Report a phone call from 08445811014 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- ledrilI have had about 20 missed calls from this number in the last 2 weeks. I rang back and a message said 'one of our representatives tried to contact you earlier' even though I dialled 141 first. Maybe if enough people report it something can be done
- anonGot a call from them today claiming to be from Halifax - sounded Indian with some sort of American accent.
Wanted my year of birth for 'security reasons'.
Asked her what the call was regarding and she wouldnt say. When refused, she said 'she'd send me a letter instead and hung up'! ....customer service for you!!- Caller: so called Halifax
- Gmissed call, thought i'd google it, found this site... very handy!
reading some of the comments, i'd say it possibly is genuine as I just checked online and found I had missed a payment to my credit card... settled online as I never give details to someone who calls me. - CarloI've had two missed calls already and i answered just 15 mins ago. Said they were from the Halifax and asked for my postcode and date of birth. I refused and called the Bank of Scotland they told me it was a scam and not to answer the phone to them, also i should call my service provider and complain.
- Caller: AKA Halifax
- NRGot a call, african sounding woman on a bad line asked for my DOB and Post Code. I said I'll call her back she promptly hung up.
Phoned HBOS and the guy said it was to do with my credit card for which I was late on. He gave me an alternative number to call.- Caller: Bank of Scotland
- AnonymousHave been receiving calls from this number for the last month.....up to 10 times a day and more but l refuse to answer as l dont recognise the number and l certainly dont bank with halifax.
- GailIve been getting 5 calls a day but miss it each time. Has anyone managed to get them to stop?
- SteelasophicalHave had calls from this number for several months and several times a day - nothing the other end when the call is answered - looking to have it barred
- JI've been getting 3-4 calls a day at work from this number for the past 10 days or so. (Did pick up the first time and was asked for personal details, which of course I refused to give; they hung up and then called again a few hours later, so politely asked them to stop, which they didn't...)
Called Halifax customer relations earlier today to complain. They admitted having done business with so-called First Assist, but are not aware of any harrassing of their customers. All they could do was removing my number from telemarketing and "escalating the issue".- Caller: "First Assist on behalf of Halifax"
- BeastI have been rung constantly by this number for the past 10 days, they have now been blocked after reading this blog
Thanks guys! - BettyI have call from same number how many time in the last 3 months. I ignored the call. One day I come to Halifax Bank and ask to customer service what going on ? Why they are try to call me all the time ? Halifax customer service does not what going on. I so up sad hear information from them. And I tell to them the number phone always call me : 08445811015, 08445811014 and 02031035180. Please everybody ignored the call.
- Caller: 08445811014
- BillySimilar to above with countless calls to home and mobile. Next time ask them what type of underwear they're wearing. They don't like that!!
- Caller: HBOS
- PaulHave had three calls form them. Answered the 3rd after reading these comments and she said that she wanted to speak to me regarding personal finance and asked for my date of birth. Told her \i eould not give detail sover the phone and she said that she would write to me. Then she said "Thanks a million" and hung up. Have reported to the Halifax today and they have sent details to head office. Halifax checked my account and told me that they have a record of each time I have been contacted by them and they have never rung me.
- AnthonyHave started to get these calls again, now and last time I happened to be a couple of days late with my credit card payment, so it could be genuine.
That said, why all the hanging up and rudeness?
I have started to play them at their own game now. When their call and ask for my details I tell them that before I can give them that information I have a few security questions, and ask them to confirm THEIR D.O.B. and postcode. Then keep telling them the above to what ever they say after that.
This really gets them going!!!
Also I got them to repeat that they said they were calling from the Halifax and not on their behalf.
Try the above, it has brought a lighter side to the annoyance that it is.- Caller: Halifax
- Steve101Found a way to help with this. My daughter is being called by these people on her mobile and our house phone so when they ring the house phone I tell them to ring the mobile as she is not in. When they ring her She tells them she is her sister and her number is diverted to her. She then tells them to ring the home phone as my daughter's phone is off being charged.
Guess what, the calls are slowly reducing, we don't get as many now. Sooner or later they might twig we've got them on a run around. Feels nice to know we are getting back at them and have turned the tables on them.
As for the blank calls, once you have answered hang on don't put the phone down! Remember as they phoned you it must be costing them money not you. play them at their own game. They always eventually speak (at least in our case they do). While you have not hung up it's costing them money so they either speak or hang up but at least you have the upper hand this time.
Don't loose heart against them but think of ways to play them at their own game. Got an old mobile or old number. Give them that and ask them to ring it each time they call. If the phone is not turned on they will soon get the idea. Why not give them your local police station number see where that gets them. Once more of us start doing this they will soon leave us alone. - tricky dI have established that the company behind 0844 5811014 is an outsourcing outfit called AGILISYS: www.agilisys.co.uk Extracts from their web site include:
"We offer a range of specialist outsourcing solutions including:
Customer process outsourcing, to support the lifecycle of customer accounts
Debt collection outsourcing to increase early collections and decrease customer delinquency" (!)
You will see that they mention their contract with HBOS as one of their success stories! Obviously so much so that HBOS staff tend not to know about it!
The web site also has a helpful map that shows where Agilisys's (?) call centres are- dotted around Britain but with one in Shannon, Ireland and another in Mumbai. - steve101Another solution - have whistle handy. When you get a call from them simply blow it down the phone. Doubt they will like that either and the caller will be unable to make calls for a while!
- Jane RobertsI have a Halifax credit card and know the automated number that they use and the numbers for their Retail Collections. The number calling me is definately not one of them. I answered the call today and an irish lady said that she was from Halifax. When I said that I knew the Halifax numbers she laughed as if she'd heard this before. As with the other previous comments she asked me to confirm my DOB and postcode to which I said that I wasn't prepared to do that. She said that it was a business matter and not a sales call and that I needed to confirm these details before she would tell me what the call was about. I again told her that I wasn't prepared to do this and put the phone down. I am also getting the silent calls when I've answered other calls. I'm going into Halifax tomorrow to see if I can get more details.
- katey08445811014 keeps calling me are they fake or real? they say they are Halifax and were trying to get me to pay money into my other account but i refused over the phone. they knew alot of my details i would love 2 kno who these people are ?
- Caller: Halifax
- PaulI called Amazon Card services because my card was overdue. This was because I was in hospital when the statement arrived. I also have had a lot of these calls and simply replied to the caller with a lot of swearwords. Didn't stop them calling but made me feel better.
It turns out that this outfit is Retail Bank Collections. PO Box 607. Trinity Road. Halifax HX1 2UJ trying to get me to pay my massive bill of £37.00!
To get them, do not use the 08708501292 EXPENSIVE NUMBER, but 0800 917 7617 who will connect you.
