Had numerous calls day and night from this number.. 08445811014
We have nothing to do with the Halifax and the person they ask for we have never heard of.We were told at one point that "your number will be taken off the list" after explaining the person didn't live here, but the calls continued.

Now i just answer the phone and if they ask for someone, i say "hang on i will go and check.." and i then just leave them hanging while i go back to doing what ever i was doing.I'm not sure how long they hang on before they give up waiting, but it makes me feel better.

I have now been receiving these calls for three weeks and they can be up to 8-10 times per day.

Does anyone know how to block them?

First thing in the morning AND no answer when answered, mobile & landline, what's going on???  Calledback & they couldn't give details!!!!!

To answer some of the comments above.

I work for the company and we have nothing to hide. We administer a Halifax product (Located on the Halifax website)on behalf of the Halifax (Halifax Personal Accident Plan)All customers we contact have agreed to be contacted with reference to further products.A lot of major companies do sub-contract work to other companies. We are a Healthcare company that used to belong to Royal Sun Alliance. We do not buy details as it is a Halifax product.

First Assist have a dedicated web site, detailing our company and it's products and services.

We do ask for a year of birth to confirm we are speaking to the right customer to protect the customer as directed by the Halifax.

Halifax have merged with The Bank Of Scotland and are now titled as Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS)

Some of our agents are from all walks of life including Indian & African, which would give the impression that it is a call from overseas. I can assure you that in any workplace you would expect a multi racial workforce.

If you don not want to receive these calls, then you have the following options:

1. Contact the Halifax to change your third party agreement.
2. Register with the Telephone preference service 0845 070 0707 to stop any unsolicited calls.

myself and my 7 year old daughter have been getting these calls, only thing i can think how they got our numbers is through T mobile as they r new phones bought at same time and number has not been given out

I AM TP registered, but they still call. Really professional outfit...

have had many calls from this number in the past 3 months sometimes as late as 8pm and as early as 8am on sunday!!!! NOT impressed at all have answered it once and there was no answer needeless to say they were about to get the sharp end of my tongue I am furious that this number keeps calling.

Yes I did go over my credit card limit with the Halifax so was it about this ???? if the Halifax deny they are involved with this number then who is it?? there's no way I would confirm any of my details to them after reading all these postings!!!

Had calls from 08708503492 for the last 2 or 3 days ( this number is reported as linked to the Halifax ) Today I have had 2 missed calls from 08445811014. Whatever the numbers are, I would assume there is some connection between the two as I have had no previous calls from these sort of numbers.

Answered the call, line was silent then heard them hang up.

Had a call from, 08445811015. Didn't pick up, and didn't leave a message.

Had a call on my mobile today from that number. It was Indian woman speaking terrible English, I could barely understand her. Anyway, she wanted to speak to someone with first name similar to mine, but surname was completely different. After spelling my first name and surname three times, lady apologised and that's it. Oh, I'm not Halifax's customer.

I got a calll today on this number from a human voice saying they were Halifax.  I told them I didn't believe them since I also had automated calls from a different (0870) number.

I wish you could spit down the phone.

If you have agreed to be contacted or failed to notify your Business provider (Bank,Breakdown Provider etc) then they can contact you which means the TPS does NOT apply. It only applies to companies that you have not such agreement with.

A lot of companies will automatically include your details for further products/info if you have not expressed a preference.

A lot of comments on this site about customers TPS status are incorrect. It is fully covered on the TPS website.

I rang back the number and its a voice mail saying insurance/medical referral obviously using a different tactic now!  Rang me a few times but left no message

Had loads of calls, mobile and home number, from India some where, i was not prepared to give my DOB etc to them, so have been ignorning for a while now, still coming through though up to 10 a day, decided to play along and give a false DOB, but it seems they do already know this, which leads me to believe it is Halifax, and it does so happen i missed a payment on my card last month, which does seem to fit with the last comment

I have received several calls from this number this week.  I called the number from my work phone and it said that "the patient referral centre" had tried to contact me.  I was late with my halifax credit card payment this month and paid it online yesterday.  what a sneaky underhand way to chase up customers.

Keep Calling no message left most annoying

Fair enough if the company is calling because I gave a third party agreement to the Halifax or whatever, but after weeks of phoning just about every day at random times, about 10 times a bloody day of me ignoring the phone can they not get the drift that I just don't give a [***]?

Keep getting these. Are thay Halifax or what?
Thay ask for post code so I ask for their full name and i get their first name and they hang up and shout "Can you not understand my name?"

Started to receive calls from 0844 5811014 and 0870 8503492 - up to 4 per day.
Each time I tell them where to go!
Visited local HBOS office today and they said NEVER give any details they ask for. Of course - I wasn't born yesterday and I suspected a scam right from the start.
Beware all you people, especially the elderly and vulnerable.
