Got a call from Billy in legal Dept of Redress ( unsolicited) 15.6.11 . Wouldnt explain why

Once again this number rang. I answered phone and was asked if I was Mrs ...... They completley mispronouced my surname . I put phone on table and walked away and left it. After 5 mins I replaced the phone and the line was clear.
Think this probably the best thing to do without resorting to angst.
I too am with TPS.

01274663293 rang me about an hour after my last message. Again the same mispronuciaton of my surname but then asked if i was Mrs M... of (my address). I said I wasn't. I suspect it was the same caller and the same firm.
Let's see what happens next!

Got call today 15/6/11 A few questions in was 'How much is outstanding on your credit card?'
When I said 'Zero, nothing' the other end quickly ended call. I hope it's permanent

phone rang no one at the other end, music plays, put the phone down but the line doesn't clear for about 3-4 minutes - so if you have caller display dont pick answer this number.

Just received a call from this number and when I asked for the name of the company so I could report them for calling me she said 'how would I know if you were registered with the telephone preference service?' Hmm, I thought it was their job to find out which I was about to point out but then she hung up! I think she said she was phoning from PPI because it was regarding a 'change in legislation..'

sick of these calls asking for people who do not and have not lived at my address.

1130am 25 June 2011I put the call on speaker 'phone and got on with my work it played boring music for about 5mins then said "good by"

Keep ringing me; 5 missed calls or silent ones this last week. Finally a person when I ppicked the phone up and demanded to know who they were and where they got my details from. Told me they were Redress Claims in Bradford selling PPI claimback services and that they had purchased data from two companies called Phruit and Unique Prospects. Promised that they would remove me from their database and not ring me again but to contact Phruit and Unique Prospects directly to remove me from their databases. Now have to waste time hunting these two companies phone-numbers down.

Had 2 calls from this number today...the first one was silent and I put the phone down...the second played me classical music with a message every minute or so saying ''your call is important to us, please hold the line and someone will be with you soon'' Why phone me if there is no-one there to talk to me????!!! Grrrrrrrr!!! I was all ready with the TPS speech but no-one wanted to talk.....maybe next time they'll speak to me and I'll give them a piece of my mind.

Who does this telephone number belong to? Can anyone help at least 3 times a week?

i got a call today from 08446882753   the girl said her name was nicolle then asked me who i was. I asked her why she wanted to know and what it was about. she said she needed to know who i was before she could tell me!! lol. naturally i told her to go forth and multiply!!!

I got a call from this number and it just started playing some benign classical piece of music. When I hung up the phone I did a 1471 and the music was still playing after I had disconected. I did this for about 2 minutes on and off and the music still played

Just had a call from 08446882753, answered it and got put on hold, tried hanging up, tried disconnecting the phone line, then it just went dead.

Keep getting calls from this company, both silent and the redress claims, we get about 4 or 5 a week, any time day or evening, they are a pain.

We are registered with TPS on line too, its not working though is it?  Perhaps they could be disconnected by BT, and save us all the bother?

Another way they get your number is the banks, I found that Natwest gave out my home and mobile number without telling me, I gave them an updated detail of a new number, and the next thing I started getting nuisance calls, what happened to Data Protection?  RBS yes RBS who are the governing body of Natwest, Lloyds TSB, Halifax, and Barclays, so don't be fooled by they are not part of the RBS, they are.  They should be fined for giving out peoples personal details, they don't do it for free, they do it for monetary gain, like our medical records being sold by the companies the NHS employed in India to put our medical records on to computer, will they ever learn?

I've had yet another call from Redress, who are despite the caller ID showing as international, in Yorkshire I was told by the rather rude man who insisted he wanted to speak to my partner and not myself, despite my telling him several times that he wasn't in.
He kept rudely insisting that this was an arranged return call regarding his current financial situation, and that he didn't want to speak to me in the slightest-his words, not mine!
I told him we're registered with the TPS, and that I wanted our number removed from the database immediately, to which he repeated his previous blurb about it being a return call, not a nuisance call, so I told him if his company called again I would be complaining to TPS and ICO, and hung up.

We're currently getting  3 to 10 calls a day from either international or unavailable....beyond a joke now.

Foreign language call.

Just had a call from this number no explanation as to who they are but I now know thanks to this site. Asked for my hubby but when I said he was at work she hung up....how rude!!...reporting another to ofcom....got a feeling these nobs called yesterday at 8.15am!!
