave message and I get an automated message when I call back. I've rang the Halifax as I have an account with them and they are suprised I am getting these calls. I am not going to divulge any info anyway.

Getting these calls twice a day.  They do not leave messages.  I think it is Halifax, they were quite rude when someone else answered on my behalf saying they would call back and just hung up.

Very much the same as others report, no messages and kept calling all the time. Will have to take action on this. Crooks!

Received a call from 08445811014. She gave her name a felutia (?) and spoke with an African accent. She claimed to befrom the Halifax and gave me my name and asked me to confirm my DOB before discussing my account further. When I refused she gave me a number for the halifax 08748501291.
I checked the original number on google and found all these entries!!!
Dont trust it!

I get called constantly from this number, anywhere from about 8am to 10pm and its frequent. I dont have any money anyway so they are wasting their time, I always ignore these kinds of numbers but its really irritating me now. I will answer next time after seeing this and knowing its a load of bull.

This number calls us every day and hangs up when answered. Is there anyone we can complain to?

Calls from this number 08445811014 are from Bank of Scotland but there partner banks; Halifax,IF,Birmingham Midshires,TNC Plc,Sainsburys Bank Plc use this number also, if you miss the call they will call you back at a later time

ive had phone phone calls off this number for weeks now and its getting beyond a joke
i have told them that they arent halifax and that dont work
i told them them to f**k off that didnt work
i have my other half pose as my lawyer telling them that this is harrasment and that didnt work as they are still phoning me and its getting annoying its getting beyond a joke and they wont let help i only have a mobile number i dont know if i can get the number banned or not and they always ring when im at work. and its a always a personal business call.

Been getting about two or three calls a day from this number for about a week and half but haven't answered because I was pretty sure it was some sort of scam. Decided to Google it today and found this page which pretty much confirms my suspicions!

This number (08445811014)calls my mobile about 4 times a day despite the fact I have never ever answered them (always registers as "missed call")- They also call my home and I have taken a call from them - They are definately calling on behalf of Halifax/BOS and were chasing me up for a late payment on a credit card - They are obviously a 3rd party that BOS/Halifax use to chase late payments etc - The staff are very rude and often are difficult to understand because of their foreign accents - I now refuse to take their calls or simply answer the phone and leave them on hold !
